Guardian grind questions

It's not as quick and efficient as doing it from the SRV, unless you count the fact that they SRV won't get the relic 98% of the time...
There's something to be said for having fun and doing something new instead of doing it as quick and efficient as possible! :D Also less sentinels to waste time on, as you can mostly ignore them.

FUN?!!! THIS is a GAME! We'll have none of that around here! You must be one of them psycho weirdos my mother warned me about...

I wouldn't mind doing it on foot, but to me it's rather pointless and tedious to do it that way. Park SRV, disembark (cargo scoop closes) shoot object, get back in SRV, lower scoop, drive over and scoop object... 8 key presses to the SRV method of target, shoot scoop. Now, if they actually allowed you to pick said shot item, even with a handheld tractor beam like Star Citizen has, then I'd be all in for doing it on foot.

Which site (system)?

The SRV and Relic is an odd one, granted.
Try timing going round on foot and bringing up the pillars, against driving the SRV, getting the shots lined up 'just right' then heading off for the next one - you may be pleasantly surprised.

The mats I just do for fun on foot - it saves SRV ammo for later - even the sentinels can be shot with plasma guns, but that isn't quick!

Thanks so much! I guess I got lucky and the message sent me to the right place, also explains the reason why I couldn't get the alter to accept the guardian relic. Lesson learned!

I guess I will pick up some extra blue prints of each type. Might as well while I farm mats.

Hopefully my modifications I did to my rudder pedals (I use them to steer the SRV) wil help tame that beast.
i think more than two required, i just came back from two diffrent guardians sites. i came back with 5 of each, weapons, modules. i already had the ax slf version from previous trips.it quite easy too get them now once you workout the pylons are.and the sentiels are easy to get rid off.none of this jumping around in a srv, static srv still works well.

one noted thou, make sure you put point defense on top of your ship, that stop any missile attacks.

GL with your journey. that the worst part of constantly jumping.

Yes, I suppose it depends on what you need. The last times I've been out and it's been just for weapon blueprints as I had a lot of guardian mats already. So it was pick up a relic, maybe kill a skimmer or two, then park it in front of the altar/terminal. Get out and power the pylons, get the blueprint and then off to the next weapon blueprint site.

It's one of the best integrations of old horizons and new odyssey gameplay, but yes it would have been great if you could have picked up the mat drops on foot too.

The same applies to many other things, I'd love if I could run around and shoot braintrees and pick up the mats on foot, but unfortunately they didn't go the mile on integrating old and new content.

I did 4 runs last night, 5 if you count the glitched one. I got tired of the bugs and repetition. Looking to finish a module blueprint then head back to the bubble to do something else. I did a ton of upgrades and mod recently, spent about 700 mill so I need to add to the bank account. Might do some mining, always enjoy that.

The travel doesn't bother me, it gives me a sense of distance. What does bother me is traveling to a secondary star for 10 plus minutes... That's senseless dead gaming time.

If you have Odyssey, you can do the Guardian site pylon raising on foot - it is quick and efficient.

That's not too bad to do it that way on foot, though that layout is easy to do in an SRV. I was at a module site earlier today and it was a real pain to do in an SRV. As long as you are not worrying about mats its cool. By the end of 4 rounds I was sick of the module site, trying to get into the nooks an crannies to scoop mats was really annoying.

By the third round I just wanted to finish up the blueprint and didn't get any mats unless they were easy.

I did take down a Guardian skimmer with my kinetic rifle.
