Yea, the star systems are there, just look at the night sky in the game at all those stars. The problem is that they have yet to implement jump points so we can only stare and hope we will one day get there. :D

And the ironic thing is that it's Reddit and YouTube that gets the bad reputation... :S:O

I do wonder how much of that is him and how much is Christ Roberts. Ok, he's no hideo kojima, but how many hideo kojimas do we need? He was a decent game dev. Hopefully he's got enough to retire because no one is going to touch him with a stick after this.

So I finally completed everything on Isla Pena and moved on to Sorna, and I have to say that it is BY FAR the best thing I've found in the game. From the initial setup to the space and layout, I really love it. The only negative I can point to is that it makes no sense to have a mountain in the middle, as Sorna was a volcanic crater, with ridges all around it and a huge valley in the middle, so although I like the layout, it's a little disingenuous to call it Isla Sorna.

As a console gamer, I'm very thankful that Frontier took the time to port this game over to my PS4. I hope other studios with simulation-like games (Subnautica, Silent Hunter, and even X-Plane comes to mind) follow Frontier's lead in this regard.

Just watched his other video "why we can't salvage modules', (which is the same footage from the 'top 10 material farming places'), so he didn't even bothered to record one, and is basically a very cheap whinge why frontier would not implement his idea (which I think is a good idea, btw) just because FD "game designers"/"it is fun so don't expect it in-game" and all the same crap I can read in the forums pretty much every day. For a 'youtuber'.. that is -1 in effort. I had to stop watching it due to boredoom..

Thanks guys some good tips there I think. I’ve changed my DNS to those Google ones & will report how I get on next time I go mining. Have bookmarked the web app suggested by commander Stiehl9s too so hopefully that’ll help with the PAIN.

And over territory of course. Which makes sense since you can't make a big enough paddock, that doesn't intervene with their presence. A male tiger has a territory of up to 100 km. How much you think a Cera will have??

LOL. A brain-world would be neat, until it had an encounter with a zombie-world. ;)

Yes, I think that would be good to see, add more depth to a landing, and very likely let the srv dock / undock more easily on terrain that is not entirely flat. (This is less of a problem with high-clearence ships like the AspX, but would be very useful for Cobras, for example)

I played the PC version with no mods. I'm not saying it was a perfect game, just that clearly Frontier used it as a base when making this game, but they left out or failed to advance so many key areas of JPOG that it's a bit of a head scratcher. I guess, I just expected that after 15 years we would get a JP park building game that advanced in most areas from JPOG, but that hasn't been my experience so far. Again, I am enjoying the hell out of the game, just hope they support it and add improvements and content, even if it's paid. I'd spend $30 for a full fledged expansion.

I have no idea where the "game is dead" came from, the video is an experiment with an npc and a little discussion about interactivity and some differences between the live version and ddf, that's it. Obviously it takes no time at all for the usual 3-4 vultures of dismissiveness to attack the video, the youtuber and the op without even knowing what they are actually talking about. Isn't this forum just a lovely place thanks to you guys :)

I sometimes think the scope is ED is so vast, one can choose to experience it various relaxing ways like the shallow and deep ends of a pool. It can be almost like going for a swim. You can choose to do it every day, or periodically or seasonally, or eventually getting back to it after a long while.

People can enjoy the game AND enjoy a double points weekend. Some people also enjoy engineering,if the process is sped up from time to time thats just a bonus.

With limited money you are tasked with deciding what dinosaurs to release, what upgrade paths to go down and how you want to build your park starting out. Longevity could be increased by simply having to destroy your starting park and re-building it once you have adequate funds since it is time consuming to try and build your perfect park from scratch with limited funds. I don't understand a lot of things people are asking for, but if a video game company wants to sell their product they should sell to the highest denominator. Profit is a good thing because it allows for continued development. So if you would like to see anything added to the game then you should support, in general, things that make the majority happy and that do not harm your experience. Also the shops get your ratings up, I don't really use them for money and while we are on the topic perhaps even add a difficulty slider that lowers income generated from the various aspects of the game to force you into tough decisions. I think such...

Just in case nobody has mentioned it. Source and return wing missions are the best way to make money right now. I average over 100mil/hr on a good day with a wing of two Cutters/T9s more if I can gather a wing of four. Look for missions that need high value comodities as you can easily make around 20mil per mission requiring only one jump each for a 4 ship wing. Don't try it alone as it is possible to make a loss on high value goods when solo. o7
