Isn't it interesting that this quest for Raxxla has us, in a way, frameshift driving through history and deep into Greek mythology? And there have been so many theories, but thinking out of the box for a moment, i'm curious if anyone has done research on the name Raxxla itself? Why Robert Holdstock chose that name to be precise. A simple search on the google search engine would simply be about the mystery itself, a link to this forum or youtube videos. So i went to the internet archives, basically a complete sweep of the internet of anything on ''Raxxla''. And what do I find? Well, first a few Computist Issues published back in the 1980's, and then something rather interesting. Lots of Greek. Half way down the page you'll see the word with the two '''' letters, that's the highlighted word when searching for 'Raxxla'. Simply typing 'Raxxla' in a translation detector will only show 'Raxxla' with english detected due to the english alphabet. So I had to free hand that word myself to get the...

FSS doesn't populate the system map in undiscovered systems. So in those systems he'd have to 'faff about in the fiddly minigame instead of flying the ship'. At least I think that's what the idea is.

Do you mean that thread about people killed at the beginning of DWE2? That's an important exception because *roll the drums* it was completely predictable that the gankers would be there, they look for any concentration of CMDRs like CGs. If I were a DWE2 member I'd have gone to Fleetcomm, BTW, that happened before they began exploring and they were still in the bubble. If that's not the thread you are talking about you can cite that thread, I'll have a close look. BTW, the fact I mentioned before has been blatantly ignored by you, talk about denial...

I think it will have non-combat activities too. It won't be just a shooter. Betheda's been recycling their Elder Scrolls/Fallout titles for years. I'm not hyped for an unannounced project. They've fixed a lot of bugs, check the patch notes. Claiming they're doing nothing is ridiculous.

I don't need one. Other people have it all under control. There's a whole thread about the carnage, LOL! It's a legit safari out there! But keep ignoring the facts, it's your MO.

I'm pretty sure most long-term players have a stack of currency they have paid for in Elite's other currencies: Engineered parts. Time, mats, and credits rolled into one. I just built a Krait, out of a crate of spare parts. Not particularly because I wanted one, but it was the best fit for the parts that were stacking up. This game/campaign has been going on too long. The GM needs to start a new one.

They could designate certain regions for squadrons to construct their own stations. A lot of players yearn to do more than own a bunch of ships.

Doesn't look emulated to me, looks like you've already gotten exactly what you're asking for, so what's the problem? If it's just that you're missing having a class 1 module crammed into your ship, buy a class-1 MRP.

OK, up to watch the UFC so a quick look at the Canon mega-thread shows that the first few alien settlements (large wreckage sites) were found due to being pointed there by some listening posts. Further down the thread we see that several ancient ruins were found due to the locations appearing in Galnet.

What are you talking about? People should use the mode that suits them at the time. I've always maintained that. Your ridiculous strawmen and obtuse ramblings are tedious.

Wow! I'd no idea that this was so complex! It's a bit flattering to think I may have been implying something, when I really don't have much idea what I'm talking about! :) Q Perhaps the game doesn't bother with all the 'real-world' factors like pressure etc..? ie if the game regards the surface temperature of a tidally-locked planet as being constant across the entire surface, mebbe it doesn't bother with all the other niceties either...? (Mebbe as you say some 'guru' will pop in and provide an answer)

But you are Dbrn47, we all are. There is no conflict, only the modules to allow the functionality in undiscovered and partially discovered systems are missing. I even put up a video showing it working: Emulating the ADS in 3.3

Nice, I usually mod the Groms with Penetrator. I only got the Pacifiers last Thursday for this account.

Burden of Proof lies with you. Any official statement of "Oops, our bad", from any of the developers, team leads, QA analysts, project managers, or even the fellow who empties the bins in the meeting rooms, will suffice. Am actual Oversight would have been Removing the ADS but not implementing the code for the FSS. Or removing the ADS but making the FSS a module that had to be purchased and not swapping it into the ships of those "out in the black". You can be 167% assured this didn't just "slip by" a team of programmers. It was completely, fully and 100% intentional, though not with the intent of twisting anyone knickers out of spite. Now, this isn't to say that some degree of the functionality of the ADS couldn't have been retained - it could, and you honk-and-go explorers could still fill up your sticker-book System Maps, but it's pretty obvious this isn't the gameplay Frontier deemed they wanted in their game. Much in the same manner that the PGA decided running over someone's ball with your...

You still need to fly your ship if you want to investigate bodies past initial scans.. which I imagine explorers would want to. The 'I'm not flying my ship anymore' bit isn't something I can ever agree with since I fly it plenty still.
