That's one particular slippery path I warned him well away from. I read first hand what SC addiction can do to some folks... on Spectrum (of all places) a while back during my first shout at being a backer. But I also credit most folks with some common sense, the common belief of a complete raft of eejits...reinforced by successive eejits randomly turning up who don't do ordinary backers any favours of course... isn't the norm. Some of us are quite normal.

Yep, night time planetary landings. I mentioned this in another post but I just had to say stuff about it. Pitch black and all you can see is the orange circle telling you where the base is. It's more of a fly by instruments as you glide in and you don't actually see the base until you are pretty much right up on it. Between that and the wobbly stuff the ship is doing from gravity it can be a bit of a challenge. It's a hoot and if you haven't done one of these yet, well get ready for some fun. I recommend seeking out a bunch of planetary base landing missions and hope for a night time one.

It's a mirror of the master sheet Roster, it'll be manually updated from time to time. Provided you are signed up on the Roster and you have an EDSM account with the exact same name as your registered Cmdr, you will be on the EDSM Roster at some point.

Good. So WHY is there only saturated full 255s in the pixels of the second image? After all, if the camera recorded more photons, why did it record a blank identical number when you can CLEARLY tell that some parts were still brighter than others, so should have registered a DIFFERENT number. Go on, explain why your image didn't just come back into full view if you divided the image values by, say, 200. It would take the 15 second exposure back to about 1/10th of a second, likely what your camera took on auto exposure. Why when you divide the pixel values by 20 do you not get something that looks like the shorter exposed image?

Which suggests that the best course of action would be for FDev to restore the ADS-style gameplay alongside the FSS - then everybody's happy, no?

I'm not surprised. I've stopped this weekend after 20kly in a Mamba, 2 big nebulae and 8 planetary nebulae, and haven't found anything. I'm also in the Norma Arm, I left IOWHAIL this afternoon and I'm now in one of the PNs near the north border of the region. I'll try my luck in the Elysian Something during the week. It feels like something is off, somehow.

Dont start me lest I get meself banned...I hate to admit it but I do actually place some value on having the privilege to post here at all considering how much of a mouth I have as a critic of the guys who run it. That in itself is a gift one does not lightly throw to one side with a hasty reply in what has, without meaning to, become political and ergo highly controversial and open to someene getting offended far too easily. My apolgies, sincerely. This rant started on the tail end of a near week long bender...theres a reason I never drank before because me and booze equals silly stuff. Im dry now cos someone made me promise to try harder so on reflection, Id still like the thread to close...reason being that Ive already said too much already and this really isnt the place fer me to start spilling my personal issues onto. While the topic itself may well make fer an interesting debate, which is debateable in its own way, I admit that wasnt my original intention. Its yer own fault cos yer way smarter...

Completely agree Lave1990. Exploration feels complicated now in the best possible way, it engages me and makes me feel like I am actually working at it rather than simply pressing a button. I love it when forum members take the time to start a beautifully positive thread like this too, thumb up :D
