    With so many guardian artifacts in one place and the computerised military ideas put forwards to fight the Thargoids does anyone see us "resurrecting" the Guardians? taking into account the artifacts are still live and could be fragments of AI so having loads in one place could bring enough together to bring it back much in the same way as pieces of a puzzle. Thoughts?

    That server mesh stuff is intended for the end of the year iirc, interesting that they're viewing post server-meshing builds as pre-alpha still. When do they intend to move into alpha proper?

    I've posted loads of ideas about NPC crew death that adds gameplay, rather than just serves to fullfil a sense of loss. NPC crew is very new and bare bones right now. I find it hard to believe that they'll stay that way, but at the same time, placeholders are FDs specialty. Lol Here's a big old list of suggestions I've made recently.     I use Facebook as a means for old school friends to find me. But I never actually post anything, I just use messenger. Last time I used Facebook, I'd set it up so people's random dull posts didn't show up. So it was basically just a list of adverts. Lol Not really interested in knowing what someone's had for lunch, or that they've done the chores, or taken a dump. Lol I have Twitter, but I basically only use that to complain when EE stops working.

    The most open fd have been about the bgs are the early forum posts by michael brookes that were famously ambiguous. The jan 2016 forum post and the 2x bgs livestreams. Almost everything else is observation and experience. Thats part of the challenge and fun of working the bgs. The problem is that attempting to retro engineer its workings often leads us downs false paths based on flawed or incorrect assumptions. It also changes, sometimes without notice. As the recent education on murder mechanics reminded me yet again! There is a reason hamsters feature large in bgs discussions. Sometimes we are hamsters in fds bgs maze.

    I guess we extracted something different from it. ;) Of course, half of it was a complaint about engineers and its effect on the game, which is fair enough. PvP is a tool that can be used in the game. Not a great one, but its a cool. But he said combat in the title, not PvP. If the question is why why isn't PvP not accepted as a tool... again, it is. Just not a very powerful one. I think the devs like it like that. Whether that is a good or bad thing is a different discussion.

    AMD fan? Hehe. Seems ok to me, little behind on some of the new AMD stuff. Why only 1 stick of ram? I might be old fashioned, but doesn't it run in dual channel with 2x8gb? Also, when did you last use your dvd drive? :P They're becoming rapidly obsolete. I've got one in my tower, but I don't actually have anything to put in it. Lol

    Yeah, i can imagine some people feel that way, but at the end of the day most CGs are not actually designed to be opposed. There are the rare opposing ones, but most are just a case of fill buckets. Its not like any group could ever stop a CG even if everyone was flying in Open, although they could of course disrupt. Opposing CGs make more sense in this context. I suppose for a trade CG some people want the excitement. I simply cannot imagine though why anyone would bother doing a bounty hunt one in open. Constant competition over limited targets and the chance of being shot in the back while going after bounties. Amazed anyone actually ever gets to hand any bounties in at all playing in Open.

    Guys, please knock it off with this argument about what Anarchy is. You both have differing ideas, the game the mechanics we have discussed here with how it works and how it affects the C&P which is all good and tbh that's all that matters, wording is almost semantics. Thanks.

    Perhaps, but anyone that ignores cost/rebuys as a factor is ignoring important elements of balance in ED. It does not matter if you have 100 Cr or 1B Cr, cost is still a major part of ship balance considerations. Too many times in these forums people in general argue for either nerfs or buffs for ship X or Y without regard to ship cost or other legitimate considerations. That being said, if money is no object/consideration to Beluga owners then arguing from a stand point of ship X can earn them more money than ship Y is a bit of a ridiculous footing. As it stands, when considering the rate of return on investment between the Orca and the Beluga they can both perform about the same (capability v. price) without sacrificing capabilities or features of either. I work on a principle of a minimum of 1 Rebuy, but prefer to operate with a comfort zone of 2. When I purchase a new ship, I try to make sure I can at least keep flying one of the productive ships in my fleet which affords me considerable latitude...
