That is incorrect, Blizzzard listens very closely to it's player feedback. You need only look to Diablo III to see proof of that, prime examples are the auction house removal, the greater rift reworkings, and the upcoming balance patch which directly implements dozens of player suggested tweaks to class sets to bring most of them all up to unity. Starcraft balance patches were often results of player feedback and testing too, honestly all Blizzard games demonstrate this over time. SCS is another great studio which takes player feedback seriously and often implements things accordingly. SCS spent an entire half year rescaling the world map of American Truck Simulator solely based on customer feedback, for free, and it was the right decision. Many of the best studios with the most devoted customers and most successful games have one thing in common: they listen to player feedback and make it a priority in the development cycle. With regards to player interactions other studios also do a much better...

Apologies for the wall of text, but somewhere in there I did echo this. It's not as though the idea of additional death consequence is poor (again, that in particular I have been fighting for in many cases) so much as this particular notion cannot exist comfortably within the framework of engineers/modifications in ED. We already have people screaming out to reduce how convoluted it is in various forms, and the changes engineers have actually had - on the whole - have improved it by either a small margin or not at all. As you say, revamp the engineer system to be far more "barebones" and I'd be behind you in a heart beat. As it is, I've commented that the lack of offset in engineering your ship should be addressed, either by making modifications true "sidegrades" (not going to happen) or as OP suggests increasing the value of the module.

The amount of misinformation here. BP isn't the furthest reachable system in the game, that tittle goes to Semotus Beacon. BP isn't even the furthest reachable system prior to jumponium and engineering. BP is only especial because it was the furthest Erimus could get in the Abyss, Erimus being the first to reach the other side of the galaxy.

No sure if answered already or if I understood it right, but as far as I can see the Stretch Goals page is still very much up:

you guys who travel far with it are truly incredible people, even in the bubble the jump range is atrocious, i could never do that for sure. But yea i still love this ship it's a masterpiece, if only we could reduce some other stat equally to make up for the jump range, even reducing shield or firepower would work for me. Sad thing is i'm from the first beta years ago and i'm still waiting for a ship designed for me, maybe a little weaker than the FdL but with more jump range. Maybe the new pirates ships will do, but till then the FdL is clearly my ship of choice.

May SC deliver, please, Elvis. :) Getting rid of the Hotel California would make Elite so much better.

Lots of ideas being discussed here, so I'm going to focus on the concept of players trading materials and data (for ease, lets lump them together and call them ingredients). Lets assume we have a working market that allows players to trade ingredients for credits (or commodities that can be converted into credits). A player that wants quick and easy access to an ingredient can simply pay the market rate and save themselves time and effort. They effectively pay for the time and effort of other players. Prices adjust according to supply and demand. All standard stuff. The general availability of these ingredients will improve dramatically if the market works efficiently. If you want 100 CIF, so that you can spin for god rolls on your dirty drives, you can get them quickly so long as you can afford the price. Off you got to see Palin to play on his slot machine. The players who don't need the CIF have converted them into credits: If they later want CIF they can go back to the market and convert it back...

Did most of my work on my main account well before 17 Drac Quince and Fehu, so all it was, was extra capitol for me. I'd already maxed ranks and got triple elite before too, so for me it was only about the cash. My other accounts haven't touched them at all for rank, cash or otherwise. My 3rd account is a pure RP acount and strictly limited to open play. Although I'm starting to rethink on that last one due to the general gaming glitch fest I'm having when trying to play in open at the moment.

That would not be a good outcome, in my opinion. If the rebuy cost of Engineered items were to increase then that need not affect the sale price (could be stated that Outfitting would remove any modifications to any equipment sold) but the increased rebuy could be considered to be a surcharge for having the replacement equipment Engineered prior to redelivery to the CMDR that had recently lost their ship.

And an engineer would throw away their own rare materials to honor your Pilots Federation voucher because *why* exactly? Oh right I forgot the Pilots Federation are omnipotent Gods and everyone always does what they say. Pretty sure even the Thargoids are members of the Pilots Federation. That's why their appearances are RNG based. It's in their contract with the PF. Nobody knows why they are required to do this but no one questions it either.

Yeah - what aRJay said above - that entry went in fairly early on after I made the CGs live this week - looks like no one else owned up to a top 10 score while it was active. This happens in the BH & Combat goals a lot, and to some extent in the trade ones as it does paint a bit of a target on your back and there are only 10 slots up for grabs. Will attempt to get this weeks goals entered soon after the CGs launch this week so hopefully better tracking (and monitor for abnormal entries regularly), though that top 10 boundary should always be taken with a pinch of salt for the reasons stated above.

I was watching the pre-hubbub when it came to the surface attack against Thargoids pre 2.4 and let me tell you, the insects have reason to fear us and our hillbilly attitudes. Not the other way around. The only problem with this is that the devs seem to be setting up the Thargoid "invasion" as they will only attack players if the players attack first. While the devs might think about this farther down the road, what you're suggesting here is unprovoked and pre-emptive of them. And not what we're looking forward to with 2.4. Hell, I'm waiting to see if the Ammonia Worlds I've found scattered around Col 173 Sector will suddenly turn into Thargoid colonies (as it's been hinted Ammonia Worlds are the origin point for them).
