Yes...some people report usable rates. It turns out many of them manipulate the system....they use hacks to enter an offline mode, they log on and on and on until they get an empty server, they log in early in the day, they edit and splice their videos to make it seem like the problems don't exist....and so on. It isn't like they tried to hide it....some of them openly admit to it. Meanwhile, we have multiple players complaining about frame rates and CIG telling us they are aware of the issue and have a plan to fix it. I'd say odds are pretty good the issue exists, no matter what frame rate you get. I do notice there seem to be few other players with you and that it still appears jerky at times. Perhaps it was just my connection

The thing to remember is that the Vulture is a dogfighter, the FAS is a bruiser, and the FDL is an interceptor or space superiority fighter. An FAS has enough staying power that you can outlast most any fight gone bad. If you're coming from a Vulture, it's a definite step up. If you're coming from an FDL, then you're going to miss being able to control engagements with your speed, and you'll definitely miss that C4 hard point. You also need to work your pips and throttle in an FDL much, much more than with the FAS. For comparison: My FDL: My FAS: The FDL is far better in a HAZRES, but if a CZ turned sour on me, I know I could slug my way through to a low wake - and then to a high wake if I misjudged it. Also, you can't discount the value of being able to ram willynilly. I far, far prefer my FDL, but the FAS makes a nice change of pace.

Tricky topic, it is apparent that yes, the ships, structures and scavengers are 'Organic' in behaviour (and reactions when ships moan upon injury or death) but this could just be a sensitive advanced computer system as well (like the concept of AI) These scavengers are automated and exhibit drone-like behaviour. the fact that they drop Thargoid materials strongly suggests they are created by they Thargoids to complete tasks. they do not appear to be sentient or conscious but still react to 'pain' like the ships do. If these Scavengers were Conscious and could think and react like any other creature, then yes, they could be considered 'living'. but currently they do not appear to think for themselves and are automated. So no, they are not living. These organic machines do make sense though. it is one thing to have a computer complete tasks for you, another to have them adapt to hostile environments and learn to avoid damage or potential destruction.

I would like to practice with my repairing-exploration ship prior to DW2. Let me know if you would appreciate some repairs. And, on the plus side, I get out of the bubble to explore, again! (First time was very enjoyable)

I mean, again, I question the value of building a combat python. But if that's what you want, you need military alloys, multiple shield cell banks and a A-rated powerplant to handle them

    1. 13 jumps - mistake right there. 2. Eddb are you doing the single-hop query? That should give you better answers. 3. If you are having trouble with EDDB than have a look at Roguey -

It's the same as in any forum. If you ask in a car forum: "in my Mercedes there's a ratteling noise in the back, what might that be?" you'll get dozens of replies like: "Mercedes? Why did you buy that >censored<? If you'd bought a General Motors that would not have happened to you."

That's because you're flying upside-down - the green should be to the right, even if you live in a country that knows which side of the road is the correct one on which to drive :) But it would be nice if the virtual graphics could match the ship orientation...

Depends on what you want that hardpoint to do. Do you want to smash modules and Powerplants once their shields drop? Go with an Overcharged High-Yield Cannon. Want to apply the Corrosive debuff for your other weapons? Go with a Rapid Fire Multicannon. Frag Cannons don't come in a Class 4 size, so you'd be loosing some armor piercing there. Rather than Frags, perhaps consider a huge PA?

Maybe Mark II's of the Cutter and Corvette, some extra sauce to wash down the grind experienced. So far I'm at 79% for Admiral, but I've done mostly zilch in getting there from first Admiral rank. The grind is not within me, haven't even tried to grind for a Cutter.

If the goal is to just make money, you should try the loop finder instead You input your jump range and the reference system below (your location) and it will find routes close to you that are repeatable and singe jump. Eg: 1. You go to the first station (might be some travel from your initial location).. 2. load up your cargo with said product 3. Travel to the target system which is a single jump 4 Dock, sell cargo, buy the different product it tells you then go back to station 1.. and repeat as long as you get dizzy. Also, if you really want to be sure you're getting accurate data, you can reduce the max price AGE to 2-3 days.. and set the station distance to as much as you're willing to travel inside the system.. as well as the landing pad according to your ship. Hope this helps :) I'm new to the game, but done some trading... till I literally 'got dizzy' and decided to go take passengers with an ASP instead for a change of pace.. Final tip: a docking computer can...

It is a Drake ship, I think they are supposed to be ugly if you are talking about the ship itself. Even me, the token SC "defender" on here, wouldn't be bothered to go to that much trouble. It isn't like there is that much to do even if you get it working.

Just to add that I have run into this several times. Tonight I have had this occur on planet 'KHAIMA ABC 4 F' AT POSITION . Nearly destroyed my ship trying to land - even using thrusters only. It obscured my target on the ground - even though I was right over it !

JB, I heart you like a brother from another mother, but I don't think 100% uptime on TLB is sane. Fun? Yes. Annoying as f---? Oh yeah. Sane? No. Stuff should just not be able to endlessly proc, on connect. I'm up for a fight if someone jumps me. But 100% reliable TLB every hit (did it hit? yes? you have lost target) is just daft. Very few games offer ability to meet or exceed 100% proc on an effect of some sort, without some fairly decent trade off elsewhere; there isn't a trade-off in this instance; just 'disarm' the other player. Or force everyone to just go fixed and have convergence issues. Or not fly anything that doesn't have crappy convergence.

I think this is why there are such polarized opinions on jumps and supercruise: Traveling in Elite is a big part of the actual gameplay. If you don't like the "travel experience", you aren't going to like ED very much.
