Only thing we moderate "heavily" is those who cannot follow wheatons law of: don't be a dick. Those that attack others tend to be negative about the game, so that might be where people get biased from. They're not attacking the argument, but rather the person. For echo chamber, that's based on voting mostly. Which is not something we control

Hey angry atheist, shouldn't you be burning some Bibles instead of crapping on people using common words in a common-sense way in a simple forum thread? BTW, the "ignore user" function might just mean you have no argument either, if you keep this nonsense up :P

Don't take any missions to Alpha Centauri then - there's a high likelihood that they will require a 90 minute SuperCruise (0.22LY, about 6,942,000 Ls) to get to Hutton Orbital.

Hi there! In order to scan objects for the Codex, you will need to use the Composition Scanner - this was a new scanner that's now built into every ship and SRV. If you check your Fire Groups, you will see it listed there - take a moment to assign it to a fire button. Two things about the Composition Scanner: 1) The Scanner will only scan objects in Line of Sight - you cannot "target" a geological formation like you can a rock or crystal structure. This means lining up your ship or SRV with the object you want to scan; good news is that, in the SRV, you can still access the Composition Scanner from your turret! When you're lined up and in range (at least 50 m away but some people are reporting a greater range), the scanner reticule will glow and you'll get a "Ready to Scan" message on your hud. Then hold down the fire button assigned to the scanner until the scan is complete and watch for the little message in your upper right hand window that will tell you what you just scanned and what...

Personally, I’m planning a trip to the Trifid Nebula before the second Distant Worlds expedition. Other nebula I’ve managed to visit include the California nebula, two others whose catalog number elude me at the moment (I get a lot of my inspiration from Phil Plait’s blog), and my first attempt at “deep space” exploration was in the general direction of the Witch Head nebula and Barnard’s loop. DW2 will be my first true deep space expedition. I’m really looking forward to it.

oke guys there really should be an ability to jump within a multi sun system, just had to wait like 30 minutes to get a pirate, fight lasted 1 minute, just to earn 60000 credits or so, i mean if i had known it would take that long, I've would have picked a different mission, im not buying a game to just have to wait half an hour to complete stuff.

Just because some unspecified use of unspecified facts does not necessarily rebut other unspecified claims does not mean that this is the case here. You were either clueless, underinformed or running a D-K problem, but no matter what your claim regarding astronomical images is and was and always will be incorrect. And proclaiming some irrelevant homily does not mean it applies, the implication fails on the facts as substantiated, and lacking such instantiation, fails. The current system is LESS unrealistic than the original. Just like an ancient comment from me on another thread about how the ships look toylike is based on PERCEPTUAL UNREAL EXPECTATIONS. A vacuum won't have the fuzzing clues we see in atmosphere. Noise in space would not happen. Lens flares don't happen in human eyes. But we come to expect them in our entertainment because fitting expextation is what FEELS real. Even if it's entirely unreal. Your post contained nothing I see as rebuttal, only you digging further into your...

But why - I think that is pretty valuable information, that you can rank up in the navy without having to fire a single shot. Eventually the whole game can be played without to fight anyone. This is not a combat game in the first place, people just think, it would be.
