One of those things that never got changed after the initial release. For a very long time the Anaconda was the only ship capable of using 8A sensors, the mass would probably have made sense to anyone who designed the 8A after taking a look at the Anaconda's ridiculously low hull mass. For my Corvette I long range the 8D's, around 11km range for 120 tonnes, nearly double the range of stock 8A sensors. All small combat ships and freighters in my fleet use A rated long range.

Well known phenomenom. There have been many studies done on it. Its like when you use a service which asks you to rate them, or go to a restaurtant or hotel that asks you to rate the service. How often do you take the time to fill those out if you have had a normal or postive experience. Then compare that with how often you fill those out when you have had a negative one.

It'is in the annual financial relationship of 2016 if i remember rightly. They clearly stated that they are going to develop Ed (till 2022) due to the lep owner... But if Beyond is how they are "developing" ed then...

I had never heard of this person, but he seems to be incredibly important to human kind, considering the press coverage. It is always sad if someone dies at such a young age. I always feel that a young death is particularly 'unnatural' and 'unfair'.

Hi Yosharian, I can't help you with a specific system name as conditions change, and so do the places where CDC can drop, but I can help you with some additional checks to get a better chance. You've clearly done research and are checking system states, faction alignment and so on, but from what I read you are checking the system state (i.e. The controlling faction state) only. If you check the states of the sub-factions you can see what else might be diluting your hit rate - for example if you find a fed system in boom state you could find HGE containing CDC, but if there are some sub-factions at war, or civil war, or civil unrest, then their states will also have a bearing on what you're likely to find. A different fed boom system without the wars, civil unrest, etc amongst the sub-factions will give you a higher hit rate. Next, if I've a choice of systems that look good, I go for the more populated systems which seems to affect the rate at which HGEs pop up, if not the percentage chance of it...

I'm guessing it's like that for similar reasons to why an 8A fuel scoop costs 289,000,000cr. They set rule for numbers to follow (size 1 weighs this much, and subsequent sizes weight % more than the previous one] without sanity checking the extreme ends.

I would never assume that they killed off the Jedi, just because there's a movie called "The Last Jedi". I would not assume it even if they showed me the last Jedi, told me a hundred times "This is the last Jedi", and this last Jedi told me personally that indeed he is the last Jedi, and he showed me a tatoo on his butt, saying; "I am the last Jedi". Al that means nothing in fiction. I have read too many scifi and fantasy books to fall for stuff like that.

Yep chuck out some stuff, see how much player interest and new player interest there is via sales and metrics and if there's enough interest to justify another paid expansion start working on one or don't cancel what's already in progress. No different to giving away free samples in a supermarket, or the function game demo's used to serve.

OP refers to the benefit of access to the Vega system as being the rare commodity "Vega Slimeweed". Should be "Slimweed". Just an FYI.

The Corvette hull weighs 900t. 8A sensors with long range effect weigh 320t. 100% weight penalty. How can this be right? I know this has been this way for a long time, but really, nearly 30% of an entire ship's hull weight in sensors that detect less than 15k away? How many players actually put this 320t lump in their Corvettes?
