Yeah, it's worth repeating that FD tweaked some of the original submissions shown in the OP, in several cases removing (or altering slightly) some of the additional wording. In the livestream you can see what is presumably closer to the final ads. I must say what I was blown away by is that not only have they chosen the winners, they've already done the work to get them in-game and showed the winning designs off at an in-game location (well, at least until Ed got blown up! :p). I really had not expected that and thought there'd be a whole extra round of to-and-fro with the designers to refine the images and then implement them. Good job FD, it's terrific to see you really move quickly on something like this!

Refining and adapting existing mechanics is especially important if features like carriers and squadrons and space legs are introduced. At the moment - about the same situation as with multi crew - I can't see what either feature would really add to the game. What is there for Squadrons to do? Since launch the game hasn't managed to provide a solid basis for PvP. So what are we gonna do with Carriers and Squadrons? The danger with introducing new mechanics with very little depth or very simplistic is players might loose interest in them before they are fleshed out. This is a basic problem playing early access games, by the way. I am OK with people being satisfied by just being able to walk around stuff, but this can't be the base line for a game. There needs to be more by definition. Also replicating existing functions and mechanics is optional at best but meaning problematic at worst, due to interfering current mechanics.

I just want my own home, and would rather have my own planetary hangar and storage-Tirrell's Dream. But a Farragut or even his big brother would be a dream too.

I run mine with high capacity - screening shell, same in mag damage as double shot(just delivers it a tiny bit slower), but twice the sustain. Overcharged is at the happy medium between the two with 70% of the burst damage of the double shot and 70% of the sustain of the high capacity.

Hey CMDRs, I can indeed confirm that unfortunately, the system listed is below the required specification which for convenience can be found here: If you send us in a ticket we can try to look into this further for you, however, there is not a great deal with the system in question i think we can do but we will give it our best shot! :)

I found one HGE yesterday in about 4 systems and 2 hours. But it did at least give 4 or 5 mats. I did wonder whether there had been a change, or whether it was just RNG.

Maybe alternate ways to do missions? PLANETARY MISSIONS Beacon Scan mission you can do now with driving SRV to the base and scan data beacon. You must also fight with skimmers or base automatic defense. The another way to do this mission could be to sneak to main complex and find your way to data center or server room. There you need to hack in and download data. In mission when you need to destroy base power plant you just fire from your ship. How if you could sneak in, kill defending it soldiers and set up bomb to explore close to it. Run for your life while timer is counting down. SHIP SALVAGE This mission you do now jumping in or finding ship on planet surface. Then collecting needed parts with limpets or SRV. Other way to do this mission could be that you walk /EVA spacewalk to the inside of the ship and dissemble needed part. Then return to your ship.

Okay, so module racks for dedicated hardware are probably incoming, so I'll rest that argument for now. What about the suggestion for the turrets/weapons. First of all, a paired mount would allow an easy way to bring rails and missiles into the larger weapon mounts, benefiting ships like the Vulture, if they can handle the heat of such weapons. Secondly, for defensive turrets, the paired weapons could offer better DPS and faster tracking of smaller ships, at the expense of hull piercing, when compared to a larger single weapon. That would make the choice down to whether the CMDR wants turrets for offense or defense. Thirdly, it could offer a way to install weapons that would traditionally be unavailable as turret or gimbal mounts, like rail and plasma, but be restricted to manned operation of turrets, or low piercing gimbals.

How are you gonna get three ships on it if it has no shipyard? For a group of explorers yes I can see the benefit. But for one person, not needed in the slightest.

No, there's NO indication of where they are to be found in game. See here: for complaints about this lack of in game info.

Buy a Cutter. Always Boost to grill. Nothing can stop you. Once thru grill, throttle to 0. Benefits are numerous; Cops get flattened; NPCs twaddling around the grill, get flattened. You get home faster for tea and crumpets.

I tend to think these will be an offshoot of the megaship, with the ability to designate next jump location periodically and have accessible docking pads with limited facilities. Folks have some dream of a pilotable farragut or majestic class interdictor like capital ship spewing dozens of fighters and mediums ships like some sort of angry space pinata and I reckon everyone is probably forgetting that Frontier build the game. Folks are (as usual) are going massively off the reservation because there's scant detail. This is Frontier; what can we reasonably expect. I think something like a mega-ship that relocates periodically is the most likely outcome here. Something we do not own, but have to jump through n hurdles and mechanics to gain access. Possibly with a requirement to maintain n hurdles per week to keep access. Because folks just love that decay. As for being able to dispatch one (and by proxy, oneself) across the galaxy? hahahaha okay Jaques Station should tell you that is just not gonna work...

Well I just consider that a tradeoff for playing on PC vs. console. If you really want to run multiple accounts, console is better, but the peirpherals and graphics options are far better on PC. Overall I prefer the ability to have a second multicrew account on PC much more than having the option for multiple logins on a single account on console.
