Power regulator limit

Is there a limit on how many power regulators you can carry? I had 4 in my backpack and looted another 5 off SRVs on reactivation missions, but when I returned to base I still only had 5.

Yes, there is a limit... 1000. Sure, you can't carry any other goods then... but 1000 you should be able to hold :D
Of course on your ship's inventory... on your suit you can carry the maximum of backpack capacity... 10 up to 30 depending on suit, together with other loot.

You are sure, you did not loot the degraded power regulator? Most SRVs and Ships give you only the degraded, maybe 1 out of 5 something the normal one... you can differ them by view - the "good" one is glowing slightly. Or just take a look into your inventory.

Yes, always watch your inventory levels. Sell off junk you don't need. If you have a fleet carrier, install a bar and you can transfer another 1000 items to it (as well as sell some items for extra cash).

No, but it does add additional storage space (plus a place to buy/sell items). Downside - the bar has a flat 1000 inventory slots that must be shared across all three footlocker items (i.e. components, items, and data). That is irritating.
Uh, no. You get the 1000 with the carrier. The Bar just acts as a front for the space. I also bought it because I like having the social space for the crew.

But do they ever thank you for that, NO!

I'd settle for them acknowledging my existence. I'm so needy!
Hey, have either of you been shot down by your own carrier after they welcomed you back? No? Line starts behind me... lol

If you want the details: it happened back when the game still had that bug where if you had a ground mission, and that settlement was tipped of you were coming and would automatically go hostile, and you went there, they went hostile, and you left without engaging, when you when to the next port of ANY type, they also went hostile. So I aborted a run on a military base, because their CAP was more than my current ship could handle; I headed back to my carrier to swap to a bigger ship, was welcomed back, landing request was accepted and then they opened fire when I was within 2 km. At first, I thought they were shooting at a naughty NPC... then I saw my shields drop, heard the warnings, and BOOM... rebuy screen!

And where did I respawn, you might ask? Why in the very carrier that shot me down, of course! Cheeky little *(!&!!. :D

Really? I could swear I couldn't transfer the footlocker items to the carrier until after I bought the bar. Meh. It isn't that expensive, and I do use the trade function, so I'll keep it regardless.

Learn something new about this game every day...

Had that a couple of times - same scenario!
"Welcome to our carrier" - boom!

Combat Air Patrol, more likely - but Close may loosely work too although i dont remember seeing it being used.

Yeah, that would be CAS. 😄
In the US military, it stand for Combat Air Patrol; in the navy, these are the fighters that patrol around the fleet ready to intercept incoming threats.

The term is also used in 2004 reboot of Battlestar Galactica, fyi. I'm not familiar with CAS, perhaps that is an acronym used in other countries.

Regardless, I was referring to the the 2-3 ships that often circle above military installations in Odyssey; if the settlement goes hostile, so do they. They stay hostile, even if you disarm the alarms. What is actually patrolling can vary. Sometimes it is Viper MKIIIs and Eagles, other times it's Pythons, Anacondas, Chieftains, and Challengers. In this case, it was two pythons and an Anaconda, which was more than whatever I was flying (honestly don't recall) could handle. So I was going to go back to my carrier and get my Anaconda or Corvette, come back, wipe out the patrol, set down, deploy via Scorpion, clear the base, and then recall my ship (which would probably come under fire from patrol reinforcements). And I did go back and clear that place out... my carrier crew just expedited my landing request/gave me a new ship (after rebuy) because service is job #1 for them. :sneaky:
