I saw Yamiks' video about shields being OP, and I tend to agree with the conclusions and I thought of ways to fix it. Here are my ideas. I can think of a few ways to balance shields some. 1. Limit the number of shield boosters a ship can have. I.E. limiting ships to 4 shield boosters at the most which would be no change or a minimal change for most ships. This would only be an issue for ships that can carry a lot of shield boosters like the Imperial Cutter, Anaconda, Federal Corvette, or FDL. It certainly is possible to do this since we do have limits on how many experimental weapons we can equip. 2. Nerf the heavy duty shield booster engineer upgrade's values by half including the grandfathered engineering upgrades to boosters (or force them to be converted to the new system). 3. Nerf shield cell banks to not regen so much shields so that the ships with a ton of shields won't regen them so fast.

The game already wastes too much time. Instead of play, we wait and wait. Wait for supercruise, wait for signals, wait for notority drop, wait for targets spawn and so on ...

Fair enough. I can respect the reference to Elite History. Personally I think my suggestion is a good compromise between functionality and respecting the simplicity of the Elite scanner, so I respectfully disagree. Thanks for the comment :)

Before 3.0.2 I may a lot of CR cruising around on a planet surface looking for materials, collecting salvage, and wasting wanted skimmers and stingers. Look at the video I posted in an earlier thread. The Nav Panel listed everything. Since 3.0.2 it has listed nothing. You don't want to accidentally kill one though. Had one commit suicide and crash into me and it was a 41,000 CR fine. On top of that, all the originally "legal" salvage I had gotten out of the trespass zone turned "stolen". Not to big a deal since I was collecting stuff to unlock The Dweller but still a PITA..

The most fun I've had recently is strafing ground bases with missiles in an engineered iEagle. I hate using the SRV for any kind of ground combat. It's a wonky, fragile, slow hunk of garbage. I really don't understand this obsession with forcing players into gameplay styles they don't much care for. I know there is a work around for this using a touch-and-go method, but I really can't be bothered. Totally sucks the fun out of it. I understand something had to be done about the goldrush eventually. Instead of adjusting payouts, you guys went with the most "gamey", immersion breaking option.

Limpet behaviour isn't consistent. Limpets usually fly at only 200m/s, so you can overtake them in a Type-9. Yet if your limpets are hovering next to your ship they will keep up with you boosting over 500m/s (not a Type-9). Cargo explodes if you are moving over 40m/s when a limpet returns with the cargo. But if you close the cargo hatch when the limpet returns, it doesn't matter what speed you are doing when you open your hatch.

There is nothing more calm and amazing than looking at perfectly black night sky with out light pollution - I live in a damn city and every chance I get I will just for a few minutes stop and gaze at the stars. Very nice photos OP, well done.

Sharkfood replied to a thread [ED64 - 3.0.3 Horizons] No 'Rank-Up' Mission in PC & Mac Bug Reports
Follow-on missions are working correctly. Any Donation mission along with some data missions are yielding the chain-link, follow-on missions as normal. It appears the check for 100% rank RNG is simply broken for advancing rank by spawning these missions.

Today, 11:46 PM · 93 replies and 1635 views. over 3 years of playing Elite: Dangerous you have encountered every possible occurrence that could ever happen? Amazing. It's happened to me twice - though I'll happily admit the first time (over half a year ago) I was flying perhaps a little too close to the Type 9 I was trying to defend. Three pirates firing on him and then I accidentally nicked him right after his hull was at 0% and popped. As the last to have made contact with the Type 9 I got a bounty. That's just how this game handles damage output - effectively the same as kill-stealing. (Ever fired your first shot at a wanted NPC that's just hit 0% hull and still gotten the bounty reward? I have plenty of times. Same mechanic applies.) I'm inclined to agree with you, however: If your system were quicker, then that would potentially diminish the whole purpose of gaining notoriety in the first place (from the perspective of punishing a player for committing intentional criminal transgressions). If you make it easier to pay off...

Laws are pretty protective of customers in EU and UK (UK laws are even more protective). In nutshell shadow ban is best they can do if they are suspicious. Getting 100% detection however is hard. Cheats are easier, because they mostly involve tampering with memory and thus such actions are easier to detect.

Well rng always has a chance to hate people at times lol. But find a place with a few systems with a lot of, or else max of empire minor factions will increase your odds. Also, As long as you are fairly sure you haven't either done enough to be max rank or whatever rank you ultimately want to stop at, then just keep rank grinding away and you'll get the missions as well as keep getting closer to your end goal. Sometimes you get lucky and get 3 or 4 rank ups in a row once one spawns. If you have enough to rank up that many times obviously ;) And it really does seem like these missions tend to show up more often in solo mode. The majority of mine were found when flipping to solo. I think this a generally held belief, but idk there is any thing but anecdotal evidence for this. Also just another thought, are you by chance in a large pad ship? And if you are do you check the missions at the bottom you can't take? Because you could be getting missions you can't do in a large ship possibly, and they...

CunningStunt replied to a thread [ED64 - 3.0.3 Horizons] Alioth Permit mission AWOL in PC & Mac Bug Reports
I just posted on the bug report about rank up missions not spawning (as both types of mission are supposed to appear in the follow on mission area). I've been after the Luyten 347-14 permit all day, I'm allied with Social LHS 449 Partnership, Workers of Santy Independants and Luyten 347-14 Prison Colony, but no permit mission spawned in any system associated with those factions. The day before the recent patch I was able to acquire the nearby van Maanen's Star System permit with no problems.

Right back at you! I never really did get that whole idea - but then again I moved out at 17 and been on my own ever since. Last year I took 2 10 day vacations to Vegas with my mother, all she had to pay for was her airfare both ways (and her gambling of course!) - and we both had an absolute blast! (and it's Sir :D)
