True, but for those few SCBs you're getting off successfully, you're paying a price in hull strength that HRPs would give instead, and likely needing a fragile 'easy-snipe' overcharged PP instead of armoured. That heatsink needed for SCBs is also a utility slot that isn't doing something better. In the case of reverb torps (this thread) SCBs are almost as useful as a wet sock. I'm sure in some cases they're great but I'm just saying that they're easily and frequently countered by PVP players now, and I personally prefer to reallocate their weight into making my hull and module armour less vulnerable.

Excellent, informative thread, thank you Commanders! o7 This only solidifies how tough of a road I have LOL. Currently Expert at about 42% to's Grindtastic. lol Think I'll take the 'Vette to that Thraskas beacon and give that a whirl this weekend. I usually just do High RES and Haz RES sites.

What happens to the DW2 subforum then? Will the expedition still have its own section, or will it be funneled back into the exploration subforum?

Anyone know what kind of facilities this station will have once it is operational? The tiers went through the roof on the first phase, way more than any other station the community has built.

Thanks for the info, Will. And with the hope that the transition will go smoothly. Otherwise it will probably be the fault of TJ. ;)

Bloody good to see you old bean, what! Come over here take a seat? Port, Cigar? Maybe something a bit stronger? I know a CMDR who does a very good line in Onion Head (wink, wink).

10,000 Lyrs is one hell of a long pop round the corner! As for myself, when I arrive at this station, I shall be in Mobius, as should any explorer not fully confident about surviving attempted ganks.

Agreed, my presumption has always been that galactic standard cargo racks are specified for a few standard form factors (standard cylinders, the red cylinders that some rares and salvage come in, escape pods, any others...?) and exactly 1t mass per unit. Incidentally, this suggests that in all cases "1 unit" is less than 1t of commodity, because the cargo canister has to have some mass. For some commodities you can well imagine that the materials to safely transport the item might be a significant fraction of the total mass. For most of the bulk commodities, no problem. But there are a few "interesting" cases. One is the low-density liquids. The only one that has a clear problem is Hydrogen Fuel (mineral oil would have an issue if the usable volume is under 1.2 m^3 per unit, but they're probably larger than that). Obviously LH2 is far too low-density, but the best compression methods today don't get above 100 kg/m^3, although that's in the ballpark where you can certainly say futuretech will be able to...

Agreed. Wars are not won or lost in the trenches - but in the command rooms and with supply lines. This is why I always thought of Japanese board game Go to be superior over normal chess in one aspect: Go treats more about securing your supply runs, rather than directly attacking your opponent - due to philosophy of that game.

Your name in the DW2 roster has to match 100% exactly to your name IN GAME. If not, you are not actually joined to DW2. Your name in the forums isn't really relevant at all. Your name on the FC application form has to match 100% exactly to your name In Game. If not, the FC admin can't link your application to any in-game commander. As for EDSM and logging your progress as a participant in the EDSM expdition, your name In Game has to match 100% exactly to your commander profile in EDSM. If they don't match, the EDSM expedition roster won't include your edsm commander profile and your edsm flight logs will not be linked.

Currently have an Asus VG245H (24 1080P 75hz) looking to upgrade to a 1440P IPS monitor with a higher refresh. My rig, I believe, should handle it fine: Ryzen 5 2600 16gig Corsair DDR4 @3000 SSD EVGA GTX1070ti SC So far been considering the Asus MG279Q (1440P, 144hz IPS. Yes I know its Free-Sync and not G-Sync but so is my current monitor without issues and Free-Sync models are cheaper :P). Wondering if anyone has one and has feedback (heard of some QC issues with the panels) or if you might have a suggestion for something else that may be better in a similar range.
