    Are we talking about ED here? Because the last patch made some really outstanding changes. Especially to mining. After that patch player numbers shot up, so the community would seem to disagree with you. The main bugs seems to be BGS releated, which is a shame, as the BGS is really borked now. But there were some significant changes with some good improvements. FD just need to get those things fixed.

    Just a few thoughts: Marco Qwent, right? Just thought you'd want to get his name right if you want him to ever trust you. Can't you buy MTs now at some stations? Some missions reward you with 30+ of them. Beats the 5 at a time some of us endured. Find a wingmate who can help you keep it interesting. Do some goal advancement, do some killing and whatever you like, then keep moving forward. I've gotten frustrated when I decided on the goal and decided I could knock it out quickly only to find there are a lot of little unlocks and long trips associated with each step. When you're done, you'll not even look back and recall it.

    Hmm, I recently saw a movie about a similar search for a semi-mythical game object. Has anyone tried flying through witchspace backwards? :rolleyes: Also, is there any virtual library that documents all of David Braben's personal interests & day-to-day interactions we could look through? I feel like if we just knew what his favorite 80s TV shows were, we could crack this puzzle wide open!

    For somebody who claims to have no interest in the distinction, you're going to a lot of effort to support it. Also, I'm pretty sure all explorers are aware of the implications of running an exploration build. They just fail to realise the effort some people will put into acting like tools.

    Context! Define high speed. The escape velocity of the galaxy is 0.1528kps, so about a quarter of the max speed of an unengineered Cobra, it certainly wouldn't add another level to the game in that regard, and in another regard, because our ED galaxy is a snapshot of the galaxy there is no actual relative star movement, everything above the level of a solar system is static as far as I am aware and according to FDEV's tech talks. A science section would certainly be an assett, but it would need ot be carefully monitored and managed because there is just so much junk science around on the internet. Not saying he above is junk science mind you, but without context it doesn't make much sense, high speed, for a star, isn't really very fast.

    I have nothing but praise for the volunteer moderators of this forum. Is the game buggy? Yeah, I accessed the comm panel tonight - and yes - you guessed it, total keyboard lockout. At his point the jankiness makes me wax nostalgic over Fallout New Vegas myriad broken "features". Remind yourself that this is a kickstarter vanity project. This is not a AAA project put together by OLD Bioware or CD Projekt Red or Rockstar etc. I have spent 4/5 of my time on the forums being critical of FDEV, but until there is legitimate competition in the genre - they really can do whatever they want (except for slf pilots that are not ugly and actually sit on the bridge, they have to fix that manure TOMORROW!).

    Being able to see it means I am made part of the event even if I didn't want to be. Do people want more realism or just a harder path? It doesn't make sense that you could jump to ANY system and be interdicted seconds after you enter the system. If anything, a ship might get a long range signal that you are within x number of light seconds, and then decide if they want to go looking for you. Running silent for just an instance should basically mean you no longer exist to that ship. The jumping in/out could create such a disruption that sensors can detect it, but a ship that small in an entire system the size of Sol should not A) show up like a firefly in the night and B) not register on sensors as a ship at all at that distance. In fact, only really large and powerful detection systems on planets and moons should be able to detect small objects at that distance, nothing should get instantaneous return signals of something moving FTL, and the signal itself exceeds the speed of the ship.     Your Momentum. When you FAOff spin, you basically rotate on an axis, as you rotate you are still traveling in the direction you were heading before the spin turn. You have to overcome that momentum in order to travel 'straight ahead' again. This is made even more difficult, if a Boost is involved.

    I sort of see how the impression that the fanbois get put down less than the haters, but the fanbois generally make a point while being insulting, whereas (ime) the haters generally are just insulting without really making a point in the same post. I can imagine the decision to delete a post is easier when it adds nothing to the conversation, and I think there is a tendency for the haters to try to get infractions or suspensions for kudos amongst their peers. If they don't get an infraction they try harder until they get one it seems. I have friends & regular acquaintances on both sides of many heated discussions & see their posts deleted fairly regularly across the board. I am often surprised to see so many posts remain after a heated argument. IMO there is evidence to suggest a lob-sided situation but the imbalance doesn't come from moderation or FDev.

Not carebears in particular His statement on carebears was specifically whether they considered the implications of mo' money on C&P. I don't have much interest in the distinction. Given how many explorers didn't consider the implications of running an undersized D rated shield and no boosters with undersized thrusters and distro in open, I suspect few pilots anywhere aside from gankers themselves considered what more money would mean for C&P. By and large PvPers - especially gankers - understand the mechanics of the game better than most, and thus are in a better position to understand the ramifications of changes to the underlying mechanics. That is because we're extremely pragmatic about the game and engage in its most challenging aspect. I personally have no idea who was crying out for more money, but am happy to have one grind somewhat reduced. I don't even think we get beta feedback options out here in...

    Im over it now who cares. It doesn't really matter when or what they do looking forward to it. From experience just back up 3 steps, forget that frontier developments exists and you can go back to enjoying the game. EDIT: For what its worth im guessing frontier are flexible in terms of moving developers around between projects, even if on a temporary basis. They have the advantage of being able to do that from sharing the same engine and the output simply doesn't match even a wild guess at what people can do without assuming negative things. So they must go crunch on other projects as needed. Simple as that.
