I’ve loved it. I was taken aback at first as it certainly was taking me out of my comfort zone. But it forced me to finally figure out surface mining and synthesis and to at least study up on neutron boosting. As it turned out, jumponium was all I needed (level 3 on the final stage) and I enjoyed climbing the ladder up to Goliath. This whole plan to get us all up to the top was very well thought out and it’s obvious how much time the planners put into this. Gratz to all involved!

Right? I remember my first “long” trip. Was out to California Sector BV-Y c-7 to Darwin Research for a CG. I remember stocking up my shiny new Type 6, plotting the first leg of the route and pausing to think “am I nuts?” Now having been to the core and Colonia and everywhere else, 1K is a milk run lol.

I didn't know you'd met me :) Now I'm a middle-class grandad, still complaining that there is no chalet cleaning...

I don’t remember who made it, but it’s about five years ago. There were plenty of speculaions in the UA thread, back then. It has never been in the game or anything official.

I can attest it is difficult :) - While no doubt practice is a huge part of it, I suspect there's a good lump of "nature" in there too (ie: natural talent). I suspect I have a low dose of that ;) And singing while playing guitar? It's like the ultimate head patting while tummy rubbing test there is ;)

Ian, I'm sure others also joined the CG by flying out from the bubble as did I, just to be part of it. To turn up at a scruffy, worn-out (but new -remember) station and manage to get to teir 10.5 with less than 3,000 participants just by mining (with a pretty reasonable account being given by the 'few' who chose the combat CG) is really quite incredible. That no further effort was shown by the dev's in producing a station suitable to mark the community effort put into creating it was only a little disappointing. That said, I do look forward to coming back that way in the future when I'm not piloting a 40Ly T10 kitted for mining (yes, I even loaded up with limpets before leaving) :)

EE screwed up again. Pilots are reporting unable to log in at rescue and Aegis megaships AGAIN! what the hell FDev! Does no expansion until 2020 = no bug fixes or work at all on Elite until then?!

We pay $60 a month to get access to free old games and "deals" for old games that doesn't appeal to most of us especially since alot of us already purchased RDR2 a few months ago and ED 2 years ago. We the players are flushing $60 down the toilet and I could use that money to buy F1 every year. I wouldn't bother with PS+ if I didn't play F1 2018 MP, i'd be like others here playing this ED on solo.

I understand what you are saying. And it's true globally. However concerning the evolution of our intellect and the consequences that you quote, you see that it is an evolution / regression. So the evolution is basically a change but also leads to a progression or a regression in some cases.

My 2cents. I don't find Neturon boosting very scary anymore. Been doing it a while. One thing I noticed is most video tutorials don't show their pilots locking on to the star when they first arrive at a Neutron. That's the first thing I do. This allows you to keep an eye on the exclusion zone. I use that to keep well upwards of .25 Ls from that ball of death in the center that will shred your ship. Once you've locked onto that, you ca set yourself up for a run to the outer edges, the wispy part where the blue blooms are just fading into black again and throttle WAYYYY down to under 3%ish throttle. The buffeting is a lot less out there at the edges. And YES, a resounding YES, it was worth the trip up there. The views are amazing!! I followed the recommended route and made it with no issues!

You guys are insane. I thought the effort had been wound back after the pace of the Thargoid invasion picked up. Doesn't your shopping and to-do list stretch over the horizon now?
