Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I know there's a galactic war on and all that ... but I'm really happy about my cabbages doing so well.

How about a galactic circumnavigation in a sidey? That would be epic.
Traveling around the edges of the galaxy and between the spiral arms is a tricky affair with a 70+ly jump range. I don't think a circumnavigation is on the cards for me in any ship. It's too easy to suddenly find yourself with a 10,000+ly detour to get to where you want to go. And almost all the systems have been previously discovered, so you don't get the higher credits of satisfaction of first discoveries.

Stacked a few Salvage missions tonight. Three on the same moon, luckily. Two of those were bugged and, having serched all containers, no mission item in evidence. Worst off all, they were on the dark side and I'm attempting to get the mats for a night vision suit upgrade and I kept thinking 'maybe there's another container somewhere I can't see'. No dice.

Anyway, it's Friday night and this feels too much like work. I think I'll crack open a bottle of red and watch some people watching telly.

I've had a fair few of those bugged missions. A relog (or, in one I attempted, five) sorts them out. I've also seen this in larceny missions. The upside of those is that you can get a load of (relatively) high value mats to sell in anarchy systems.

I'm back in Odin's Hold region now, on my way back from my trip to Sag A the other day. I'm heading towards Colonia as I've never been there before and I'm now only four or five carrier jumps away. Hoping to do a few on-foot CZs there if any are available and might buy an Anaconda either there or back in the bubble to do a few assassination missions or something, just to make a change and hopefully get my combat rank up a bit.

I would probably have arrived at Colonia by now, but I've been doing quite a bit of lingering along the way, looking for Tritium hotspots to try to perfect my laser mining (even though I probably have plenty to get back to bubble anyway.)

The system my carrier is in right now has one moon with 10 bios and another one with 7. Here's an Osseus Pellebantus:

As of now, the CZ situation around Colonia is thus:

Makes one wonder what folkes do on a Friday / Saturday night out there? For once i'll be unpacking the telescope and lying on a blanket staring at the stars, rather than dropping in at a bar / warehouse party... almost 3500LY from Sol atm :]

One of the goals I set myself has been accomplished:

Now then, what now?
  • Get your Fleet Carrier‘s balance up to the same amount.
  • Reach Elite V in all six categories.
  • Visit a Maelstrom and survive.
  • Circumnavigate a planet in your SRV.
  • Get all 69 badges from Elite Dangerous Star Map
  • OK 68 of them seeing as one is for donations
  • Build yet another suit & weapons combo to G5
  • Fly your FC to Beagle Point and back with only a Sidewinder to support it.
