Americas Animal Pack: How You'd Have Done It

Bear with me. This used to be a thread for speculating the remainder of the roster.

Okay, now that we have the official roster for the Americas Animal Pack, I want to know how you'd have done it.

Here's how I'd do it:
  • Coyote
  • Coatimundi
  • Greater Rhea
  • Black Howler Monkey
  • Brazilian Porcupine
  • Bush Dog
  • Tamandua
  • WE: Macaws (This was the PERFECT opportunity.)

I'd be happy for mara and coati,
would also be happy for ocelot, quanaco, jackrabbit, wood bison, jaguarundi, bobcat, ringtail cat, black bear, kit fox and if birds then roadrunner or quail.
...I am not sure if I match with the region tho (we still don't know the name of the pack too)

I'm going to be really, really disappointed if one of the 2 remaining slots doesn't go to a coati species despite being thrilled to get a coyote. For the 2nd slot, I don't really mind what it is. There are multiple animals I'd be happy with as long as I got a coati: bush dog, golden lion tamarin, common marmoset, Patagonian mara, a duck species, American black bear, ocelot, bobcat, sea otter, American river otter, roseate spoonbill, scarlet ibis, any macaw species, agouti, tamandua, Brazilian porcupine, any South American armadillo species, etc.

  1. I will cry tears of happiness for the American black bear and/or golden lion tamarin
  2. I would also love a coati, ocelot, or another popular monkey
  3. A mara, Arrau turtle, or tamandua would be pretty good
  4. I would like to see a musk ox, North American deer, white faced whistling duck, mallard duck, and scarlet ibis before support ends, but they don't seem like good fits for the currently proposed lineup.

I'm a sucker for the smaller critters. I would personally love to see:
1. Patagonian Mara
2. Red-Rumped Agouti
3. Argentine Tegu
4. Giant Kangaroo Rat
5. Southern Tamandua

The only two options that wouls make me trully happy: coati and patagonian mara.

Acceptable alternatives for both: howler/spider/tamarin monkey and ibis/spoonbill/screamer/burrowing owl/roadrunner/brown pelican

Animals i want but not instead of the mara and coati (but would still like and be useful for me): ocelot, tamandua, agouti, brazilian tapir, argentinian tegu, guanaco/vicuña.

Animals i would hate as the final two: white tailed/mule deer, american black bear, bobcat.

In all seriousness, maybe after we get the announcement, I'll change it. That's being said, where's the harm being done? It's just digital media. We could post a thousand useless threads today if we all pitched in and stayed talking about the game.

I don't wanna be the 'well ackshully' person but only since you ask, it is against forum rules to make a thread if there is already one on the same topic. That's why when you start a thread, a window pops up asking if it's already being discussed. It clutters things up and makes useful threads harder to find. I guess it makes life harder for admins as well. Digital clutter is a real thing.

I do get that you don't want your notifications blowing up, but what we have here is essentially the exact same topic as the DLC19 discussion thread, just for a smaller group of people. It would be really considerate of you to repurpose this thread if you want to do use it for another topic in a week's time...it just makes life easier for others. Also idk what your notification settings are but mine are all turned to silent and I don't find anything annoying or overwhelming when the major threads get busy, I only see them when I open the forum up.

FYI server space costs carbon emissions so, although the impact of forum threads may be tiny, it's not zero, in case that is new information for you. Added up, the carbon cost of everyone's email is actually a major contributor and so it's good practice to delete digital stuff you don't use for the sake of the planet 🌳 so...everyone posting a thousand useless threads is not such a harmless idea 🙃

I much rather have well sorted thread instead of posting absolutely everything in one. It's also against the forum rules to discuss things off topic and the moment people post india theme ideas in the current DLC 19 thread after the teaser, that is exactly that.

Regarding the remaining roster of the new DLC, I think a Coati is a given. The second free spot I am very anxious about, not gonna lie. It could be something awesome like Mara or another monkey. It could also be something terrible like another Lynx or any oddball that is not found in zoos. Frontier has a habbit of making really questionable choices at times....

Okay, I'm trying to get this thread title changed to "Americas Animal Pack: How You'd Have Done It." Does anyone know how to change a title or request a title change? I'm not the most technically savvy person.

No. I think You have to ask a mod, but i know how i would have done this pack lol

1. Replace american flamingo for roseate spoonbill (more interesting choice with a larger range through out the Américas)
2. Get rid of coyote and add coati (any of the two main species i don't care at this point)
3. I'm torn on getting rid of the bighorn sheep or the bush dog but i absolutly would have trade one of them for the Patagonian mara. Most likely the sheep.
