Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'm doing another on-foot CZ, but now that I've been promoted to Warrior I decided to celebrate by stopping to admire the scenery. :p

This is quite comfortably my personal best reward for a high on-foot CZ - especially as I so far have no weapons better than G3. Best I'd done before was 5 million odd a couple of times...

Actually, even though I did manage to kill quite a few enemies it probably wouldn't have been anything like as much were it not for an apparent bug that occurred. My team had eliminated all the enemies except one, but he/she couldn't be found anywhere. I looked all over the place with no success and all my NPC colleagues were looking as well, saying things such as "must be here somewhere" etc.

After this had gone on for about 20 minutes, I went into a building so I wouldn't be using up my air supply, went to cook some dinner and just left the game running. About 90 minutes later, the single enemy still hadn't been found by my NPC team, so I exited and reloaded, which put me back in the station in the screenshot, but I'm guessing that as I'd left it running for so long, my team kept on capturing the control points, causing me to gain 3,000 credits each time. :geek:

Ha. That was cool!

I've had a few can't be found enemies. My teammates have always been incredibly useless when this happens so it's down to me. They are normally at:

A) quite a way from the main complex
B) inside a building
C) nowhere at all

Fun, isn't it? :D

There's a fourth option, I think... An unattainable, undisclosed subterranean facility.
Some might be tempted to call this "six feet under"...

Are there still mystery NPC's in the settlement drains and/or air-conditioning ducts? ;p

8000+ LY from Sol and both my ship & i are feeling a tad worn at the edges...

...so i've called the carrier in for a rest - hope it can make it back to the bubble still... 🤞 ;p

Yes It's happened to me before as well, but the lone enemy has always turned up somewhere fairly soon. I've also had the situation in which I'm the last surviving member of my team and I'm trying to do a "Custer's Last Stand" type battle against a hundred or so NPC enemies, all looking for me after I'm holed up in a building somewhere, or I've run out a long way away from the complex. :D

I daresay you've noticed this as well Tyres, but as long as you're close to some NPC teammates, you don't necessarily have to keep shooting at an enemy until you get a kill. As long as you put some bullets into the enemy, or weakened shields by throwing a grenade, one of your team members will often complete the kill but you'll still get the credits reward. Even if you've run off somewhere else and started shooting at another enemy while your teammate is doing that!

Déjà vu!

Yep, had the "last stand" thing once but it really was just me standing. Versus, iirc, three enemy. Luckily, they weren't all clumped together which would have turned me into a well known grilled bread product.

And yes, if you get even just a flesh wound in the opponent and your buddy turns them into a line of chalk, you get the bond payout. My trouble with this is that I don't trust my team to make the kill so I like to see things through. But it is great when they do step up.

Technically, I suppose, you could run around, shoot every enemy once and see the cash fly in. It's an interesting scenario I might test one day. Hmm...

Hehe... I've just got a new EDSM badge ;- travel 500 Kylie's. Didn't know I was close and certainly wasn't paying attention! :D

Probably just peanuts to most of you but I thought it was like a long way down the road to the chemists.

Huge congrats! ...i'm just over 225KLY now, as a result of this recent trip - so still not quite a quarter million LY in 5 years :]

Had a nice hand in of the last few days scans and samples, along with a significant repair bill ^^ ...had been hopping about 2500+ LY merrily without an AFMU and started to get just a bit nervous about ship integrity, with all my recent scan data on board...

Anyway, for once on a Thursday morning, the weekly FC maintenance bill has already been paid - so i think i'll just put my feet up and finish the crossword with a cup of tea, while enjoying the warmth of the morning sun, before heading out again ;]

When I've been looking for Thargoid systems, I haven't been able to jump my carrier into an Alert system as not allowed. However, the system my carrier is in right now has SINCE BECOME an Alert one and there's four other carriers there as well. So that's handy then. :geek:

By Jimminy. Those stats are eerily close to mine!

I'm back out exploring (and exo-ing) as I'm trying out a new tool - The Explorer Buddy by @CMDR Panostrede So far, it is proving rather handy. One thing to note: it takes it's explo data from EDSM. In this instance, it may report you being the first discoverer while, in fact, in game, it may well be another CMDR. As I understand it, this tool is a work in progress and will have some enhancements coming along at some point. I like it (y)

Quite similar in terms of exploration/exobiology i think? :] ...except my total distance travelled is less than half yours - must admit i've been using the FC as exploration operations base quite a lot since i got it - it's travelled 135KLY in total i see now ;]

Sounds interesting - must admit i still don't have any plug-ins, only registered on INARA a while back even - would be good to have something that assists with exploration / exobiology i think ...look forward to seeing your review :)

The talk about statistics made me curious about how far I am behind you all after all I have never been much beyond 5,000Ly from start. I was surprised.

Distance from start 5437.32Ly (further than I thought)
Total distance travelled 405,403.00 Ly (much further than I thought)
Total jumps 16,494
Total distance for FC 8,141.60 Ly (again further than I thought)
Total Jumps FC 32

All in only 8 months 26 days 22 hours 2 minutes

I'm still a bit under 10,000 hyperspace jumps - but i've had 1500+ Apex journeys, over 20KLY distance - those are the times when i put my feet up to go suit/weapon engineering... or visit settlements with my violin case :]
