By why do we have to automate everything? And wouldn't automation miss something from time to time? Granted it is a game and therefore what's there is at behest of the developer (hopefully). Still, as a human, I would like to have meaningful tasks to do, even if those could be automated. :D S

Suggesting this is related to "an emergency" is a fallacy. Quitting out of a game because the phone's ringing, you have a visitor or the dog's honked up on the hall carpet isn't an "emergency". It's a routine occurrence and I'll quit out of a game before I go and attend to it in the same way that I'll save work on my PC or make sure my soldering iron is switched off. If the game won't allow me to do that, it gets task-killed.

Asking first is more appropriate than pre/assuming. It makes your subsequent question seem disingenuous. It's a loaded question, sort of along the lines of: "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" I can think of dozens of other reasons, that are less loaded. Perhaps you should try harder. Unless your motivation is not to understand, but to malign...

No you are not. I said something similar in the second post. I even had to lean back and check my bookcase to make sure mine were still in the correct order. And the CD's. And the towels.

You have to put in the effort of resolving each body with the FSS it's hardly an automated press of a single button much akin to how people look for stuff from earth especially radio astronomy and spectrography, yes the processes are automated these days but it takes time analysing object by object. You still have to travel to map each planet and reveal its resources. You have modified the old Tools god honk for no discovery but why claim credits if as people claim they are not actually interested in the exploration credits just the visual shinies, with your options if people want the discovery credit and money then they have to do the much longer travel for via the original DSS And once again I have read something that wasn't actually there regarding my don't change the FSS ooops. :o

Answer the Call: How Should CIG Market to New Players? I kind of like Twerks new format so I occasionally listen in to see how people stand on this. The comment section seems to agree that SC is not ready for a marketing drive because of a possible horrible first impression. Todays cash cows (aka gamers) can be fickle and used to being pampered. I had my fair share of games that I personally liked but which didnt take the gamer at the hand to lead him/her through the initial experience. I m sure these games lost a lot of potential customers because the majority of people never invested the effort or time to work through the front-up obstacles. From what I read about Star Citizen it seems that the entry experience is very unpolished and not very intuitive so without work on that aspect I also think a major marketing drive would do more harm then good. One caller goes off trying to market Star Citizen as all things that its eventually going to be able to do. Classes, social experience, heavy...

FDev employees can also jump on a livestream at a couple of weeks notice and play the internal build demonstrating new features, gameplay and ships. They do it with enthusiasm, energy and a genuine love for their work which comes across in spades. Especially Ed, he loves it, look at his little face. Brilliant guy, real enthusiasm. Professional devs with a solid working game that they want to make better. Anyone can see it, it's right there on the screen. CIG devs stumble through Q&As, never show anything outside of an editor, everything is 'in the future', look tired, bored and utterly disenchanted, and frankly the whole thing is a scripted marketing exercise that they are contractually obliged to do.

I'd maintain that it's about as viable as an Asp Scout: it's certainly a choice you could make, and it's possible to win fights in it, but it's so markedly inferior to other choices that it verges on pointless. To really be relevant in the "dedicated medium combat ship with few internals and a short jump range" market it has to be at least somewhat competitive with the Fer-de-Lance. To be blunt, it's not; not in this state. The differing hardpoint sizes and flight model made the ship an interesting alternative, but if my choice is between "a ship that takes heat damage constantly" and one that doesn't, I know which one I'm taking out of the shipyard. To quote the poster below you: I will agree with your bottom line: a bump to heat capacity will solve all major issues. If the ship goes live with a capacity above 300, it'll see some use. If it goes live with the current 250, there'll be a brief wave of them before they're largely shelved and forgotten.

I'd suggest (and have suggested) Stealth Regenerative Armour. Its main upside is much better heat efficiency in silent running, along with invisibility to NV based on targets sensor range. You'll be lit up close up, but you won't show up at say 3km and beyond, better sensors will spot you further out. And the best part, it regenerates slowly when not taking damage. The main downsides are; It's heavy, it requires constant power (switching it off halts regeneration, and you light up on NV like a Christmas tree again), defence wise it slots between reinforced and military, but costs more. Any modifications for either overall HP, resistance, or regeneration, effect the other two negatively. HRPs don't regenerate, but I suppose you could add ones that do, requiring power, and whatnot.

I think an exploration ship needs two power plant slots to enable power plant repair in the black. Either split the current slot to hold two half size reactors or allow an optional internals slot to hold a new “auxiliary” generator module capable or powering an AFMU during power plant repairs.

This still strikes me as certain death for the Bubble. I just don't see any way the player base as a whole can keep up the level of dedicated combat necessary to keep the Thargoids from slowly but surely wrecking everything in their path. Either that, or FDev will be forced to nerf the Thargs to the point that they're no longer any kind of legitimate threat.
