Next dlc idea

the arid animal pack have so much potential to be better, they could've added the following species:honey badger,Hamadaryas baboon, secretary bird.

So after seeing the meta wishlist, the only animals that people wants are mostly small animals,so the next pack is gonna be all about small animals, here is the list:

Tasmanian devil

Wolverine

South American Coati

North Island Brown Kiwi

Honey badger

Short-Beaked Echidna

Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo

Golden Lion Tamarin

Secretary bird

Hamadaryas baboon

Grey Crowned Crane

Ocelot

Walkthrough exhibit:

Brazilian porcupine

I think if all these animals were added to the game, then the community can finally be quit about the habitat animals, the community still wants flying birds and marine animals, but I don't think frontier will add these type of animals, maybe the flying birds?,marine animals needs another game.

Is it okay for me to show the next dlc pack ideas I've been expecting, wishing for and hoping for in this topic? Mine was similar to the ones I listed in some other Forum topics. If yes, here.

Safari pack
  1. African leopard
  2. any baboon species like gelada and hamadryas baboons
  3. Masai giraffe
  4. Crowned crane (grey or black)
  5. green or black mamba (Exhibit)
And my other idea...
Mountain/Alpine/Highland Animals pack
  1. Bighorn sheep
  2. Mountain goat
  3. Markhor
  4. Domestic yak

any baboon species like gelada and hamadryas baboons
Geladas aren't actually a species of baboon.
So after seeing the meta wishlist, the only animals that people wants are mostly small animals,so the next pack is gonna be all about small animals, here is the list:
First off, that's way more species than is reasonable to expect in a DLC.

Second off, why would the Brazilian porcupine be an exhibit animal?

Anyway, that list isn't going to satisfy everyone. The meta-wishlist is pretty outdated. Opinions shift and change as new species are added, especially if they're "close enough" to wishlist animals, and as new themes are explored. In hindsight, the best meta-wishlist is one that reboots every year, so people can change their votes based on what we received in the year prior (since it's apparent that Frontier plans these things a year in advance), rather than continuing to update the same list with every new DLC.

As a personal example, on the list you posited, there are only three animals I actually desperately want and consider essential.

While it's definitely more animals than would come in a pack, based on patterns anyways, I think a small animals type of pack has some merit. Frontier did seem to be working those into the DLCs more starting with the Twilight pack, but this last pack only brought us two smaller habitat animals.

Of course one question could be what would the criteria be for being considered "small"? Would it be by weight and if so what weight? I'd personally think anything less than 100 lbs/45 kg would fit, but your criteria may be different. Maybe 50 lbs/22.5 kgs would be the cutoff? Maybe even half of that - 25 lbs/11.3 kg?

Looking at the list, animals like the Honey Badger, Wolverine, and Hamadryas Baboon are all on the larger size=, while there's definitely some animals that I think most people would universally consider small. The Tamarins, the Kiwi, Coati, Brazilian Porcupine for instance. Like no more than 30 lbs/13.6 kgs would definitely fit that fir the most part. But then, you also have to consider that birds can weigh much less than animals of the same measurement sized. Secretary Bird and Grey Crowned Crane may not weigh much but would still be considered larger animals just by basis of their measurement.

Anyways, what I would love to see for a small animals pack - using 50 lbs as the cut off which is less than half of what I'd normally consider smaller, for mammals anyways. In most cases if there is a weight difference, the males are the heavier, so I'm using that for standard maximum weight requirements unless otherwise noted.

Wolverine (heavier estimates of 44 lbs in males)
Tasmanian Devil (heavier estimates of 18 lbs in males)
Patagonian Mara (heavier estimates of 35 lbs in males and females)
Brazilian Porcupine (estimates of 9 lbs in males and females)
Northern Brown Kiwi (heavier estimates of a little over 6 lbs in females)
Ocelot (heavier estimates of a little over 35 lbs in males and females)
Coatimundi (heavier estimates of a little over 13 lbs in males and females)
Two-Toed Sloth (around 17.5 lbs in males and females) (Walkthrough Exhibit)

Of course, if we really wanted to get to really small animals, we'd take animals like the Wolverine, Patagonian Mara and Ocelot out and replace them with a Tamarin and two other mostly universally agreed smaller animals - under no more than 25 lbs if not no more than 20 lbs. Granted, you could go even smaller than that, to less than 10 lbs to really get to the heart of small animals.

I think the Meta Wishlist was a great tool for organizing the community, but I agree it is now very outdated. If it’s true that DLCs are planned a year in advance it makes sense Frontier hasn’t reacted in line with what people seem to be pushing for, like more primates, birds, etc.

What I wanted and desired has definitely changed overtime as I played the game, the problem is the old meta wishlist really can’t. Outside of animals being added and taken off the list.

I thought of another dlc pack idea for Frontier and Planet Zoo.

Continental/Continent pack
  1. The Americas: squirrel monkey
  2. Europe: common toad (exhibit)
  3. Africa: African leopard
  4. Asia: markhor
  5. Australia: Perentie
Any questions?
