(It's no wonder all of these are in my top 10 mammals)

Masai Giraffe
Eland
Bontebok
White Cheeked Gibbon

For the sake of readability and general interest, could you split this into zoo areas and add the animals which aee in the game?

I think its interesting to see just how much we DO have compared to real life as much as what we dont yet have.

My turn with the zoom zoo.
zoom-erlebniswelt-expeditionsplan-2021.jpg

This is the current zoo map, featuring most but not all animals of the zoo.
Most notably is that they have allmost no terrariums or vivariums, with only one for a ballpython, one for round eared elephant shrews , obe for green tree boa, one for a forest skorpion and one for a mossy frog.

In Asia the left circle weve got: 6+2 easy subs/14 (16)
1. Binturong
2. Siberian Tiger
3. Red Panda
4. Southern Pig Tailed Macaque (could be subbed by the japanese Macaque)
5. Bactrian Camel
6. 10+ Free flying Birds in the tropical hall, most notably a pair of free roaming critically endangerd edwards pheasents
7. Green Tree Boa
8. Free Roaming Chinese Water Dragons
9. Free Flying Malaysan Flying Fox (subbed with egyptian)
10. 5+ free roaming turtle species
11. Asian Small Clawed Otter
12. Sumatra Orang Utans
13. Grey Hulman
14. Grey Slender Lori (Not one the map because its a recent addition)

And in the past they also had Prevost Squirrels and Bali Mynahs in the habitat now Holding the Loris

Tortoise Garden: 0/1
1. African Spurred Tortoise (subbed by another tortoise)

Petting Zoo: 0/9 (10)
1. Hinterwald Cattle (Small hardy diary cow from southern germany and switzerland)
2. Danish Protest Pig (Rare pig breed, bred to look like the danish flag)
3. Guinea Pigs
4. Domestic Goose
5. White Polled Heath (small, hornless sheep breed from northern germany)
6. Peacock Goat (black and white goat from the alps)
7. Domestic Chicken
8. House Mouse
9. Miniature Donkey

Until last year they also had a shetland pony living with the donkey, but she sadly died of old age.

Alaska, the right and oldest circle: 10(11)+2 easy subs/15(16)
1. Eurasian Lynx
2. Snowy Owl
3. Racoon
4. North American Porcupine
5. North American Beaver
6. Striped Skunk
7. Reindeer
8. European Brown Bear (Could be subbed by the himalayan)
9. Kamchatka Brown Bear (Could be subbed by the Grizzly)
10. Californian Sealion
11. Polar Bear
12. Timberwolf (yes thats how they are classified there)
13. North American River Otter
14. Moose
15. Black Tailed Prarie Dog (They are next to the picnic area south of the skunks, not on the map yet as their habitat is quite recent)

In the past they also had arctic Foxes
As a little funfact, alaska was the first part of the zoo that was finished. The Zoo obtained funding from local investors aswell as some larger german food concerns after presenting the selffunded lion and hyena habitats.

Africa, The top and largest circle: 16(17) +8 subs/39(42) (Most missing animals here are antelopes (5, take that anti african antelope people) or birds (7, 3 of them being aviary birds)
1. Watussi Cattle
2. Somali Sheep
3. African Dwarf Goat
4. African Lion
5. Common Gennet
6. Spotted Hyena
7. Sable Antelope
8. Common Eland (Could be easily subbed)
9. Indian Crested Porcupine
10. Dwarf Mongoose
11. Greater Kudu (Could be easily subbed)
12. Grant Zebra
13. Springbock
14. North African Ostrich
15. Yellow Necked Spurfowl (Look them up, quite the neat option for an terrestrial african small bird=
16. Black Cheeked Lovebirds
17. Lowland Nyala
18. Southern Ground Hornbill
19. Impala (Easily subbed)
20. Rotschield Giraffe
21. Blesbock (Easily subbed)
22. Pink Backed Pelican
23. Olive Baboon
24. Meerkat
25. Dwarf- and Greater Flamingo
26. African Penguin
27. Sitatunga (Easily subbed)
28. Saddle-Billed Stork
29. Hippo
30. Southern White Rhino
31. Chimpanzee
32. Round Earded Shrew
33. White Faced Whistling Duck
34. Hamerkop
35. Ball Python (easily subbed)
36. Serval (could be subbed with the caracal)
37. Moustached Guenon
38. Aviary with 3 different African Birds
39. Red Ruffed Lemure

In the past they mostly had more aviary birds that got replaced with small mammals like the dwarf mongoose and the common gennet, but they also had marabou storks and eurasian griffon vultures in the big savanah and free flying egyptian fruitbats in the hippo house.
So in total weve got 40/78, with additional 12 easy subs so 52.
Around 2/3 are in the game, but most notably most animals not in the game are "additional" animals to larger habitats with other members allready in the game so only a small amount of habitats would actually stay empty.

