Planetside 2 (and how it relates to Elite 4)

I don't know if anyone here knew about Planetside, or knows about its upcoming sequel that just went into beta; but its ambitious (as the original was) as a 'twitchy' MMO with up to 2,000 people fighting over a continent at once.

If you replace continent with solar system - with its own planets, bases, space stations etc and I think you have a recipe for what E4 might look like. A capacity of 2,000 people in the same area still able to play a reaction based game really bodes well for an Elite 4 that would be an amazing social gaming experience which nobody else could offer.

Think EVE - but you actually get to fly the ship properly.
