Spring dlc Speculation 2023

A lot of puffin exhibits aren't really designed in ways that gives them reasons to fly a lot, from what I know of. It is mostly about jumping from a "cliff" and down in the water. The exhibit in the current form doesn't seem very fitting for them. They would appear way too active. Then I would rather see them in a habitat with a cliff enrichment or something.

Looking briefly on zoochat, yeah it does seem the whole cliff design makes the majority of habitats

However there are some more open aviaries that might allow sustained free flight. Typically these are for the tufted puffin which is a bit larger than the Atlantic

Maybye having a WE with an underwater mission should work with semi-looped animations. The exhibit should look how Captain callum showed in the photoes, but a free open aviary like with bats and butterflies is always welcome. I really hope that at some point we get puffins, they are the last keystone species that we need for arctic sections.

Musk ox, belugas, walrus, puffins there’s a couple imo

I love the speculation. We've gone from islands to drylands to puffins.

I'm hoping for more aquatic animals. It's a challenge to make them a good looking habitat, so I'm looking forward to any new ones

Guys its going to be a longgggggggg wait. probably still 100 days from now.
Truth here. Speculation and talk is all good, but I'm thinking we won't get any hints of anything at all until mid March, and that's at the earliest. Someone mentioned maybe an Easter week release since that's kind of been a thing, by coincidence or pattern, and that's April 9th. Everyone put on their patience pants and take a seat, it's going to be a while.

This whole Easter release talk seems to make quite a few people think that a petting zoo pack is the most likely while we got the ravenous Tasmanian devil horde thinking it's islands. I'm gonna laugh if we get a U-turn on expectations and get a so out the way pack that nobody would of thought

Best put on those patience pants and wait out the winter until any sort of hints will come out, Even if it's as vague as the new paths for the twilight pack

Seeing how coastal is really popular for a coming dlc, I dont know if this will have scenary pieces due the coastal like building pieces are from the aquatic dlc
Im more seeing an island animal pack with certain animals from coasts
  • Walrus
  • Rockhopper Penguin
  • Sea Otter
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Echidna
  • Brown Kiwi
  • Fossa
  • About the new walk exibith, maybe some coastal animals with no big differences like puffins.

Interesting idea, a pack with walrus, sea otters and puffins would be a definite buy from me. Going back to my puffin comments earlier, not too sure about puffins being a walkthrough exhibit animal since there are examples of puffin free flight aviaries the size of a tiger habitat

It's been a clear pattern for 5 years in a row and as much as people like to say that Frontier throws curveballs once in a while, there are still patterns to distil and this one is pretty much an obvious one. I think it's pretty safe to speculate that if we're getting more support this year, the next spring dlc will be released on the 4th of April and if they don't change the current reveal pattern that would mean us getting news in the week of the 20th of March.

This whole Easter release talk seems to make quite a few people think that a petting zoo pack is the most likely
Given that we've gotten 5 packs released in the week of Easter that had zero connection with Easter I'd say anyone who uses that as a base for their theory is speculating a bit wildly 😅

I don't know if It's too early to talk about dates and stuff but I think It's clear to say that the next dlc & update 1.13 will launch in the 4th of april. why? we can see that frontier release their planet dlcs 5 days until the Easter. so the dlc should annouce on the 21th of March (That it also on Tuesday so it's very fitting).
what the dlc would be? yeah that's unknown question because it can be everything. also I noticed that frontier with all the two biome based packs that we got so far have in their name "land" wetLand, grassLand! so I do think that if we will get more biome based packs they probably will be something like Highland, Dryland, Shrubland, Island and like that...
it means something for the next dlc? NOPE.
the next dlc can be or Biome based pack or Theme based pack (like easter!) or something completely different like aviary pack or Aquarium Pack.
also the next dlc should give us a least one of the top 10 of the meta-wishlist.
I know this post don't really change anything when it comes to the next dlc but that's what we should expect. we really right now in Blank Space we even don't know if the dlc would be Animal Pack or Scenery Pack it really hard we have more then 2 months to wait until news should start to appear. I would recommend in this time play Planet Zoo or just do fun things that u like and when it will come that when it when it will come.

If there is something coming, Frontier most likely will hint existence of next DLC on 19th January (Source).
Thoughts?
I thought jwe2 was one of the least popular frontier games according to the monthly steam stats yet it continues to be a cash-cow , interesting. Great news of course planet zoo continues to be financially successful with it soon to be entering its 4th year of support

From the trade paper, "However, sales performance during key price promotions in December 2022 fell below expectations, with some evidence of increased player price sensitivity".

While the report then states Planet Zoo was one of the most successful performances of 2022, does that former statement imply the Grasslands Pack underperformed?
