    I’m finally joining in. Albeit at a lower end of the spectrum. I’ve fitted my Viper MkIII to go after some scouts this afternoon but my wife is due back from work soon and I have to do dinner. I’ll have my first crack at them later tonight, if I can find some. I’ve gone fully multi cannon and added hull reinforcements all over the place, if I fail miserably at least my rebuy is extremely low.

    This so many times again. @Frontier: You can't fix a broken system by changing parameters. You need to change the system itself. Why can't you see that? I know it's a game, but reality works for a reason. That includes basic economics.

    Sometimes when I'm very wrapped up in a game, I unconsciously stick my tongue out the side of my mouth. I really wonder how FOIP would model this? Would it be smart enough to recognise "yup, that's a tongue. Don't know what it's doing there, but we'll show the avatar doing it!". Or would it just model a weird growth on the side of my face? :D

    In your third image, go to the list all modes button Just above the OK button) and then select the correct monitor resolution and the 144hz refresh rate. Mine wasn't set this way so I don't know if this will help, but try it.

    Very much this. There's nothing inherently less interesting about walking or EVA. In fact at least when travelling on foot your scenery changes a lot quicker, in space the sky-box changes very, very slowly, the planets and other objects slide by slowly too. On the other hand.... are we going to get all the NPC bugs again, but this time with walking NPCs? "Oh, you're a hard one to track down". - "THEN STOP FOLLOWING ME, YOU FREAK!"

    I think ships with exploration slots makes sense, more sense than ships without hardpoints, given the game's design so far, and the ability to use any ship for any role, though not necessarily as effectively, of course.

    Very much this. Meanwhile I'ha been taught about the early statement of David Braben about walking and that it will be in the game, albeit at times. Make from it what you want, but so far I couldn't find any concrete time announcement. Maybe they will introduce it in a similar surprising way as they just did with the beta announcement, at least they've proved they can do surprises! ;)

    Yet others games do manage it. Blame it on being too big a task for FDev's resources but let's stop trying to pretend that MS and Sony are the big bad guys preventing it. Other developers / publishers do it for their games and FDev could do it as well if they wanted. As with most of the console issues it comes down to a lack of will and resource allocation on FDev's part.

    If by players you mean their in-game characters, then obviously not. No, as these players have already opted into the possibility that their CMDRs may encounter hostile CMDRs. That risk is supposed to be an inseparable and intrinsic part of the Open game. Only about half of murders in modern first-world democracies result in an arrest. Even fewer result in conviction and in rougher/poorer, or more isolated, areas the portion of murderers that are brought to any sort of justice by the de jure authorities can drop to near zero. Murder happens with relative impunity across huge portions of the world and even in the best of areas, there are segments of the population that have almost no legal protection or recourse.

    Yes the wording or way this information is ambiguous and needs to be improved. But perhaps "SLOW DOWN" to "SLOWDOWN" would still be too subtle - could still be interpreted as a command rather than an observation. I would go with something like "GRAVITATIONAL DRAG DETECTED" or similar. This would appear to be an accurate description.

    I guess it's really a trivial task to make our ships ready for atmospheres. I mean, we already got the spoilers. ;) I just want to be able to interact with as many celestial bodies I can. And if I can't land on it, I want to siphon gas or whatever!
