is type 10 defender woth it?

it's a shame the ship balance is such that all player ships are effectively dog fighters in regards to combat roles and are balanced to handicap the physical size differences of the ships when interacting with ships or even non-ships of a vastly different scale.

it would be much more interesting if large ships had their own combat roles and behavior that played out entirely different from smaller ships and attempting to play out of your lane would likely end in a very predictable way. I like the T10 over the anaconda except obviously when needing to travel fast or far. huge hardpoints may have factored into the 'fun' of combat with the anaconda if fdev didn't nerf the hell out of them to the point of them being basically pointless. I basically use the T10 for everything except travel. I mine with it, trade with it, do all types of combat with it. It's a brick ....but it's like those ancient roman cement bricks that last forever.

it's gotta be engineered to the hilt to really shine. Otherwise, yea, it would be a bit disappointing in any basic role, because there are better options.
I thought it was that way in the beginning (back in 2015 or whenever it launched). I know I learned early on how to take down an Anaconda in a RES site (with authority ship help sometimes). Big ships though feel like an entry level challenge for PVEers. They did well in the never ending CZs if you were engineered and outfitted right whereas smaller builds would need to return for RRR sooner. I feel like this was prior to stacking SCBs, but when you could go to SC and get magical shield regen.
