    I'll take that analogy. Open is like the open sea. There are sharks out there, but the chance of you having a bad encounter with one are vanishingly small if you employ some basic precautions. A CG or new alien discovery in open is like chucking a bucket of blood in the water. There is fun to be had in those situations, but your rebuy is most definitely at risk. Mobius/solo is like a swimming pool. It's safe, but dull. How about this. I will be your lifeguard. Start playing in open. The first time you get killed in PvP, message me with a screenshot of the rebuy screen and I'll transfer equivalent in game assets to you. You can then go back to solo proven right but having lost nothing.

    Considering Star Citizen doesn't currently have native VR support, it's not really a valid comparison. With Skyrim, the scale itself is considerably smaller, on the human (or similar life-form) scale, so it's a bit easier to keep that sense of scale. With ED I think it's the balance between wanting to keep a sense of scale and needing to have the controls and functions you need on the flat monitor. ED's scale becomes much more obvious in VR, that's definitely a thing.

    They have been clear from the start about what the focused feedback "sessions" are for: letting players know about their specific plans, and getting feedback on them before they are actually implemented and let loose upon the beta players. (If a majority of players would go "for the lava god, that's a terrible idea" over something, best to change that before it reaches beta!) General feedback, on the other hand, is for the suggestions and feature requests forum. In game development, such forums are often useful to have, to get a general feel of what might need changing, but when it comes to ideas that are actually good and feasible to implement, those tend to be few. Which is little wonder, because outside of the company, nobody knows how the game works, how many resources can be assigned to development, and so on. We should soon see.     On top of that, I've recently read that CMDRs automatically leave these Top 5 Boards after 5 (or 10?) Days? It's all just.... an extremely weird design IMHO.

    The bounty board actually isn't helpful anyway... I think it should be changed to display most notorious CMDRs and only count for PvP crimes. After committing a crime they should be locked out of the other modes until their bounty is claimed.

    Thanks Commanders! o7 I forgot to comment in my daze last night that I was mighty impressed with the Conda and it's a ship that you really need to look over thoroughly for details. I love the glass areas you can actually see into in the big square-ish section below, the door that would presumably be for the fighter bay, and it took me a little bit to notice the forward glass observation area on the prow. Very cool. Thank you, and the name just seems to fit her well so I'm delighted.

    Absolutely bang on. Arma 3 has so much user made content that no one plays the official missions, especially online. There are many single player campaigns from World War 2, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. There is even Halo and Star wars mods. You are limited only by your hard drive.

    I've always thought that the sense of scale in Elite Dangerous was "off", but having recent played some games in PSVR to then come back to ED, the scale really feels broken. This isn't just because I've gotten used to VR immersion. The best example I can give is Skyrim VR. It's amazing to actually walk around Skyrim, and it does give a more accurate sense of scale, but if I go back to 2D Skyrim, my mind still keeps that sense of scale. Having taken a break from ED, I went back and everything feels tiny, even though I know it's supposed to be huge. I don't have this problem with any other game. NMS is probably the closest game I have to ED, and things feel to proper scale there. So I'm left wondering if ED is "wrong" in how it's rendering its world on a 2D screen. Sitting in my Anaconda, for example, feels more like a dragster than a massive aircraft-carrier sized spaceship. It really breaks the immersion (say it Yamiks, say it!) to the point where I might go back to flying just small ships to try to...

    Well, the Top 5 Bounty Boards hold the CMDR Names, so they must know. If it only listed the Ships, I'd agree. But the CMDR Names are always there. Plus, it'd be super weird to somehow Bounty-Hunt for Ships xD PS. I remember I joked during the initial C&P Feedback Threads : Top 1 Bounty : Federal Assault Ship "You'll never get me alive!", last seen mothballed at Jamesons Memorial. (like : how helpful would that Info still be for PvP Bounty Hunting ?)

    click ctrl+alt+space all at the same time and watch the magic happen. you can also turn of the UI by pressing ctrl+alt+g at the same time, you turn it on again by pressing the same combination.

    Just a muse really but was taking the aspx for a deep space spin and came across metal body with promised volcanos etc I could land on. Nice. Anyhoos forgot to check gravity of planet and gentle descent was almost brown trouser time. Top tip; check the simple things and dont get complacent! NB: would recommend any new players to check out videos etc to land/take off high g planets before tackling one.

    Well maybe they identify the ship in 0.1 seconds and not the pilot? Since the discussion is about lore and immersion anyway that just makes sense. I do agree that the bounty board should report the ship ID in that case though.

    Once I found that you can turn them off I pretty much never use "display orbits" on my hud, way to much clutter. Rarely I turn them back on to get the idea how system looks "orrery style".

    Except they have no issue instantly identifying you in ELITE. They know 0.1s after you commit any crime. They even post that Data together with your last known location in their Top 5 Boards. Hence, unfortunately it doesn't make any sense at all. (and in all places where this isn't true - there's no such thing as "Crime" anyway)
