I have both the Track-IR and Oculus. I started with the Track-IR. I believe it greatly improves the feel of ED and unfortunately now greatly dislike playing ED without one or the other of these options. Pro for Track-IR vs HMD: easier to type messages, easier to access 3rd party assets, easier to consume beverages without a straw or removing the HMD, less eyestrain, can use with glasses much easier, no heavy sweat generating box on face. I use the clip on a ballcap as it allows me to choose whether to play with my headset or not, and I find tracking more reliable. The powered clip-pro requires usb power (another port used) and a headband or headset to mount it to. The relatively short cable frequently got tangled with the headset cable, too. Finally, as it mounted to the side if the head, I would lose tracking whenever I turned my head too far. Annoying.

They just need carnivores (and dinosaurs in general) to act like actual animals instead of mindless murder machines. A T-rex with plenty of room and a full belly shouldn't run around murdering every other non-Tyrannosaur in the same cage as it. However the numbers of dinos isn't directly an issue since the diversity can allow for a large degree of specialization. One could easily fill a park with nothing but large herbivores or carnivores. Granted I feel like the game could use more medium/small carnivores like raptors.

I love TrackIR, wouldn't play without it (though it's probably a step back in terms of immersion from VR). It probably takes a bit of tweaking to get it exactly as you'd like. Important too to get a profile that adds 'stops' where the side-screens are. i.e. if you turn your head to view the side-screens they'll pop up, and turning your had a few degrees more does nothing meaning the screens are nice and stable in your view. But turn a bit more, and you can still look back much further. Without those stops, the side-screens can be really annoying and shaky.

Get a laptop? Sucks that you can't copy/paste from it, though.

With the introduction of mats traders is there a more efficient way than sitting at distro centres for hours at a time scanning wakes and hoping RNGeezus smiles down upon you?

Apparently, if it's a different size then it's a completely different thing! Wow! Now I totally understand how CIG is able to make all those revolutionary, never before done breakthroughs in game development! It's all different sizes! How large is their universe again? Oooooh, different size font!

This is the EXACT reason that I don't take a lot of missions. Well, that and the game jerks you around a lot, and there's what, hundreds of those mini factions who need to be cozied up with? It's just not worth doing- you are almost required to pick an area and max out a few factions for good missions, and fly back to the home station over and over.

OK folks, time for a quarterly update. Here are the exact same stats breakdowns I posted three months ago, only with current EDSM figures. First, the minor factions list. Since destruction of MFs is not yet possible and there's no method for procedurally-generating new MFs, the only changes are as a result of new factions being manually added by FD. Federation Empire

They're generally caustic to whinge-based ranting. People with genuine PLS HELP moments usually get very good help, and even some of the saltiest OMG I WRECKED MYSELF posts seem to get genuine responses in amongst the sniper fire.

Yeah, it did very quickly become "Will they, won't they" procedural. Hopefully Netflix will give them more freedom to move away from that template.

No point asking FD for it. Third party sites require third party software and consoles are an extremely curated environment. I doubt any on of those guys is going to buy a console dev license and jump through all the console development hoops just to put some free mapping/engineering/shipyard software on your game box.

Interesting! Never saw that post before. It was 8 months ago though, and plans do change.. I haven't a notion of what that content could be though. Cosmetics have rarely been part of the LEP, so it's unlikely to be those. Unlikely to be new ships either, since some will complain it's P2W. Landing on new planetary types - possible, but some will still call that P2W unless there's no new gameplay/materials/missions to go with the new planet types.

They probably are this patch wasn't created in two weeks, this DLC is a slice of content left out of the game so as not spoil the film for the americans audience. There are likely to be a few bug fixes in there as well, may be a bit of rebalancing.
