mazi replied to a thread Oculus Rift issues in Virtual Reality
The most straight forward approach on a Rift is to get the game code from Frontier store to load a copy in Oculus home and launch it there. That's how it worked for me, i had a plain ED install at first too. ED is not running on the latest SDK of Oculus, probably a rather old one. Might be sth that needs to get installed via the store download, or manually by selecting/installing the right Oculus SDK. My best bet would be V1.4.

Yeah. Let's not forget that Horizons aren't just planets, anymore, but 3 years worth of content.

As Frontier gets bigger, I would guess they could eventually branch out to do some phone app games. I wonder if someday Frontier would do an rpg game, whether 3D spacelegs part of ED, or a standalone space type or not kind of rpg game like the recent Pathfinder:Kingmaker which was made on Unity, or the older KOTOR, or even Balder's Gate series. They've got great sound design and their voice acting efforts can be above average games, and the cobra engine seems more than capable of a game like those.

And repairs/parts are not an issue (vs a internal combustion engine car). Not sure what the deals currently are and i know in the uk they got rid of the better buying incentives for electric, so not sure how that has filtered out into the hire-purchase market? Since i got the fiesta ecoboost (1l) instead of a Renault Zoe, i figured this would be my last ICE car and next car i'd likely have to get an electric (future regulations etc). That gives me time to modernize all the house electrics so i can set up charging from home etc. But yeah electric cars are super cheap/reliable to run vs ICE cars, so it might be worth looking into? Last i looked even second hand prices were super low? Oh and advice from my late uncle (an accountant at a swanky international firm) "A car is the worst possible investment you can make during your life, but you'll likely need one, so be prudent as you are set to loose more than you invest in it".

When that Ram Tah Galnet article was up, where he announced that he wants to create ships for more commercial use, I went out for a day and gathered about 5 vessel blueprints, lots of other stuff and scanned a bunch of obelisks. Also unlocked 2 Guardian fighters that day... Then I saw that Krait in the trailer and I know this will be my three-ships-in-one! Krait, Guardian hybrid and explorer. Let em come. I am prepared!

Agree.. There are a lot of people rejecting limited probes without having even tested them...so they have no point too...

Not really - I'd get the Horizons expansion (during the next sale, black friday most likely) if you can afford it. Not necessarily for the planetary landings (although there are planetary missions that pay quite handsomely, once you've figured out the current operation of the crime system), but for all the other small things that come with it, like Engineers, a few more ship types and a bunch of the "chapter 3" upgrades.

so it seems my 660 is now due for an upgrade to fix this. did as you suggested and it didn't resolve the issue. there has been 3 gpu updates since i first reported this issue. issue continued on each update! i have even tried downgrading graphics to low and it continues. i can play far cry 5, Assass cree origins, set on ultra. just to name a few. with no issues! run multiple scans for virus/malware and found nothing. run graphics tests, found no issues. run mem test = found no issues. run cpu tests = found no issues.

When you say PvE do you mean PvE combat or PvE other stuff as well? Because Corvettes aren't for the other stuff, just blowing things up! I go with gimballed Efficient Beams and one small gimballed burst with Scramble Spectrum. I've put Thermal Vent on most of the beams so I can pop a SCB without needing a Heat Sink. Try Bi-Weaves with Termal mods and a bunch of boosters to balance your resistances. look for 60% on Thermal and upto 50% on the others. If you use lightweight armour (engineered of course!) and go easy on the other stuff you can get 380 mps boost and a useful jump range.

Are you sure about this? In the release note i see nothing about finding aliens and doing weather forecasts with them. It says they're used for surface scanning and points of interest.....

Don't forget the humble T-6 and T-7s. Excellent cockpit view, nippy in SC and actually look like space ships. edit: great minds :D

exactly my point. FD have never been on a long range exploration trip from the looks of this mini golf game, we're gonna have to do this thousands of times... I have spent a modest amount of hours in this game (nearly 8,000) {allitnil would you care to share your hours? hehe} my 1st trip was 18 months. This trip will be measured in years I'm 1 month away from year 1 we'll see what it looks like in beta. I like some of what I saw. I did. but not all. I'm worried.
