    I don't really see what a single player would get out of a fleet carrier other than,"look at my fleet carrier!". In fact to make it viable for single player you would need to reduce the costs dramatically. This would effect the feeling of achievement that a group would get.

    Currently trying This Build out. just engineered the weapons today. was missing some mats for 100% g5 OC so its about 75% on most guns. Seems ok for Single targets, not good for sustained farming.

    Could be right, space legs would work pretty well as a paid expansion and I think that would likely bring a fair bit of attention - has to have enough to it thought to make it work, that's the challenge. Some basic atmospherics might not add all that much, I agree (though I'd still like them), but its the future on from that that gets interesting - add in life-forms and some more interactions and types of exploration, that could be cool and might form the basis of a further expansion. Combine that with space legs and things get additionally interesting.

    Yes, each ship should have its own physics, and they shouldn't conform to to universal laws. Oh, wait, that is what happens now. What really needs to happen here is that we need to stop having ships that are designed around how the model and animation look and start having ships that are a base volume and hardpoint configuration. You fill the volume with the components you want, and anything you don't use becomes your cargo volume. As a final step, the game does a compatibility check to ensure that you have enough life support, that the thrusters can lift the ship, and that you have enough mass devoted to sensors to create a navigation image. It doesn't tell you it is a GOOD design, it just provides an up or down check on basic viability. I leave hardpoints separate because they are structurally designed points in the ship created to support the stresses of weapons fire and any given design would only be able to support so many.     Hm.. I cashed out of the Star Citizen project a couple of years ago, so I have no idea how far along they are. What put me off what the flight model they used, but that may have changed by now. Also, X4 is supposed to be coming this year too, OA tells me. Regardless, even without competitors, FDev wont work on a game that that doesn't bring them income. And, done right, Space Legs will probably bring them more income than just about any other expansion. Atmospheric worlds are nice and all, but if they're just more places to collect minerals, or shoot skimmers, I can't see that being as big a seller.

    I do this just to get more green squares about. In my experience about 80% of players in Open accept. It actually makes a lot of the issues raised in the original post really clear - you can have ten people on adjacent systems on your friends list playing right now - same mode, instancable, etc. - and if you hadn't previously met and friended them you'd never even know they were there. Squadrons *might* help a bit with this, but the fifth and sixth suggestions from the original post I think are really important. I built one from EDDN data at a while back. CGs, Engineers, goldrushes/rank grinds, Powerplay sites ... about what you'd expect for the big stuff. (I occasionally ask Frontier to put the system traffic reports - or just local Galnet in general - into the Journal for better accuracy, but I don't expect it's a high priority)
