As long as they deliver, at a minimum a SQ42 with damn nice cutscenes, a nice (in the end) flight engine, bombastic over the top cheesy space opera with loads of space combat and a crapload of cheesy oneliners I would say they are in the clear. If they cant do that i want to know, after the release of whatever they release EXACTLY where the money went.

We shall see. I mean, it's not like the backers and critics and other gamers are all of various opinions on what space games ARE the BDSSE. Not to mention the space-sim/privateer/wing commander market in 2012 was shall we say, bone dry. It was...X3 and perhaps Space Force: Rogue universe and those had been out for like 4-6 years already. And in 2013 we got X:Rebirth which was a bit of a dumpster fire that has after the development time of SC become "ok" in quality. So basically AFTER the kickstarter a lot of space games started popping up like NMS and then Elite (which was basically already on the roadmap but far from released). And the Wing Commander style games are still basically non-existent on the PC where you have a rich storyline with nice cinematic shots with nice cutscenes and hectic battles against strange aliens.

That is an idea I can get behind :). Either that or "Elite Dangerous: Hooray for Everything" ;).

You could use existing bulkheads, shields, and engineering. Ships with low albedo would have corresponding high thermal absorption in order to look as black as ice cold coal on an EM scan. Ergo, ships with highly NEGATIVE thermal resistance would be ships with high absorption and low albedo. Ergo your best bet would be to engineer a ship with maximized -70% thermal resistance on the shields or hull. You'd be virtually invisible on night vision and radar, but extremely weak to hitscan thermal weapons.

Both of these things. I'm in the enviable position of having an AspX that has something like a 79.5Ly jump-range (only 2Ly less than my Annie, as it turns out) so a Phantom won't beat that but it's still a tempting choice for exploration due to the number of slots. Having said that, I have an armed/armored multirole DBX that can do ~60Ly jumps and that will still be the ship I mostly use for zipping around the bubble - without really having to waste much time scooping. I suppose I could build a Phantom for the same job but it's gonna be 10x more expensive and it still won't be able to land in some of the places I can squeeze a DBX into.

Sold the ADS on all my ships, de-cluttered my module storage space and sold my T-10 goid ship. My credit balance is just over a billion credits larger than it was before. I am ready for the update.

And once again, you've completely ignored my interpretation of why the FSS displays distance in the way it does - the FSS can remain completely unchanged for the purpose of my proposal. A better integration of that UI with other ship systems is desirable, but not required for my purposes. You are like a dog with a bone, but it is getting rather dull. I just did - I made a number of small changes within 30 minutes of the original post - debunked, again.

I really wish I could tear you to shreds for this post but forum rules and being polite and all that. This post just shows a lack of understanding about game development as a whole and shows little to no knowledge of Elite Dangerous or the Elite serious. I've played Star Citizen it's a first person shooter with space elements it really just feels like Planetside 2 in space to me. Elite will get space legs because Frontier seem to listen to the player base but I firmly believe the game will still continue to be a success without it. Cannot compare to No Mans Sky because thats a different type of game again. A game can only be top if it's class for so long - World of Warcraft continues to be the most played and top MMO.

Deareim replied to a thread [ED64 - 3.2.1 Horizons] Unexpectedly large BGS influence changes in PC & Mac Bug Reports
We didn't have huge swing in tiny systems but overshooting. Which is weird as, in our case, we should have match the controlling faction (And BGS usually compensate). Happened in 2 small systems around 15k people.

I'd like to add that this walking back by fans is rather dissapointing. CIG repeatedly promised the BDSSE (if not in those words), people paid for the BDSSE, and i would expect the backers to hold their balls to the fire if they fail to deliver. How many times did we hear over the years that CIG were building the best game ever, that they wanted a game done right, not rushed by greedy producers, the everything game for everyone. And now, it sounds like some backers are willing to accept just another regular game. I mean, its all i expect myself, perhaps, at the end, a half-decent game. There is no way backers should accept that though.

Quite true. With the exception of the iCourrier with its speed combat builds while retaining good shields, small ships are boned. Lowering their hull mass across the board would not hurt. Nor would C4 perf enhanced trusters and maybe some special hulls for small ships.

Yep, putting the Thargoids behind additional grind and outfitting was not a good move IMHO. And not having their position/actions/outcomes clearly visible, likewise. Consider if you could go into the galaxy map and via a Powerplay type view see the Thargoid position, and by drilling into it see tasks you can undertake to have an effect/outcome. And consider if where this requires combat this involved standard/traditional weapons (maybe some of which are slightly more/less effective against Thargoids etc). That sounds more appealing and interesting to me at least... ps: And as you suggest, if those tasks also involved other things like spying (stealth scanning of Thargoid assets), or imagine CQC fighter based gameplay available via tasks where you deploy in fighters from a capital ship to undertake something, etc... etc...

I do not really see the point with VR since it is too much of a gimmick at the moment and need to be refined more. Also, very expensive. Headtracking on the other hand is very useful and a very immersive tool. Also, unlike Elite i can utilize headtracking to aim with my head the unmanned turrets i have in Star Citizen. I wish Elite could allow for turret headtracking.

Unless you try it in the next 15 or so hours, this will be too late - when 3.3. drops tomorrow, you'll have a different scanner :) Assinda is a populated system, so you have two possibilities: 1) after jumping into the system, you can scan the nav beacon. That will get you all the system information, but no payouts for the discoveries 2) you can use a discovery scanner. The basic and medium discovery scanners will be pretty useless, as Assinda B is something like 220,000 ls from your entry point, and those two have only a few hundred ls range, so you'll need the advanced discovery scanner, which will light up the whole system. Until tomorrow. Tomorrow, you (and everyone else) will get a new discovery scanner as part of the 3.3 update, which will be part of the fixed default loadout of your ship (no need to buy it) and will work completely differently from the old disovery scanner. Nav beacon scanning tutorial (not mine, I just searched YT):
