RCT started crashing consistently

Hi there

I've been playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 the last few months (I know, ridiculously old but SO fun, I'm addicted), building a massive park that's grown to be the size of the entire map.

However about a week ago, I crashed in-game for the first time. Now I crash every 15-30 minutes. I don't know exactly what changed that would cause this, but nothing that I can recall. I've tried reinstalling, getting rid of custom content, installing C++ redistributables, but nothing seems to work. I don't really know if this is a problem with the game and my park (too big?) or if something went wrong with my PC. The error in the crashdump RCT3 file says "Unhandled exception "Access Violation" in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Gold\RCT3plus.exe" at 0023:004669c1. Read from location 0144e000 caused an access violation"

I'll post the dxdiag, as well as the error logs in the RCT3 folder. Let me know what I can do... thanks

You can post the dxdiag report, but as it is quite large you will need to split it into several posts.

Is is a particular park that is crashing or any park that you load? What happens if you start a new park?

It is possible that the park has grown too big for your machine.

It is a particular park. Right now it's absolutely massive, but I don't see how my computer wouldn't be able to handle it. I have an i7, Radeon 6990 and 8gb of RAM. My computer might be the issue, as in there's something wrong with it, but not because it can't handle it.

Have you made any changes to your machine? Installed new software or updated drivers?

Try making sure that you have no other programs running at the same time as RCT3.

Also try running the game in windowed mode (you can select this from the in-game graphic options), do you get any error pop-ups?

Do you have any custom scenery installed?

The crashing only occurs after 20-25 minutes of game time, almost every single time. It's like a time bomb waiting to go off and I know it's going to happen and every minute that passes by brings it closer to doom lol. nothing in particular sets it off though, that I've seen.

And yes I've updated my drivers recently. I got a message at the end saying "installation complete (warnings occured during installation)", however my other more demanding games seem to be working fine. I'm still trying to figure out w hat's wrong here though and fix it. It could very well be the cause of my problem, but I don't know.

It doesn't give me an error when I run in windowed mode, however I'm not sure if it will crash or not.

And yes I do have some custom scenery, but it's been working fine up until a week ago (I don't have that much of it - some custom stalls and particle effects)

RCT3 is a more demanding game than you realise as you're constantly expanding the amount of work it has to do. Most games have static levels that are specifically optimized, you can't do that in RCT3.

What happens if you save the game just before you would expect it to crash and load the new save? Does thetime interval remain the same or change?
