Curious how OP had trouble distinguishing some of the males from females. Even when they have a disastrously hideous potato face, they're still clearly male or female cos they use the same male or female mesh assets as any others? Any examples? I've literally never seen one that couldn't be identified by that alone, regardless of if they had visible boobies or not...

But you still won't be able to do any of the already existing boring missions with a friend. This will be a new set of nearly identical, separate missions, and *only* these new missions will be shareable. Having the basic 90s-era MMO ability to share any mission with your friends? Still too hard for Fdev to deliver.

Sandro did mention that this was something they are planning to do. I just hope they make smuggling a truly exciting experience.....as well as financially rewarding.

LOL our beloved Ed has stated the devs have said it is the same RNG that Frontier use for literally everything in the game (well ok not literally everything, but probably about 99% lol). So, we know Frontier love RNG as that makes everything awesome and random and new (cough so you dont need actual content). If the OP wants to come back with a sample of, I dunno, 2 million fighter pilots we might have enough to go 'eh? well that's RNGesus for you' and that's about it. So, there you are. Mystery solved. As for those folks who are born with both genitalia, they are very rare, and yes I remember that sprinter who people tried to ban due to her not being an actual 'her' because of the levels of testosterone, which she had naturally due to having male internal genitalia also as I recall (probs mentioned above but couldn't be to read) - anyway, that's a massive outlier - like 1 in millions or 10s of millions or billions even - the current fad about gender fluidity is not about her or people like her - it's...

I suppose to root of my question is... How do you guys feel about the Anaconda being just as good as the other 2 with marginal differences, but not requiring any reputation grind?

I can only say that I was also once on the 7.5% train, until someone told me otherwise. We tested it, worked, and so went on with it :) Currently trying to equalise two MF in a nearby System. Let's see if I can send you some proof soon.

As far as you know, you know not much. Where do you know, what they doing with the escape pods? There is zero prove what happend to them. They could rescue them or whatever, because they didnt attack them. There is a lot of specualation out there. Also if they "consume" escape pods... they are amonia based lifeform, so that could be toxic for them...

I hope they give the new "wing" mission system enough love to stand alone on day. Keeping the old system in place, only because there is a huge pool of templates is not a wise choice in the long term IMO. The kind of missions in the new system should be similar to the old plus larger ones which could only be solved in multiple runs or with huge afford and power if you try them alone. Since the share of the missions is optional, the new system could be good for everything. I hope they turn off the old system in the long run, because even if it may be complicated under the hood, it's not extremely impressive at the front end. The old system had and have to be tuned so often because of exploits and balance issues, I am worried what happens if two separate systems are in place and have to be tuned and balanced in the future.

If no one has mentioned it yet, I can see that the next new ship would have to be the Cheese Cutter.

Wing missions are an opportunity for frontier to create some actual challenge for a change. I hope they do.

Went to check out the second thargoid scout tonight and then afterwards noticed several of the planets had volcanic features listed. Only geysers Ive seen so far in game where at a tourist beacon in Sol. After only 5 minutes managed to find a location. Steam vents and... large rock formations. Dont know the geoligcal terms. The location had various crystals with tungsten, antimony and various less important materials. If its of any interest, the site can be found at Pleiades Sector LN-T C3-4, planet 4 A, long/lat 4.369, -57.6526

I love that this example is used again, in the wild the sick and weak are hunted down first, yes, for food. But you aren't aiming for food, loot or anything else when you do it in a game as the problem has been described, simply blowing up easy targets, nor are you improving anything, heck, by hunting only the weakest of the weak, you aren't even getting a challenge, so how can you even remotely demand others 'git gud' when you yourself are not intending to do so?

It isn't baffling, Adam explained why and it's quoted in this thread. Yes, it is what is being done if you read what I quoted and then what I said. They are making wing suited missions and then letting people solo them if they want to. Whatever 'bolted on, disparate' system you are talking about has nothing to do with what I responded to. It was a decision that was made for balance purposes and finer control. Why it makes any difference how it is done, if it is done and it works sufficiently is what is baffling. If it makes it easier for them to balance wing missions, if it makes it easier to finely tune just wing missions instead of constantly having to rebalance the entire mission system, why is it a point of friction? You aren't the one having to balance the game or code in the changes, a bit too easy to look at it and say its not a good way to handle it isn't it? What people wanted is to be able to do missions with wings, that is what we are getting. It isn't like the way it is being done...

But at 1 to 3 million a mission, avoiding them is kind of like throwing out the baby with the bathwater. So long as you don't carry out the mission at your 'home' base system, there's no problem with being wanted elsewhere. The bounty soon clears, depending on how many you've stacked and completed at a time. Even then, you can get home pretty easily, wanted or not.

Engineering debt is a hell of a thing. One would think that after five projects that all rain headlong into it — one of which ended up mired so deeply in it that it got him kicked out of the industry — Chris would have a decent grasp of the concept. And yet, here we are.
