No, but another carrier can be very far away, so my conclusion is that it would add value even if you have only one ship..Nothing that another player's carrier cant do.

Do you tend to use it more for trading activities in the bubble, or exploration? Have you taken it on a long journey? Which services do you find handy? Do you recommend some specialized ships on it?Nothing that another player's carrier cant do.
Value added is subjective. I argue the cost/gain is rather negative. Especially wirh just one ship. No, but another carrier can be very far away, so my conclusion is that it would add value even if you have only one ship..
Oh. Do you only have one ship? You do not have a fleet carrier? You seem to have opinions on it, I thought you would have one.Value added is subjective. I argue the cost/gain is rather negative. Especially wirh just one ship.
- While the advantages are significantly reduced I don't believe that to be very true.
- Most players that have 6 billion* saved for the purchase of a carrier have more than one ship.
- The discussion is moot for those that do not have 6 billion* for the purchase of a carrier.
I have none. I dont have either time nor credits to maintain one.Oh. Do you only have one ship? You do not have a fleet carrier? You seem to have opinions on it, I thought you would have one.
Please note my previous comment:

No. It's what you mean. I mean that I see no need for a FC when I can just use one on the map.Perhaps what you actually mean is a fleet carrier isn't useful for someone that does not play the game?
So you have been making use of other players fleet carriers. Thats cool. And you see some value. Maybe when you get one of your own you can share some of your own opinions. Good bad or whatever.No. It's what you mean. I mean that I see no need for a FC when I can just use one on the map.
Of course I see some value. It's just that they aren't really a good solution for the galaxy being too big and player ships having to jump every couple deka-ly. But since the players have populated the galaxy a bit it is a remedy for the travel-related stuff. So you have been making use of other players fleet carriers. Thats cool. And you see some value. Philosophical game discussion with someone with minimal first hand experience of the specific topic running well off topic.Of course I see some value. It's just that they aren't really a good solution for the galaxy being too big and player ships having to jump every couple deka-ly. But since the players have populated the galaxy a bit it is a remedy for the travel-related stuff.
However, no player activity can really mend the design problems - there's just not enough players and those who are might not be active when you are. It's a bit like a tiny Fermi paradoxon due to the MP nature of ED.
VoroshkI mean how would I know what you have experience with and vice versa, right?
Yes. Like you, I have played the game. Are we done exchanging meaningless credentials?Voroshk
Evidence that I at least play the game. EDO. More than one ship. And a carrier. And some exploration. Key ingredients for discussion on this thread. I might have crappy opinions. But at least they are my own. Based on first hand experience playing the game. And relevent to the OP's thread.
Edit: Do you have the key ingredients to offer a first hand informed opinion of your own on the OP's thread topic?
"I don't like someone else's opinion, so we need ways to shut them up for good." I mean some people already complain I was being off topic. How about you create your own thread about this, grantedly very toxic topic, and see how it goes?At times like these I really think it would be beneficial for these forums if an active player account was mandatory. Just revoke the right to post (or limit it to the OT chatty areas) if you have not played the game for longer than a specified period of time. Imagine how nice this place would be if people who have no first hand experience would have to keep out of a discussion about things you need first hand experience for.
Do you have the key ingredients to offer a first hand informed opinion of your own on the OP's thread topic?
Nope. Cause you havn't provided any evidence or statements that you have first hand experience to criticize other people's opinions on this thread. Or to provide any valueble opinion of your own. Honestly I very much do not believe you have played Odessey for more than 10 hours total. Possibly zero. My opinion is based on what you have posted here and elsewhere on these forums.Yes. Like you, I have played the game. Are we done exchanging meaningless credentials?
I didn't do any such thing. I said my opinion and that's it. No idea why people keep droning about mine but there we are. And you know what you can do with your "evidence"? Stick it up somewhere we don't see it anymore. Noone needs to proof any your bogus requirements to give their opinions here.Nope. If you obly fly 1 ship then a fleet carrier gains you nothing. Should be pretty obvious.
I think that actual experience of playing IS relevant. If you have only played relatively few hours, then you cannot have the depth of experience that someone with 000s of hours and significant experience of the various game activities bases their opinions on.Yes. Like you, I have played the game. Are we done exchanging meaningless credentials?
Is it a Krait? Can you explain this in detail? I do have a fleet of ships but generally stick to 1 ship with my main carrier. Cheers
I have played hundreds of hours.I think that actual experience of playing IS relevant. If you have only played relatively few hours, then you cannot have the depth of experience that someone with 000s of hours and significant experience of the various game activities bases their opinions on.