My local zoo is London Zoo. There are lots of birds and exhibit animals at this zoo, and whilst I could’ve included exhibits, there are a TONNE (that I can’t find listed anywhere). Flying birds, I didn’t include simply because we may not get them yet.
But here is a list of, to my knowledge, the animals we are missing from ZSL London Zoo that would really benefit this game:

Ungulates
  • African Pygmy Goat
  • Alpaca
  • Kunekune Pig
  • Natal Red Duiker
  • Red River Hog
  • Reeve’s Muntjac

Big Cats
  • Asiatic Lion
  • Sumatran Tiger

Primates
  • Aye Aye
  • Black Capped Squirrel Monkey
  • Coppery Titi Monkey
  • Diana Monkey
  • Eastern Black and White Colobus
  • Goeldi’s Monkey
  • Golden Headed Lion Tamarin
  • Grey Slender Loris
  • Hanuman Langur
  • Lac Alaotra Gentle Lemur
  • Northern White Cheeked Gibbon
  • Potto
  • Red Faced Spider Monkey
  • South African Bushbaby
  • Sulawesi Crested Macaque
  • White Naped Mangabey

Other Mammals
  • Bokiboky
  • Brown Nosed Coati
  • Cape Porcupine
  • Dwarf Mongoose
  • Kinkajou
  • Lesser Hedgehog Tenrec
  • Linnaeus’ Two Toed Sloth
  • Malagasy Giant Jumping Rat
  • Southern Tamandua
  • Yellow Mongoose

Habitat Birds
  • Humboldt Penguin
  • Scarlet Ibis
  • Victoria Crowned Pigeon

Habitat Reptiles
  • Philippine Crocodile
  • Red Footed Tortoise

Walkthrough Exhibit Animals
  • Atlas Moth
  • Golden Orb Weaver Spider
  • Malachite Butterfly
  • Mormon Swallowtail Butterfly
  • Owl Butterfly
  • Postman Butterfly
  • Rodrigues Fruit Bat

Obviously lots of these species listed have very adequate in game substitutes, but I thought I may as well list them since it wouldn’t hurt.

Additionally, I may have not included every single animal. It’s hard to find data on all of London Zoo’s species, since many are small habitat or exhibit animals. But this is to the best of my knowledge. Do add any on that I’ve missed!

Here's a handy species list from zoochat - https://www.zoochat.com/community/threads/london-zoo-walkthrough-review.485206/

The park has a ridiculously large bird collection and there's likely numerous species that would work as habitat animals that I forgot to mention here.

~~~
Additionally, because I can, here's a list for Alice Springs Desert Park, which is the zoo I've visited the most (3 times) outside my local area despite it being 1,500 km away (that's local enough, right?). The bulk of the park's species diversity outside their phenomenal nocturnal house is made up of aviary birds, hence why the species list from that part of the zoo is so overblown here.
Woodland:
Numbat
Red Kangaroo
Dingo
Emu
Desert Rivers:
Australian Bustard
Perentie
Nocturnal House mammals:
Short-beaked Echidna
Western Quoll
Red-tailed Phascogale
Golden Bandicoot
Greater Bilby
Burrowing Bettong
Brush-tailed Bettong
Mala
Greater Stick-nest Rat
Plains Mouse
Spinifex Hopping-mouse
Central Rock-rat
Ghost Bat
Nocturnal House reptiles:
Centralian Kn*b-tailed Gecko
Northern Spiny-tailed Gecko
Spinifex Delma
Slater's Skink
Gidgee Skink
Fire-tailed Skink
Desert Skink
Panther Skink
Thorny Devil
Central Bearded Dragon
Lined Earless Dragon
Central Military Dragon
Central Netted Dragon
Cane Grass Dragon
Pygmy Mulga Monitor
Children's Python
Centralian Carpet Python
Woma
Desert Death Adder
Mulga Snake
Lots of extremely rare and niche species here - things like malas, burrowing bettongs and central rock-rats aren't kept in any other zoo, while others like thorny devils, numbats and golden bandicoots are only found in 2-3 zoos. Probably the zoo I'd like to recreate the most (it's my favourite that I've visited) while simultaneously the least likely to get a roster anywhere near close enough to replicate.
