Sounds like you may need a bigger gun (or more of them), or possibly a better power distributer. I am not sure of the exact weapon damage output requirements - I have been using a single Large LR engineered Burst personally. The process for charging the pylons is the same regardless of whether you are talking about the space based Beacons or the terrestrial Structures. You need to continually shoot a specific spot on the pylon while it charges (there will be an initial high pitched charging whine that increases in pitch as charge increases) and when it is fully charged there will be a loud deep sounding noise and the lightning effect should be triggered at that point.

What you're saying is more of a casual tournament for the fun of it, there's a sister server to the PvP League called the PvP Hub where we host fun events like this. I'd recommend checking it out Invite to that discord: https://discord.gg/cBbND3x When a ruleset is voted on by the community at large, it usually satisfies most people :) And the heat bug was brought up, and we are discussing about it

Holo-me is either one of two things: (1) The greatest waste of time and effort in the history of FD and ED, adds absolutely nothing to the game except as a venue for ego fuelled narcissists to spend money on the next snazzy outfit at the FD store. or (2) The first tiny step into the world of Space Legs, letting the player create his/her/it's avatar that will eventually be a mobile bi-pedal asset in the game.

I'm thinking of giving keyboard and mouse a spin after a year using a HOTAS. Is anybody using one of the one-handed keyboards? if so how have you found it/them and any recommendations/advice?

Yup same. Been suggesting this forever. We need an Exploration focused SLF. We also need SLFs that can in general be in different instances than the mothership.

Don't forget, the station actually tells you when you're aligned via the scanner, with the station-blob becoming an up-arrow or down-arrow depending on your vector. If you have the tools and the knowledge, I guess designing bots to overcome obstacles is quite an interesting challenge. It's just using them to do stuff like earn credits or have an effect on the BGS that's a crappy thing to do.

I like the idea of the most basic paintjobs becoming available with some attaining of ranks or accomplishments. The powerplay decals could have been segregated where only pledged cmdrs to an exclusive power could have access. Otherwise I'm fine with the majority of the paintjobs in place of a monthly subscription to help Frontier pay for ED's use of AWS. (AmazonWebServices)

Quite a few have touted similar ideas. I even put a suggestion in the suggestions sub-forum. That appears to be the place that good ideas go to die....

Ok, did you activate the other 2 inside the time? You need to activate all 3 inside the time. Edit: I activated several using only a small railgun, though sometimes it's not obvious which ones still need doing - you'll get the idea - keep trying!

You keep comparing the new system vs the old as wholes. But what the people who have reservations about the new system complain about is just about the new initial "honk", not the persistent USSs, not the probes, not the planetary , space and ring POIs. Most people, for what I've seen, are perfectly fine with most changes. It's just the initial way to locate the panets that is the divisive point, not all the rest. I fully agree that POIs, both in space and planets, should be the focus of exploration. I just don't see why we have to sacrifice the initial system map for that. Finding planet locations is not the same as finding POIs across the system and especially on planets, and one thing does not depend on the other. Unless suddenly there are a lot of POIs at nearly all systems, and especially very diverse POIs (which I highly doubt in both cases), parking at entry point and peeking through a telescope is going to get old very, very fast, and ultimately make exploration become even more boring than it...

Saltyseadog replied to a thread Federal Corvette Rear Admiral's lounge in Ships of Elite
Here is one for you chaps who are cleverer than me at working out engineering upgrades. I have been more than happy with my long term Corvette build Penny Royal running missions etc for the various factions in my home region and started amassing quite a bit of credits. I have tried and sold most of the ships in Elite over the years but just prefer the Corvette. Anyway last week I decided to buy a second Corvette, fit all A rated modules and a new set of the weapon rig out that I prefer and then engineer the whole lot from scratch. I finished last night and the resulting ship I have called Sunioli. Now my idea for this was to take the best module from each of them and end up with a single "super" Corvette so I started this morning going through both ships attributes attempting to compare them and have quickly found that at 68yrs young I understand little of it other that regarding weight, speed, damage per second. So I decided to post a thread here with the details of both ships and ask for the opinions,...

Wait, you mean there were more than 100 people listed, surely that would be a list of everyone who worked (past tense) on the game, those working currently on the game could be written on a playing card in 28pt font. Yeah, too many have taken what FD have accomplished for granted, or just not recognised what FD have achieved - good thread !

Taking one odd thing in ED at a time. Starting with the commander creator, holo me. When this first arrived, almost by surprise, just over a year and a half ago, it looked pretty impressive. It is actually a really well done character generator, loads of options, it looks great, and it's been refined since launch, adding new save slots, cleaner UI and a load of additional store items to spice it up. However, it's pretty strange really. We only see our character in about two internal camera angles, and from a distance externally. There is very limited movement, we can't for example, ever see our holo me stand up in game (other than the creation screen), move around or.... Well, anything. I'm sure we all thought that we'd be seeing ourselves walk around our ships, enter and leave ships, maybe limited station interaction (sitting in a bar to see the mission board, greet the faction leaders to hand in missions etc), something along those lines. Not full on space legs, but just little scenes where we see...
