I realised that there wasn't a walkthrough for this anywhere online, so I posted one to an old blog of mine that had fallen into disuse. Hope it helps anyone stuck:

Ahhh, I've been fighting Riveren for 45 minutes without any result. Riveren had not even stolen the mask. Now I know what to do. Thanks.
