I avoided Open for a long time but I've started venturing in more and more recently. I really like the extra tension you feel in Open sessions. If I'm doing something I consider too high risk and don't want to lose what I'm doing to a random asshat in their over engineered flying canon I just switch to a PG. I honestly don't see what is broken with ED's modes the way they are. Choose the one that suits on that particular day. Full disclosure, however, I am on PS4 which is much quieter than PC. That said, I have run many missions out of ShinDez (notorious ganking blackspot) and only been interdicted twice. The first apologised when they saw I was unarmed and the second time I escaped (and thoroughly enjoyed doing so). The one other time I have been fired on in Open, I was at a Guardian site and another CMDR mistook my scanner blip for a sentinel and opened fire briefly before also apologising. So three attacks: two apologies and an escape.

I beg to disagree. Playing in a setting that replicates the full galaxy, including the vast majority of the real celestial objects catalogued to date makes immersion go through the roof, at least in my case. The ability to actually visit all those real spots in a 1:1 setting all intertwined with a reasonably detailed ship management and pew pew system is a very powerful mix that no other space game has at the moment. Other games offer other things, nothing wrong with that. Games are just different. Thank god.

Why do you feel that you cannot play when you have a notoriety greater than 0? Just jump to a system where you are not wanted continue playing for 2 hours then go back and clear your name. Fly Safe o7

. . Actually that's exactly what I expect to happen -if- we have squadron wars and the likes. A second account is a much easier and much safer way to spy on another squad than having your actual main account doing that. I mean, I play MMOs with multi-guilding. People who are in conflicting groups with the same account reliably get spotted and booted. It happened many times. But using another account eliminates all the risk. So in a B2P game, where it's a one-time investment, I wouldn't even be surprised if somebody waits for black Friday or something to buy a dozen of those accounts for cheap to have plenty of spying options spare... .

At the end of the day, video games are all about perception, not reality. It's all about what they stimulate in the player's mind. Having different ship/character models or skins adds nothing in terms of gameplay, yet it improves the experience for many players. Same goes with the size of the "bubble": it'll make things feel better for some.

Thank you! The plan to find multiple uses for fuel limpets and at the same time save 0.1 t of weight seemed a good one, but it looks, I'll still have to reserve one hardpoint for a railgun just in case :)

I have to respectfully disagree. While some aspects of some of the updates have no been my cup of tea, every update so far has bought a lot of positive changes to the game. You should go back to 1.0 a try to remember how utterly barebones it was compared to what we have now. The change is really very big. Sure it could be better is some places and I think the developed the certain aspects of the game at the wrong time (multicrew). The game isn't perfect and still has a lot of untapped potential. But I also hope the new updates bring something fresh to the game. I am really interested in the (excluding exploration and mining) new BGS stuff and the scenario changes.

Why do you think this would happen? What do you do while supercruising to Hutton that varies your fuel consumption? Again, why? I haven't suggested anywhere that scanning planets should consume fuel at a punitive rate.

Yup, this is exactly what ED is. PvP is not a focus, but it can happen, randomly, sometimes at the hands of dongheads, because it's not a happy game wolrd.

Nice catch! As I was writing I didnt specify the difference between actually failing a mission and abandoning (which I meant). Thank you! Will be added shortly in the next version.

Well, i just ordered MSI 2070 ARMOR, because my current Palit 980Ti Super Jetstream was sold off "under" me. :D Difference in performance isnt much, about 20-30% depending on game, but the 100W difference in power consumption and way better noise levels were the deciding factor for me.
