They might have done a lot better choosing a true 64-bit positioning engine like It might have solved their ships magically jitter-inching their way to freedom, ramps stutter-bounce-killing poor little rovers, hover bikes with 79 DoF, and a host of other issues. They could have done 1:1 solar system scaling out of the box. Plus it's been around since 2005, and it was good enough for Dual Universe which appears to have leapt ahead of SC in many areas.

The filter is for reward type. We're wanting a filter for data delivery, source and return, etc. What would also be supremely awesome would be a sort. That way we'd not have to scroll through the entire list multiple times(since it pops to top when you accept something) just to get missions to one place.

Wait one, are you suggesting that it is difficult to increase one's reputation with minor factions? That you need to stack the deck by board flipping to gain reputation that you can't do normally? I gather you are suggesting that it is difficult to gain reputation now, that the specific rewards being offered for ++++ or more reputation isn't working? Are you really suggesting that you need to board flip to ensure you get maximum reputation on every mission, and if not, the game is broken?

Are there any "Nebula" or "StellarRemnantNebula" that you can jump to though? They are also listed in the Star Descriptions list, and while such things are named in the galaxy map, I don't recall any being a specifically targetable destination: you jump to a star in a nebula.

I am all for it! We need incentives to fly small ships. - Stations with only small landing pads as proposed. (I expected them for the CQC structures already.) - Missions that require the use of small ships - if not a specific small ship! This could go so far, that the mission giver lends us an (unengineered) ship just for this one mission. But this is off topic. - And finally military “Maintenance Tenders/carriers” with small landing pads, placed in or near conflict zones. This would allow small ships to dock, repair and restock without long travels to stations (which might not exist in the system at all), granting them a small advantage over the usual medium and large combat behemoth and making them a valid option to fly in combat zones.

Thanks I will do, although I'll make sure my group is definitely ready first.

Or better: Aksing for the CMDR to form a REPUTATION, something that minor factions hear about and evaluate when the CMDR is in range. "I heard you brought in the bounty of that general. Well done! Would you work for us along the lines?" Immersion starts with minor faction and CMDR reputation meaning something and opening job offers.

Didnt realize any form of winning in Elite Dangerous was predicated on what mission I got offered. I don't think I ever bested someone because I saw 5 Cargo missions at once. Edit: Actually that sounds like fun satire CMDR A: "Alright I filled up my Beluga with Passengers without board flipping once, what do I win?" CMDR B: "...Have you done the missions?"

I can understand your point of view and I have acrazy ieda for you. You can go to GOG and get SF1 and 2 for under $10. I know its and old game. Pre-mouse DOS. Cursor keys and hot keys the graphics are EGA but they were really good EGA fot the time. It runs in windows under DOSBOX. IF you can overlook the old graphics and controls and play it for a few hours, the story is really entertaining and it manages to create a sense of wonder as you explore the galaxy. I still play it every few years and I would love to see them make a modern version. Heck, if they took the SF1 or 2 engine and reworked the graphics and controls, that would be a big success. trust me it was a good game. Assuming that SF3 follows the same scheme it should be a lot of fun.

If those who defend the current ADS wouldn't poke on their customary right, I'm pretty sure most would have realized by now how the current functionality is almost on the same level like an optional "mission accomplished button", for all those who just want to bypass a mission activity. It's crying so obviously "placeholder" that it hurts, though that view isn't quite fair in light of the all permeating nature of incremental development. But even then it looks like something on a very early stage. After so long it meanwhile has become unacceptable and derogatory for the game's future.

I'm afraid that I just don't understand why people would do this stuff. Heck, I just made Fed Admirial, and the only problem I had with the Alliance was the doughnut shortage....
