They currently only show up out to 1000Ls even if you're travelling fast enough for them to appear further out, so this should be self-limiting. This seems to be a much *easier* problem than NPC ships, which can move, interdict, etc. and are detected instantly rather than on a player choosing to honk. Sharing those between players in an instance seems to work pretty well already. As with ships, most likely would be "yes if there's someone keeping that supercruise instance active, no otherwise". Probably USSes should disappear if someone drops into them at the same time the low wake does. Well, they still could be randomly spawned, though - but several would show up in a 1000 Ls sphere on honk, rather than a single one showing up f(speed) Ls ahead of you on a timer.

I don't see how this is a negative. Many games have certain conditions for crafting and getting certain gear and what not. If there were no requirements, then it would not be much of a game then. Nothing to progress towards. You'd just be handed the best gear. That's not exactly the best game design either.

There will be patches to optimise stuff soon enough I guess. I bought my 1080ti partly because I didn't want to be an early adopter. Mostly because I didn't want to wait any longer though ;)

Matt’s a good friend of mine. We’ve played together a long time. For what it’s worth, he means well (just like Pico or Jockey). Part of what I’m trying to do is listen to all voices (like 90sKid and Sylveria, to name two not similar views) and remain emotionally balanced towards them. You know the saying ‘not my cup of tea?’ We’re all that to someone, know what I mean? :)

He hasn't noticed which mats are really plentiful yet, so he doesn't know to trade them and other useless garbage away for useful stuff even at a loss.

You’re not wrong. I just wish there was a way of getting G5 mats from CQC!

Honestly I'm in the same boat, OP. I never "grind" (I.e "find the mod I like, google up how to get the resources and grind the hell out of it) I just play the game. I love mining. I love driving the SRV and I love scanning and killing ships. And once in a while I visit some engineer and see what they can do for me. No particular plan. All my ships are engineered this way and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh, so there's a "right" conversion rate that FDev refuse to implement? What, pray tell, is it?

I agree. I don't go out of my way to collect anything but after planetary scanjobs I always go out and gather some nuts before recalling my ship. After battles I admire my ship and space while the limpets do their thing. On my krait I have a wide angle scanner so it's never a bother to check the ships around me. If I lack some engie ingredient I pop by the trader and exchange my full loads for what I need. Unlocking engies is something to do. A purpose. Not a grind unless everything is. I've been blowing up pirates for days for the cg and I long to go doing more "boring" unlocking :)

I looked beyond the word "zealot" and read what he was saying, which I mainly agree with. I chat with him a lot and we've agreed and disagreed over many things. We call it discussion, not an echo-chamber. That's one way to dismiss his points, I suppose.

This is a great way to do it, and I have convinced a few wingmates to do it this way. A great break to let your shields regen a bit and you get some materials for upgrades. A win-win, plus they like the precision flying with their HOTASs.

So you hate when people don't want to grind and leave their stuff vanilla? Why? Shouldn't really matter to you if I refuse to put myself through this convoluted, useless mess just to get where I was before the artificial game lengthener was introduced to keep the hamsters busy Pawlowian-style.
