It won't destroy the faith. Just give perspective. Sometimes that's just as important. Frontier made a choice, and it's down a path I likely will not walk. It's not a bad path? So much as a very process and procedure driven one, with little sense of adventure and shrinking player choice; and that's not what I backed them to build, when this was little more than Braben trying to pitch this little game called "Elite: Dangerous" with a desire to give people a fully formed galaxy simulation, as a backdrop for a sandbox adventure. It's cool; I have thousands of hours in Elite; I have it on PC and XBOX and hoped it would have a long life. It hasn't worked out and sometimes it doesn't. Q4 was probably the big thing for me to engage with as the planet work and squadrons really did sound like more of that adventure aspect that's been missing for so long. Now we have a mini-game instead, and some probes we'll have to collect tokens for. I dunno, man. I wouldn't have called that 3 years ago. I was having too...

I do wing missions on my own, they present a bit more of a challenge. Wing assassination missions have engineered NPC targets for example. To be fair, I play in Open rather than Solo though ;) I think wing missions don't really need to be distinguished from non-wing missions, and stuff like the new cargo collection on delivery missions is a step in that direction. Unfortunately while that means the distinction between the two types might go away, you will still have a board 'filled' with more demanding missions than you are presumably looking for. That's not an easy thing for the Devs to balance.

Desperately they walked down the halls of Hutton. Beads of sweat on their foreheads, and old women left knocked to the floor in their wake. Neither stopped to help her up. Their mission was too important for that. Onwards they marched with veins bulging in their foreheads, quickened breaths, and clenched resolves. Ahh! the sweet release of a porcelain throne. While they sputtered their targets they were able to converse. "What was in that curry!?" "I don't know, but we're in the wrong toilets!" The shop manager burst in. "What the hell are you doing on our display toilet suites!?"

Hi, this song would perfectly fit into Costa del Mar Chillout radio's playlist: https://www.costadelmar-radio.com/chillout/ I like it, almost always running in background while playing Elite.

While I can sympathise with your position I can't with your logic. Very fast boot up. The boot time for the FSD is due to the amount of hydrogen being pumped into it, tons of hydrogen to get it going, violation of the imaginary laws of physics that run our imaginary universe is the worst thing you can do consistency wise to any narrative. Which gets us to low power, tons of hydrogen to boot up and FSD to push a ship faster than the speed of light, these are by definition not low power devices. Obviously you would like a way to escape when you FSD is disabled, what if they also target your emergency FSD, or do we make that immune to attack as well? There's an almost continual balance going between the ability of enemy ships to catch you and the ability of ships to escape or otherwise evade capture, throwing in magical devices on one side to to help them escape is only going to lead to a balance added to the other side to counter that ability and we will be back exactly where we started.

You are a ganker, you have no credibility and don't know the first thing about fighting thargoids , as proven by your absurd post. No one puts resistances on an anti-thargoid ship. You people are easy enough to escape but I would rather fdev even the playing field so we can just send you to the rebuy screen instead. Swapping out for a PvP ship is a pain in the rear and we shouldn't have to ship two ships everywhere we go just in case the "short bus" of the PvP community shows up.

I’ve been putting off NMS, afraid it’ll destroy the faith in Elite I guess. But I’ll do it, GODDAM I will.

Why don’t you organise a blockade of the station? This has the added bonus of people ignoring the in game reasons and calling you a griefer

While i'm interested in colonization to some extent, i wonder what the point would actually be. I mean, you go out there, do your colony, and then... what? I can only think it might be nice to set up a colony with a like minded player group well away from other players. A place with pristine rings and lots of unexplored systems around. But i can't imagine a lot of players wanting that. Outfitting would be light and a long way from engineers and stuff. Not many players around. And if close to the bubble, why? Just to have a home with less outfitting and stuff than the surrounding systems? Hell, i get that already with my home system as it is. So, yeah, i kind of want colonization, but not sure what i would actually do with it.

And you think those who are wouldn't be if they were forced to go slower? Do grace us with more of that sound logic. Per the update, no, they didn't initiate the move to a mission server to stop board flipping, that's just the result of moving away from mission boards being tied to game instances. And I'd not be surprised if there was a spike of activity in that area as players go for that last hurrah exasperating the issue. And as stated, who's responsible for the design decisions that incentivize that behavior?

True but they can put them in private not solo means solo.

To be fair. The ability to accept wing missions even solo was a requested feature, and -some- of those wing missions are pretty lucrative (and fun) if you do them alone. The problem is that there are only so many missions being handed out at a time, so every wing mission we see means one solo mission less.
