Personally, I'd go for a broader approach integrating transfer (of both modules and ships) and outfitting into one interface. By this I mean that the interface would allow us to transfer modules and ships remotely from station to station and to fit any modules that are local to any ships. Buying and engineering modules would still be done locally. It would be much simpler than the current system, which requires the CMDR to get into their ship before removing a module, then getting in to another ship to install the module. It's a bit of a pain in the balls.

Probes in ED aren't being used to determine the surface features like mountains and canyons and stuff, that's what already happens during the scanning phase. We use them to find alien lifeforms and volcanic activiy and stuff. Using probes for that isn't entirely unrealistic since almost all analysis in the real world relies on several systems and not just one. You can't get a weather forecast by simply looking at a radar. You'll need to have access to all kinds of information about temperature, humidity, wind speeds, cloud movements etc. in order to get results.

You can unlock Guardian modules and fighters now: Because you have to do the same game loop multiple times, just to unlock one module, you might call that a grind.

In matters of the flares, I can live with it. I would like it to be fixed, but I am rarely enough in situations, where I focus my attention on those flares. I am concerned about future additions to the game, though. Will the upcomming lighnings spin, too? What about eventual clouds in atmospheres, when we finally get those (in 2019?)? I just can hope that VR is still an important feature for FDev and future content will be implemented with it in mind.

Interesting, though surely you could have a tool that is orthogonal to the game - kinda like the broadband testers, only between peers. Had a quick look around but the only P2P testers I found were for testing the likes of bittorrent, not quite the same thing. Hopefully someone has more google-fu ;)

No! vJoy is only used to modify jstick axis. For me the only output it gives is for yaw. You set up each axis seperately and it doesn’t effect any actual jstick axis unless you choose it to. The tutorial is good. If you want to programme macro’s to key and button presses use voice attack.

Это в игре как-то отображается? Впрочем, распред у стражей не фонтан.

I've added that as an issue, and it will be sorted on the next EDD. We are on hold until we get the journal updates from Frontier.

starman replied to a thread Q4 Exploration Reveal in Exploration
Will that include Hutton Orbital travel time? Travel distances on passenger missions are insane. I spent ages traveling only to loose consentration at last minute and crash into space station. We spend our whole life in this Elite travel zone. After 4 years gameplay is finally being added?

Only peasants refit their ships. Real billionaires buy a new ship if they want a fuel scoop instead of a cargo rack

In the exploration reveal thread they directly said there will be new stuff on planets. So that answers the question. I also would love to know what these will be, because I'd love to see lots and lots of natural phenomenons instead of alien things (even if I like those as well). There are so many possibilities, starting with fresh meteorite impact sites and such. On the other hand I'd also love to discover these myself... but I want to know... or not? :D

I have been to Beagle point and done various other long distance expeditions. Not that it is any of your business.

I believe credits are not the main concern for most of the explorers. So this should not be a problem. But i think you miss an important point i mentioned in my previous post. The new system will display some signatures and by learning them, explorers could quickly tell what types of objects are there. I get that. But many people are interested in their main physical properties: size and mass. The decision whether to scan the object or not is based on that, not just on the object's type. Example: there are trillions HMCs out there and most of the explorers would just skip them. But if there is a huge HMC (AW, whatever), many would stop and spend some time scanning it. If the new system doesnt allow us to make a guess about the size and mass, this means we will have to scan everything everywhere, or scan nothing. Both options are not good.

Happiness rating that's going to be our next threadnought there will be cries of immersion killing there will be despair that xyz player group have spent years no millennia working the old system and now it's all gone. Everyone from said player groups will of course be quitting the game because of the changes and that will in turn mean the game is dead. Steam charts will be thrown at people and open letters will very much be required. Also there will be general displeasure that voice acting is in the game because for some it's too close to cutscenes

Y que luego vayamos echando en cara de vender humo en otros juegos.. No lo entiendo viendo ese vídeo, es tal cual la experiencia de cuando juegas a Elite y te metes en una batalla entre Capital ships. 100% accurate.
