Pretty sure they can soon just start releasing outfits in the same colours as the first ones and people won't notice. Like, would they mind releasing some outfits that actually look different rather than releasing them all in a myriad different shades?

So would I as that is an Ice world. It would be odd if metalic and rocky worlds looked like that.

It is all about perspective. The higher you are, the slower you seem to be moving. The truck and sports car example above is spot on. Another thing to think about, is how long you have been travelling at high and higher speeds. If you travel for a couple of hours along the motorway at 70mph and then you turn off at the exit ramp and slow down to between 20 and 30mph; it feels so slow, that you could be tempted to get out of the car and walk faster, because everything has slowed down so much. Yet if you did try and get out, you would be splattered all over the tarmac.

Isn't the fact that Mac users can only run the base game a valid reason for keeping it available?

Well, we play games for different reasons. And differently designed games tend to serve different ways to playing them differently. There are games who are full of 'achievement' hits. They are mostly fast paced, short sessions, giving nice upgrades. Everspace - while still having very Rogue like feel - you will die a lot - it gives out upgrades like candies. It provide small hits of success. I enjoy Everyspace immensely. But I rarely remember experience of it. It just feels 'fast food' for me. Elite Dangerous is designed for journey. I am tired saying that and I will get automatic replies about not making people playing my way but... I am not trying. I am EXPLAINING why they struggle. It is quite basic really. There's no devil plan to make game grindy because of pay to win, or because it is tin of content (you might still see ED thin on content not related on 'grind gameplay').

Definitely. If FDev actually wanted to bother with exploration (one of the key tenets of Elite) than this could herald a "new era of exploration" in the game. And the new ships would coincide with the launch of Distant Worlds 2. More dedicated exploration ships would be great, and not the Saud Kruger line.

Your 770 won't be able to do 60Hz @ 4K over HDMI but nothing to stop you trying ED at 30Hz and marvelling at all those pixels, if only for a short while :) "3840x2160 at 30Hz or 4096x2160 at 24Hz supported over HDMI. 4096x2160 (including 3840x2160) at 60Hz supported over Displayport" from https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-770/specifications

Look at it as a support for narative in a weak sense (i.e. as stuff that you might want to include in your storry, like backdrop or color) then it's kinda ok. But... personal narative in the "common sense" sense ? nope. For me a personal narative using those would be building a typical P&P RPG 5x5 quest/donjon design involving cool locations, tech brockers, thargoids, mysteries and elite lore in a neat package. FDev have the locations, the lore and the tools to do it. I feel that having an experienced GM on payroll would not hurt them.

Its the lack of objects to compare with: you are flying way higher than you think. Find a flat piece of land, go to 10m high and boost. Or do a lowpass over a base. I have a vid at <100m somewhere, will post later if you want.

Hah, your reaction was identical to mine! My girlfriend was on the couch next to me, I was so excited to see them start out with the new planet tech. But three minutes later when Ed panned over to the Chieftain and the focus switched with the comment “the star of the show”, well I guess my reaction was something of jaw wide open and a look of disbelief, because my gf just started giggling and said “uh oh” out loud. My total sadness was devastating. If I could change one thing about Frontier as a company, it would be to have them care about exploration as much as I do.

It's just another flavour of big ship,it's fun but I enjoy my conda more. And the Cutter is better in combat if it's used right...that's not an opinion it's a fact(just takes practice).
