    The status quo isn't unassailable so the appeal to the current state of affairs at least for me isn't much of an answer to the question of whether there is some loss to the game for having exclusives or if this is one such case. Also preorder perks are terrible. I'd prefer to be able to evaluate content freely rather than be punished for not early onboading (cosmetics aside).

    Thing is Every small station has both Medium and Small landing pad so the 8 optional internals excuse failed. You can always get a larger ship with 8 internals that lands on a medium pad. Now if stations only had Small landing pads and no Large or medium pads. You might have a chance.

    The fact that it’s been an ongoing issue since the beginning from what other players have told me, doesn’t make it seem like you really are investigating it... it should have been fixed a long time ago.

    They do if you are playing in Open and want faster landing access at outposts (which have multiple small pads but only one medium pad) or are landing in rough terrain (basically all of the Guardian sites). Neither of those are small pad ships. The Anaconda can't land at outposts at all so it's not even a valid comparison. The Krait Phantom is a medium pad ship, is much more expensive not as easy to land at outposts or planets as a smaller ship which is why I specified small pad ships. Show me any small pad ship that can compete with the Cobra IV in exploration/rescue/mining roles. The next closest ship is probably the Viper IV and it has 6 optional internal slots and 1 military slot, and it has considerably less total internal space than the Cobra IV.

    They benefit is intangible to those who have access to the CIV thus causing them to incur no loss for it. Thus it's valueless save trolling. Such a wonderful thing to work to save I guess. Actually this is wrong, first for suggesting the argument was that the difference was intangible when a tangible difference was directly spelled out. Second for suggesting the rebuy is ignored when that actually has no bearing on the observation that a modified rebuy doesn't alter the ship. I wholly disagree with your comparison of importance between the 2 as one is insurmountable in terms of having access to a tool while the other is plainly not.

    It could be, yes. Can't dispute that of course because it's completely subjective. And the CIV is not a bad explorer, it has plenty of slots for equipment and would be a bit easier to land on a planet than a larger ship. But these people missed the boat. FDev wanted to motivate customers to buy straight away rather than later, and those that did got a disappointing but exclusive ship. I think the best you could say is that you don't think they should do it again, and that particular lesson has probably been taken on-board (assuming Stigbob's un-cited assertion to be correct). Personally I think it would be a shame if they were to avoid doing this again, or cop out of giving the PS4 early buyers access because part of the community is unable to come to terms with the concept of exclusivity and pre-order perks.

    Emphasis on "small", small ships do not have enough advantages to warrant their use over medium and large, for example, in the exploration example, if you want a ship with many slots to do whatever you will use the Anaconda, the Krait Phantom if you want to keep some more speed and manuverability (both of which are not strong points of the CMkIV).

    No, it is not totally broken but there are some serious bugs. Doing nothing to win an election? No this does not happen every time in every system but does frustratingly happen. Some of the changes are good, some not so much in my opinion but that is discussed elsewhere.

    The Cobra IV's unique loadout options (8 optional internals on a small pad ship) and exclusivity are both tangible benefits. You can't just look at one vs. the other, a player who own the Cobra IV gets both the ship itself and the exclusivity of being one of the players who has access to it. You mean a "player-driven" economy. No, Elite has never and likely will never have that although arguably you can sort of influence commodity prices indirectly by BGS interactions. That's not really much of an issue though, with planet and system populations in the millions or billions there aren't enough players to actually influence economies directly. The NPC traffic alone should be far more significant than anything players can do in terms of scale plus only a fraction of the NPCs are actually being shown in game due to P2P game engine limitations. The most you can do as an individual player or player group is destabilize a government, start a war, and so on, which is sort of a "force multiplier" for...

    It supports the trade but the gold stays there locked and many currencies are fixated to the US dollar. Do you expect me to add an addendum of the details every time I say that? The only additional value it has is its exclusivity and whatever appeal you have towards it. One will be gone if FD break their word, the other one applies to a considerably small amount of people which do not warrant FD to break their statement. In a competitive context within the game, the more effective tools (ships) win over less viable ships.
