if you want to download the newest compilation, i think it would be from elite.games.ru
but if it's from last year it won't contain the escape capsule.
latest model upgrades are here http://www.elite-games.ru/conference...375954#2375954

ok. you can strech the screen to full on fs (card or screen), try to set fs to your screens native resolution, it will work. it's just that iv'e recognised a lot of screenshots with a wrong aspect (sun's looking like it's flattened on the sides), sadly 1600x1000, which is a multiple of 320x200, don't works.
in windowed mode you can fix this with aspectfix=1, on fullscreen i didn't recommend that, except you have a older monitor with aspect 4/3.

Default Same Revision, New Release

Anyone interested,

I have downloaded the current FFE D3D (1.12b+) release and merged it with Pack_164 archive.

Current size = 193mb

Archived in RAR to preserve character encoding.

Rar parts are 20mb (Max attachment size I can upload)

Find it (29jan2010 release) here

HI Oz Falcon
Thank you for providing that link. Getting a hold of the latest version was proving to be troublesome. Well done to you and you have even broken it down into smaller parts. Great!

Downloading part 1 now

good job OzFalcon
i will peruse it.

i did.... and part 4 seems to be currupted (i downloadet it two times, just to be shure) but i didn't think data is really corrupted, the whole rar folder is a mess when i open it and shows everytime i do, different folders & names, sometimes 4 sometimes only three or one.
maybe you should not preserve. it seems like the kirillyan typefaces (or remnants of) confusing our OS's. you know in ascii a lot of code was reserved as commands for DOS and still restricted by OS to use for names, it's still a PC, they can be very serious (start to act silly) about such things. windows simply don't allows the use of them, but if they come in a compressed folder, allready named with "\","/","¦", or "*" noone knows what happens then (not a lot in fact, it simply don't works). or imagine it contains some of the good old [* esc commands...... maybe your computer starts to type your instruction to the printer rather than extracting the archive. or redirect to source folder and overwrite with no data would be also possible i think with the right combination, to perform a sudden reset would be easy, it's expandable by choice......

geraldine i know you must have downloadet it too, is it the same for you?

maybe it helps if i install kyrillian typefaces on my machine, so the letters won't be wrong interpreted.

a simple string could be a powerful weapon.
many years ago, first time in web (me&ME), after a while i stumbled occasionaly over a registry folder named "unspeakeable" (there many of them, containing different gibberish data, users usually don't have no idea what it is), curious as i am i opened it, inside names of tracks of a CD i was listening a few hours ago maybe, attached to the names (as value) was a enormous string "unspeakable", hmmm.....
returned to desktop put the CD in, wanted to replay in digital mode......
restricted! aha (this is what gracenote does to your machine)
you don't fool me a second time, i thought.

potsmoke66,
>i did.... and part 4 seems to be currupted....
I downloaded all parts and extracted with no errors. Your end. Try clearing caches?

>typefaces (or remnants of) confusing our OS's
Your problem may be both OS and filesystem related.

Here's the deal.
The archives were downloaded combined and repacked in zip format.

When I extracted the files on another computer, They had lost their character encoding - and all the text was gibberish.

Repacked in RAR and the problem disappeared.

It looks like Winzip doesn't like Cyrillic characters then.

not only winzip, it's like i said, you can have restricted characters in a zip folder, but you can't extract with names not matching the conventions.
if we would compare the codepages for us and ru we could see why, i swear.
but doesn't matter why, these guys should just don't use characters that are non standart ascii, then everything would be fine. they must know better than we which of their typefaces is nonstandart in the list. or which gets through translation to code junk. at least we haven't so many letters as them.
to me it's a bit like i would expect everybody understands swiss-german
und es wür mir überhaupt ä kei problem mache ä so wiiterzschriibe aber dänn verstaht mich ja kei mensch.
so i have to use english if i like it or not.
fortunately, i like it

i will try your advice OzFalcon

Yes potsmoke, corrupted for me too
OzFalcon, if your tip doesn't work, could you redo your archive using your working version of FFE3D? Pretty please with sugar on top!

Default Cyrillic characters

The archive is not the problem.

I have tested on XP, Vista and Linux. They all extract with correct characters.

Ensure your OS has the correct language support installed.

Careful of XP's limited path length (Not sure if vista is the same).
