If I had to guess what the OP is talking about, it's an installation called "Hidden Mining Group" in the LHS 3447 system, which is in a tight orbit around a high-gravity object so is difficult to zoom in on using the FSS.

What? You're talking instantaneous dps without including time to reload or time to make another close pass. 2k-3k dps is a gross misrepresentation of what frags can do. They are the highest DPS weapons in the game, but nowhere near 2-3k. Even if you fully load out an anaconda with gimballed OC screening frags and get 100% accuracy with every pellet against a target with reinforced shields, proper boosters, and is sitting idle in front of you, you're barely going to break 150 dps. Using instantaneous dps values alone (not to mention neglecting resistances) has no meaning. Frags have to reload. Factor in that time and your DPS drops a lot. A gimballed 3C frag with OC and screening goes from 366 instantaneous down to 73.7. The burst is that much faster than the reload time. Then in a real fight, you generally only get to unload that damage on a close pass, which isn't going to be 100% accurate. Further, you have to replace your reload time with your pass time. Example.

I am in Kekenk, and I had only one single NHSS after 10 minutes cruising.

Hey, Yes, no matter how many times I restarted the game, I could login on the launcher and get to the main menu; but at that point it says my IP changed. This is the second time this has happened. Both times I just went and did something else for about an hour. Tad annoying. If it happens again, I'll try to release/flushdns/renew my network and see if that fixes it. I don't go through a proxy, but I did check anyway, thanks :)

Absolutely not! Totally opposed to arbitrarily limiting slot choices in any way. In fact what we should be asking for is a reduction of the limitations imposed by slots, not more limitations. If somebody's smart enough to figure out how to build a ship that does something especially well they should be applauded for doing so, not punished by having arbitrary limitations inflicted on them. It's up to FDev to come up with more inventive ways of "guiding" a ships intended role, at the design stage, by the use of factors like power, heat and weight - not just making it impossible to fit certain modules into certain slots.

I actually thought I've read a Frontier post some time ago, that they intend to do exactly this. I was surprised it was not in the 3.3 release. This is very much needed.

Anyone ever see these, spent like 20 minutes trying to scan it buts its traveling at roughly 10km/d out of hyper drive. Located outside lhs 3447 have pictures of it flying and a video but could not get any scans.

I'd already be happy if all those different limpet controllers would be unified into one universal limpet control module. That would make ships that bit more versatile and content more readily available.

Right now, we have 'encounters', which consist of Thargoid interceptors pulling you out of hyperspace and inspecting you - and sometimes attacking, if they find you to have Thargoid items on you. Obviously, they don't like humans researching them. These are really, really cool - a while ago I was flying my courier through the Pleiades, with Thargoid meta-alloys in my hold, and not one, not two, but three thargoids pulled me out of witchspace. 2 Medusae, 1 Hydra. I dumped ALL of those meta-alloys, they collected them, I scurried off. But that's not the point - point is, they're really fun. Why not make it a little more accessible to the common player? In the days of the first Human-Thargoid conflict, commanders were known to be pulled out of hyperspace by octogonal vessels - which we now know to be the Scouts, not the interceptors. This makes sense, considering these commanders could destroy the aliens which assailed them. it was a bit of a tough fight, sure, but not impossible. Put this feature into...

The absurd hit point inflation is the core issue here. Increased ammo is a band aid for a cancerous growth. Since too many grindaholics will throw a tantrum if the shield boosters get nerfed, instead all weapons need to get damage output per shot increased (the same thing basically but with a different look) shooting a ship down shouldn't be a fight of attrition the way it is now.

considering that both FSS and the SRV's wave scanner pick up noise for various objects that are unique to the objects it would make some sense to add audio cues or some kind of audio signal to point out ground sites. I support it.

Translation: I don't want new players picking up this game and thinking they're allowed to have an opinion. I just want the option to be a d-bag troll and grief them until they uninstall. Because right now they're sole joy in the game is to ensure others hate the game. There's no benefit to killing other players, other than knowing they lost everything they were carrying, failed their mission and have to spend a horde of credits rebuy their ship. The penalties to the killed player are significantly worse than the penalty towards the d-bag trolls. The same reason any MMO allows players to get the top-tier items--you were able to grind for it. Yeah, those missiles mean players are screwed when it comes to being interdicted.

Bad idea. Too many ships are already too similar. This would be a boring game if the ships all had the same stats.
