    I do brass loco building, if you want your paintwork to look really great look up ‘weathering’ . I keep all the nasty old drying up enamel paints to make a weathering paint. Brings your models to life.

    For a PvE (haz res) build I would definitely change a lot: 1) ditch the shield cell, instead go for a g4 thermal resistant fast charge experimental Bi-Weave. 2) ditch all multicannons except one with corrosive experimental, I would go for high cap, you want to apply corrosive to as many targets as possible but not the multi as damage dealer 3) go with as many beams as your distributor can handle, go fixed beam if you can keep time-on-target yourself, otherwise gimbal 4) maximize your resistances to 50% in all categories

    Dont worry CIG will rework it about 3 times till tanks are added in-game. anyway this ship is another great CIG marketing success - it forces backers to buy again with fresh cash or melt old concepts who are not still in the game, because CIG are busy with this new ship that is current big money maker..

    I think so too. Also think it might be approximately realistic in a zero G environment? When explosion cracks the first internal flaw in the rock .. there can be only one 'weakest point' I think? (Lattice structures can be more complex but computationally you might be waiting a week). Also understand that if you get caught in this blast it's risky to your ship, which I 'like'. (Not that I enjoy master alarms especially)

    Why make the C2 ones turreted? They have good enough convergence when gimbaled. Same with the C1s. And personally I'd suggest having at least some fixed weapons. Otherwise chaff will completely neuter your offensive ability unless you're basically hugging the enemy. (And most high ranked NPCs have chaff) Plus fixed weapons take less energy, draw less from the PD and do more damage. And yea, thermal vent will probably be a must. btw, unless DPS is all you care about, you might want to replace some of the beams with bursts, they're far more efficient, both with heat and damage per energy.

    I'm currently engineering a new Sidewinder (Son of Sneaky Pete) as the successor to Sneaky Pete for an attempt to beat my personal distance record with a Sidewinder. With all the additions to ED since my original journey, I'm sure many have surpassed this record. Considering that, I'm curious what others have been able to do with a fully engineered Sidewinder. What is the max possible engineered range for a Sidewinder? Feel free to post builds and any advice. Thank you. My old record: 58,770.52 LY (I apologize if this has already been discussed elsewhere)

    Given that the game has options available to avoid those kind of situations by design, I'd say no. It's on the individual to make use of those options and features Again, as above. There's options available to avoid undesirable behaviour built into the design of the game. I'll recap them in case anyone else is interested...     Tip-off missions often have cargo racks at the site for some high-grade raw materials. Hopefully with the 3.3 probes adjustments there'll be more of a reason to visit volcanic sites. For G1-3 materials (on the geological 3-2-1 system, not the economic system, so Selenium is G2 here) you can also get them through asteroid mining. Likewise for me. If you like driving the SRV then you'll pick up more raw materials than you ever need just doing things like "let's drive to that mountain over there" or "this looks like an interesting set of canyons" by diverting to the better signals along the way.
