Rather than conflating subjects, let's just stick with the topic at hand for the moment, the question you asked me regarding A's good vs B's bad experience. A is not participating in order to make B's experience any more or any less enjoyable. A is simply participating for their own ends. Take a job promotion as an example: A gets promoted over B, B is visibly and understandably upset. Should A feel remorse or even give the promotion up, for gaining at B's expense? Bear in mind that this is a real world example, with tangible consequences for actual people, and not just a game we play to pass our spare time... Okay, so on to piracy, one of the available in-game character plays... This shows a lack of understanding of a pirate's experience.

Careful! You lose whatever progress you make in beta when you revert back to live.

Anyone shed light on this one, bearing in mind I have a cold so not too level headed of late, but doing some trawling and this popped up from 2015. Now there is no direct quote which me thinks means tis poppycock but its not the first time I've heard this... "David Braben himself told that Raxxla exists in-game, and will appear in the FSD computer once the player does enough DS scans at that region of space..."

Your experience differs from mine, because your opinion of what's enjoyable differs from mine. You feel like you're 'discovering gravity distortions', I feel like I'm 'chasing blue blobs when I'd rather be flying around the system in my spaceship'. It's all just a question of personal preference. I'd rather FDev had implemented a system that by design required me to be intellectually involved in the discovery process, rather than one where I have to actively avoid using the tool in order to find gameplay that I enjoy.

To be fair, I haven't tested this 35%/42raw figure with torps. I saw it in several comments and verified the 35% number with some old beta version release notes (around 2.2ish, found nothing newer in release notes). But the 35% did seem to ballpark match some my lazy reverb mine testing I did. No reason to think experimental would work differently for torps. If there are newer/better tests than mine happy to be corrected.

Frank, if any of mine need to be cut in order to make room for other drabbles, here is the order I want mine entered: (1) An-Ti-Ci-Pa-Tion (2) Wakey-Wakey (3) Not What I think of When I Hear "Bondage" i.e.: if any of my drabbles must be removed, please remove "Not What I Think of" first and move up the above list as needed. Thanks. o7

No they are drawn on your canopy but they are focused on infinity. It is a technique that was use in the optical gunsights of WWII and later fighter aricraft to make the gunsight appear to be out near the target and so the pilot dod not have to focus on either the target or to the reticle. What I find odd though now that I have an Anaconda is that some objects such as planets and USSs will get obscured by the nose of the ship but navigation targets do now. Just seems off.

Not entirely true as you can set the matchmaking to private and play the game solo. (just like Elite) You can do everything solo except the strongholds (something akin to party dungeons in MMOs) - you need to have four javelins to enter. And there is also the difficulty, of course. I have been able to do everything solo on Normal difficulty, but you don't get much good gear, that way (I only got a couple of blue and one purple gear on normal, while in full party on Hard the epics are literally raining down on you) Naturally, it's nothing like a proper "story mode" singleplayer. But if your main concern is that other players will spoil your story missions, you CAN do them alone (and honestly it really is better that way.)

Thing is, as a "PMF Boss" I've requested multiple *reasonable* CGs related to Thargoid content. Sometimes nothing more than "Collect (at the time) Unknown Artefacts" or other alien items, for no reward, or a minor global reward such as a new rare item based on whatever studies went on. Point being, in the feedback I've received FD simply do not have an appetite for supporting player CGs directly relating to ongoing story developments (and yeah, getting your station kitted out with AX weapons would be considered that) I know plenty of player groups with very unreasonable requests (Take control of multiple systems, remove factions, destroy stations). How do you think I'd fare as Joe Bloggs small player group leader asking for a station near Sag A* ;) Not saying DW2 is "unreasonable"... good on FD for actually supporting that one, but I know DW2 wasn't the first player group to ask for something like that.

You can see some here and there in Ontario. Proportionately more often the further you are from big cities.

reverb cascade torpedoes do half of their damage directly to the shield generator. MRP's and HRP's do not help. that means each torp will cause 60 points of damage to the integrity of the shield gen. from your build your shield gen has only 131 integrity. which is puny and can be popped with only 3 torpedoes. that means any ship with 2 class 2 hardpoint can erase your shields and still have hardpoints leftover to wreck you (penetrator missiles/rails for example). you should be using a class b shield gen with either kinetic or thermal resistance mod for the integrity boost and then double braced. that will increase your shield gen integrity to 295 meaning someone will need 5 torps to take out the shield. that's a commitment of 2 class 2 hardpoints with at least a class 1 hardpoint or two class 3 hardpoints. an ecm will guarantee you survive most torp attacks.

I want to just throw this out there. Sure, exploration can be a bit dull. Everything is more or less the same wherever you go, but I have an idea for the developers. Generously sprinkle the galaxy with lots with a dollar signs placed above planets. Use the FSS in the usual way, then go to system view to see if there is a prize waiting for you. You then travel to the planet with the dollar sign and probe it to reveal how much money you've won, and I'm talking about real money that Frontier will transfer into your PayPal. Prizes from $5 - $500. You'll have everyone buying the game just to explore the galaxy.

Just noticed these guys, too late, sorry! Amazing screenshots though, I still can't believe how close these objects are to an NS. Also, this week's newsletter contains the full official role play story for DW2!
