I'll mention it here just see people's reactions, but I keep looking at the beluga and wanting one. It's so big and bold and feels like a flagship vessel.....that has no use. Seriously can't think of any use for it, not one, that another ship with do better. Sadly personally I wouldn't buy a ship if I had no use for it, but I still really want one. Wonder if anyone's been brave enough to actually buy one.

I'm actually disappointed this happens in Stellar Forge at all. My limited understanding of astrophysics is that a brown dwarf star doesn't emit anywhere enough energy to keep a planet with liquid water. An object would need to be very close to get any significant radiation, and then it would likely end up tidally locked with one side perpetually facing night. It's just not the recipe for an Earth-like planet. I could be wrong, of course, it's not like we've had the opportunity to closely scrutinize brown dwarfs,

True story: When multicrew first launched I was bounty hunting in a RES in my FDL and I had another CMDR riding shotgun, which at some point I completely forgot about, because when an NPC pirate sent me a direct message asking "what are you hauling in there?", I typed my usual response to that question just before unleashing death: "Your mom." At this point the other CMDR started laughing over voice com (hadn't said anything prior to that) which scared the crap out of me at first, and then I was so embarassed to have been caught chatting with NPCs that I ended the multicrew session. I feel better now, having gotten that out. Thanks!

I have a different opinion. I have full configs for my Corvette that lets it be good at anything except exploration. Mine is currently a Cruise Ship/Taxi, and I am making about 8m every 10 minutes. I had it configed for BH last week, and was doing hauling the week prior. It's also a fantastic mining ship (that can kill any pirates harassing me). My Corvette is not handicapped at all.

I've owned a lot of ships but just at the moment I spend most of my time in a Corvette - either getting my NPC crew member up to elite, or doing CGs safe in the knowledge that I can take on pretty much any NPC ship. I also keep a Python for if I want to do a mission that needs a medium pad. If a Python could carry a fighter I'd use it a lot more.

Regarding networking - this just appeared: "Our plan was always" is a phrase I often see coming from CIG. The plan according to Erin Roberts was to start the networking in 2016 and that 2.6 was the start of the game proper. Chris Roberts put a shout out for network techs to join CIG last year. The major networking stuff is in the same place as VR, it will never, ever happen.

I just love to get into the T9, it's big, slow, turning rate like a pregnant whale, but I love it. Maybe because I imagine how the rest of the ship will be. Big cargo room with industrial gear, chains dangling from the ceiling, condense water dripping everywhere and cracking sounds from the haul....... Now where is the damn cat?

The only mining I've ever done was to unlock engineers. My mining AspX sits unused, hoping that the future upgrades to mining make it more worthwhile.

Be prepared for an attack. Drop out at "Obsidian Order Constructed", see who is around, and if they are hostile wait for them to go after someone else while you sneak in with heatsinks?

Pretty much this. Heat sinks not needed. Why this works is this. Ship begins to scan you. You hit silent running. Your emission drops. Ship has to get closer to scan you. You release silent running, they begin to scan again and since you are now full emission they relax their distance again as they scan you. Hit silent running and now they have to get closer to scan you again. You can tell this is how it works, by how fast it takes them to rescan you. Now generally it takes a few seconds to get a complete scan so use that to your advantage. They begin to scan you, count 2 - 3 Mississippi's and then hit silent running. I run a t9 so speed is not an option. But this works all the time.

i occasionally use them for their intended use, but mostly as a cash-sink - i.e. building ships like you'd restore a car, buy each new module as you can afford it. the game is more fun for me if i keep floating just above the poverty line, gives it a sense of urgency if i want to trade or haul, i prefer the Python - it handles all mission loads except those rare 300t ones and is much nicer to fly but whenever possible i use a good ol' Vulcher the Mulcher. fun, profitability and survivablity in one small very ugly package

It is rather cheesy. Really, it wouldn't be that hard to come up with a standard phrase randomizer.

Ok...I've spent a couple more hours on this Rocky moon, 450 km radius, Major Silicate Vapour Geysers, and have not found any volcamism yet, not even a hint of it. Plenty of deep dark canyons. But great news! I did manage to find about a dozen of these things...

I haven't mined in so long. Last time did it in my minerconda. It is oddly satisfying, however a bit boring in the long run, and filling my cargo hold took far longer than my resistance to do something so slow paced could hold. Anyway, you don't do stuff because others say you should, but because you want, and you will find fun and satisfaction in whatever you feel is right for you at the time, and sometimes, that is mining. Fly safe.

Well when you put it like that.... Although, it's hasn't helped my situation :(. They always say that in a res zone, presumably they are looking for miners. However, I don't mine in res sites, I bounty hunt, so when they say that line, I like to say "like this", then pull out my guns to shoot them while their back is turned. So satisfying.

Realizing that this has been figured out, I have a now irrelevant question (perhaps a point): Is there a place that gives a discount on Imperial ships? I am not aware of there being one, but am always happy to be educated.
