The Fallout 76 rules wouldn't work well in Elite Dangerous, but I think there could be rules which work. Meanwhile, I'll fly in the Mobius group when I don't want the potential hassle.

So letís establish for the sake of argument that the new scanning system is an attempt to make it seem more realistic. By instantly sharing system data to all CMDRs across the entire galaxy once that data has been sold at a station, the devs have completely demolished that attempt. But I guess if we can accept GalNet Audio we must accept that.

I respect the logic and realism in you ideas (I do agree 100% with what you are saying logic wise :) ) But... I think the reason why this hasn't been done is that it would be really, really harsh. The thing is, I could not give less of a fudge for Powerplay, it is a broken, tedious, motovation-less mess (In my eyes anyway :D ) if it went tomorrow I would not hesitate in the slightest. it's the modules that I care about. and unfortunately require me to actually take part in this system in some way. I'd rather the modules removed elsewhere with a permanent solution and powerplay buffed in some other way than the current system, as you suggested having them removed on rebuy (no doubt with all the engineer blueprints attached) would be menacing. if I lost my Challenger i'd lose my size 6 prismatic G5, Pacifier G5, and 3 Pack hounds G5 As I usually don't pledge to a power unless I want something from them (Because that is literally all they are good for :D) and have to wait anouther 3 months to get them...

You've just eliminated one of your most reliable sources of game data, so I'd dispute your findings here.

Vash627, thank you for the polite reply. Repped for being civil. Braandlin, thank you for giving me something to laugh at. People that are that hypocritical always amuse me, at least when they aren't in the White House. Doing EVERYTHING you accuse me of in the same sentance you accuse in is... impressive. the100thmonkey, I couldn't tell whether you are being sarcastic or not; either way, you need to work on the delivery. As to the various, "you are wrong" elements, I notice that you talk about the new mechanics without addressing my points or proving me wrong in a specific fashion. Am I wrong that you'll have to point the ship at each object to see the analysis of that object? That is the core of my objection, after all because THAT will take more time than the system map TO REACH THE DECISION POINT of the system's worth in terms of further exploration. I don't want to waste the time looking at potatoes, even if it is only TO DETERMINE that they are potatoes not worth my time in the first place....

How does a docking computer help bots? Every time I've used a docking computer to land (I can count the times on one hand), it's screwed up and rammed me into the station or outpost.

Are you making Mr Angry from Purley noises about this for any other reason than some ill perceived and imagined slight to all console players by FDev? The differences in visual quality will be minor at's not like you're having some second rate port over chucked on your Xbox. Listen to the comment from the live stream in the context it was given...namely discussing some graphical effects in the quality of volumetric fog that may need a higher end PC to show off to it's fullest extent. It's not like FDev are deliberately denying console players something they're designing purely and secretely for the PC Master Race. All of the graphic updates and new lighting maps will be identical and visible on all platforms, they made a strong point about that in the stream...which is a feat in itself...and you're fussing about some wispy cloud effects purely in order to appear aggrieved? All in all, the % of PC players who have high end gaming rigs is relatively small...especially amongst those playing...

What on earth are you even talking about here? Clearly you failed to take my advice, but you turned it up a notch by making stuff up about *me* making stuff up? What the frell? I'd tell you to take your own medicine with your final attempt at a jab there, but if you're not prone to taking my advice to begin with, there's just no helping you. __ Depends on what you're looking for, I'd say....

No problems Southeast USA; but then I've only played 12 hours in the last two days. Sorry to hear, when it does happen I realize how addicted I am to ED and dig deep to prove I'm not--it never works. Good luck Cmdrs, o7!

A rated FSD, biggest fuel scoop you can afford, I think im using the 6B fuel scoop on my asp. And A rated power plant. The rest should be D rated. A rated power plants have less chance of overheating while scooping and for me actually ended up raising jump range. And of course the AFMU, srv and discovery scanners (both).

Well I would just wait and see, I am not very optimistic about this new feature but I am willing to give it try. I am just pleased that something new is on the horizon as I am quite bored now.

Right but if we accept the honk and we now have list of objects.. imaged just like that. What i want is for them to leave the system map how it is now. You honk and you get the planets. I dont care what information they want to withhold to make you tune the thingy, but when you honk you should get to see what is there. Almost instantly. Taking that away removes that initial choice of "do i want to investigate further"
