If there was a pvp off toggle, I’d be in open all the time. I simply have no interest in being interactive content for someone else to shoot at.

A question about open, I play a mix of open / private / solo and last night I was on alone and decided to play open. I enjoy seeing other Hollow square boxes on the screen and some of the local chat. I was flying to my home system to turn in some missions as well starting to buy some new Power Play mats for ZH. On my way home I was interdicted and told there was a blockade and I could either high wake out or get blown up. I thought cool; letís see how my piloting skills are. I salute; turn to run and low wake out. So I saw the box once again on my radar and once again I am fighting interdiction. This time I submit, and with all pips to engines, I low wake again. I am determined Iím getting home. The determined blockade protector also kept coming. I tried to keep him guessing, I would drop super cruise, and just fly till I saw him in the instance then I would once again low wake out and this little cat and mouse kept going all the way back to my orbital. I dare say it was fun and more exciting...

To OP: I asked for a screenshot of the main star before, but on second thought, could you please share bodies 1-3 as well, or easier, just upload the system data to EDSM and/or EGO? The program EDDiscovery can take care of that quickly for you. I'm asking because I'd like to recreate the system, and see how the orbits would end up.

Where it comes to HOTAS joysticks only you can know what is most comfortable for you to use. I have a Saitek X52 Pro, and I like it. I did have the X52, and it was ok, but it let me down. If you know anybody (in real life) who has a HOTAS ask them if you can give it a try.

My immersion would be quite broken if the station im docked in goes "poof" and im sitting in a depowered ship and a hyperspace animation starts. i would blame thargoids.

let's say what you say is true. From a third, independent and external point of view: it seems that the problem is exactly Colonia ... I do not think it is entirely intentional ... rather a mistake made to try to make the Colonia group happy.

I don't think this is the case. For starters, that 50G world I posted a few days back (a rocky world itself) is in a barycentric orbit with a T Tauri, and although I can't find one currently I'm certain I've seen gas giants in barycentric orbits with gas giants. I think what's more likely is that even if the barycenter is outside a body, if it's substantially closer to one of the bodies it will be shown as orbiting it. In fact, I ran the numbers. In ~80% of cases where a gas giant is presented as the first moon of a solar body, the barycenter lies outside the solar body. But if r1 + r2 = sma, then r1 never exceeds 23.5% of sma. I don't promise my calculations a re correct though - it is Monday, after all. based on eddb data from 6th Oct

The mission is supposed to appear when you land at Obsidian Orbital. There was a bug early on that delayed the mission message: the lag caused it to appear at random times while flying, giving the impression it was coming from NPCs. Maybe you are seeing that again.

In the areas with high probability of hyperdiction, it's a good idea to use jumponium. (If you like fooling around in the SRV you will probably have dozens of charges) If you do that but leave the jumponium router unticked in the galmap, it effectively doubles the number of jumps your ship can do. :) (But yeah, good that you equipped bigger tank, anyway. You can always leave it half empty for fighting, but it's nice to have the option of more than one jump when necessary. :D)

NHSS is indeed best place for it. Pick a system that spawns a ton and you'll have one in no-time, plus a bunch of stuff for S&R and some credits. And ofcourse the data. :D

yep for several years, but unfortunately now I did another job. are you too? I am very pleased to receive your positive feedback, Elite's game from kickstarter and I think the FD has the chance to improve the planets a lot. But it is not possible, in my opinion, to pursue realism. Instead, the FD has to focus on credible solutions.

Okay, seems like my Hutton run is postponed again... I want to haul some Thargoid-Stuff for Prof. Palin for a while first. My nerf-nerve tells me that Prof. Palins well Paying Probe-Prospecting missions won't last forever... :-)

Why do you fail to understand that this is not a result of introducing Colonia missions? This a result of nerfing rest of mission system too much. Which happened recently after FD made it too easy, shipped it - then panicked when they've realised they've screwed up. I totally realise that you want reasonable middle ground - so do I. However FD seems unable to produce middle ground, but only extremes. For whatever reason, which surely exists (yeah, maybe balancing underlying system is hard, whatever). They could remove Colonia missions in an hour. This will not make rare materials appear in rest of missions - because this will still require tuning of main mission gen/BGS.
