    For fun of course. Any meaning and relevance to lives or self would have to be added by the user, at their own risk. If the self-added meaning and relevance to life and selves is diminished or lessened by in-game adversity, especially adversity caused by other players, causes the user to have an online meltdown then that might not be the wisest course of action. The reactions to getting exploded are way out of proportion most of the time. In that context 'it's only a game' might make more sense :)

    I completely understand that many Commanders very much dislike CQC. It can be pure unadulterated mayhem. That mayhem, however, is precisely what makes it so glorious for me. The CQC fighters are probably the closest to the spaceships envisioned by the original flight model. Although the higher levels do get more outfitting options, they are mostly sidegrades. In comparison to engineering, it is far more balanced. There is no way you can avoid continuous and rapid pip management. It's not about theory crafting and the endless grinding of mats and twenty minute fights; it's about patience and loving flying so much that one is willing to die thousands and thousands of times over. Instead of paying for rebuys, one pays by offering bits of one's ego to the god of technical perfection. Most every ship is viable, too. CQC does try to put similarly leveled players together, unfortunately due to the lower player population, a wide variety of skill levels may be placed in the same instance. I rather like...

    Have we considered that such numpty NPC questions could be responded to by other, slightly more Competent NPCs in the default chat channel such that new players get live, in-game tips such as "Look at your compass! Above and left of the scanner." in case there aren't any helpful live players nearby? Significant chunks of the manual nobody ever reads could be covertly snuck into the actual game play in the absence of a dedicated global (galaxy wide) /help channel which I'm sure some players would be quite happy to monitor for baby seals in distress and repeatedly offer pertinent and timely answers to the steady barrage of identical "I skipped the tutorial" questions that frequently arise. Maybe you could dedicate a dev or six to a permanent "GM" capacity to moderate such a channel, or even promote a small selection of players in each time zone, who've previously demonstrated their /help~fulness to said on-payroll GMs within such channel with a different coloured name in chat to indicate a level of trust...

    CQC should have been what conflict zones are - except without the arcades power-ups. Basically, you sign up for a side, you get thrown into an SLF, and are launched out of a cap ship. Lots of hull losses leads to the Navy being less willing to give you a seat, and good piloting results in a choice of fighters. Anyway, itís been proposed before, along with conflicts and battles taking place around stations (yeah, so traders actually have to run the gauntlet, but payouts would be greatly increased). At the very least, conflict zones should be around some sort of asset - it makes no sense to be fighting over an empty patch of space in th middle of nowhere. Z...

    What you're describing is the classic hen/egg paradoxon. Similar to real wars it's usually impossible to say with certainty who originally started it. Like almost everyone else, you just remain sitting in the comfortable position of blaming the others. I suspect you never was on the receiving end of piracy...

    It's likely even systems with already known planets contain many more we've not detected yet. If you go through the list of confirmed exoplanets you will see that many of them are very extreme cases. Massive super gas giants orbiting very close to their parent star. Detecting small terrestrial planets like Earth or Mars orbiting some distance from the star is much more difficult. Doesn't mean they're not there.

    Price, Software and controller wise yes absolutely... But visually, I love my Vive pro and have put up with the poorer software and horrible controllers for the sake of the clarity also the tracking has been absolutely perfect, where as the Rift required more sensors and usb ports etc...... I have the Pimax, Vive Pro and Oculus, for me the vive pro is the best, especially for Elite, better colours and clarity especially with lens mod. The Pimax works for some, but is nowhere near ready for a retail sale as yet, too many issues, like crackinng cases, incorrect IPD and lack of blacks... That and the company is absolutely horrible to deal with.. As an example, they promised me a refund, but now will not respond to any forms of communications etc... I have been forced to put in a paypal claim etc... The oculus is still the better all round package, but once you have seen the Vive Pro's visuals, it is hard to go back... If the Pimax could fix their issues, it would be a better headset and the FOV is really...
