    If we can only equip our ships for one type of mining at a time, we all know how RNGesus will spite us. When you don't have vanilla mining lasers, all you will see is 60% painite vanilla roids. When you aren't fitted for deep-core mining, all you will see is deep core roids. etc. The FD design team must be having quite a giggle over this.

    I think this is a bad idea. It's overly ambitious, and I feel would overcomplicate things. It's sort of adding too many new things instead of enhancing/fixing the way existing things work. - Why blasting charges? Why not let players use normal, existing weapons to blast the asteroid open? - The last thing we need is more modules. Particularly when we already have a big, huge, giant glaring balance problem, one that Engineers made exponentially worse - adding yet more new modules into the mix is going to make it even harder to start addressing it. - A new "analysis mode" HUD? How would you justify that existing for asteroids but not for other activities like combat (for focusing on subtargets), SRV prospecting, and so on? - Not to mention, how can you justify adding yet more HUD elements when you STILL have yet to fix the HUD setup so that we can customize the HUD colors on the fly ingame without breaking character portraits and so on? If you add a big new HUD thing, that job is going to become even...

    Haha, you know me, I've never been one to sugarcoat to adults, it's better to be concise and get straight to the point ;) The clutching at "Sandro must not have been talking about the whole playerbase, it's Powerplay only right?" straws is intriguing. It's been well-known for years that Open has the most active playerbase, FDev are just now being more open with specific data (Open is the majority by a significant margin). I think it's fantastic that FDev are becoming confident in disclosing such information. But it is odd that some CMDRs are trying to convince themselves of something that wasn't said just to satisfy their misconceptions.

    So if they introduced a bunch of new scanners and then meant that explorers couldn't discover everything anymore you'd be fine with that? Or if bounty hunters were only able to kill 1/4 of the enemy ships (with which 1/4 depending on outfitting choices)?

    Well, as we know the majority of players play in open - why do we need to lock content there? There is no PP bogeyman hiding in Solo ruining PP for everyone - so it does not need to be locked to open. Leaving it as it is means people on holiday, on business trips (aka bad net connections) and those with conditions/disorders can still enjoy PP without having to worry about "trolls" / "griefers".

    Find the formula for the missions rather than a system name. Systems can change over night, but the formula's are the same. As already mentioned, Tourist economies, systems that have stations under attack and need evacs, etc. are the criteria you want to use to find systems that have good passenger missions (which of course you get with higher rep). Next week you very well need to go searching for another system as your current good system may have changed it's economy, state, or other...

    More to the point the danger is that they will invest massive time and effort 'revamping' mining ... only for 3 of the 4 modes to be 'worthless'. In which case we just swap one mode of mining for another ... and then what was the point of that?
