Default RCT3: Ride / Background music not playing

Hi everyone

I've had this problem for a while. What happens is certain song files play on rides, but others will not; they all show in the list of "available" music selections from the MyMusic/RCT3 folder. I do have the box checked in the options for searching the MyMusic/RCT3 for music, but it still won't play.

However, if I take a file that doesn't work and import it into iTunes, make a copy of it in iTunes (select "create .mp3 version") and I take that copy, place it in the /RCT3 folder it'll work. I mean it's a temporary solution, but I'd like to know what's going on since all the songs that do work have been either downloaded from iTunes or ripped from a CD in iTunes. Oh, by the way, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on an HP laptop if that helps.

Thanks guys if you can help!

Some times of DRM will stop the music playing. So might any with unusual codecs. Make sure you have any relevant codecs installed in Windows Media Payer.

So how might I do that Michael? And how would I find the relevant codecs?

Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player installed: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...-media-player/

Then try playing the track in the player, if it complains about a missing codec you'll need to search for that codec's Windows Media Player. I can't help you with that I'm afraid.
