I just got booped by a nyala πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

It was wild. I stayed at Buffelsdrift lodge in South Africa last night and got up at dawn. Saw hippos, lots of birds and all these lovely very chill nyala who hop the fence to eat the yummy garden 😊 I just stayed very still and a young male came up to sniff. My husband and I put out our hands and he booped us each in turn! Also watched a huge black male saunter by and these two young males practicing rutting. Magical.

AWWWWW! So cute! I’m glad that you had that experience!

I've been to the Orlando Sea World. It was a while ago, I don't remember much, but I remember they had walruses. That was cool. The whale's tank was way too small though.
Same here, I remember that Polar building and hated it. The walrus, beluga whale and polar bears all had far too small habitats. Especially the polar bears, its weird seeing tiny polar bear habitats when my local zoo has a habitat similar to the planet zoo space requirements.

I go somewhat frequently. I also remember early last year when I saw the male walrus . . . making himself happy, if you catch my drift.
Oh gosh! I can only imagine πŸ˜… I'm definitely over the moon excited to see the penguins, especially the emperors and kings, walruses, and sea otters. They are all animals that I have never seen before! Cetaceans are cool too, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a bit uncomfortable seeing them in captivity. At least from what I've heard, they're not breeding orcas anymore.

I think the polar bear actually died a while ago. Either that or they got rid of him. I think his name was Johnny, but I can’t confirm. Whenever I saw him, he was always asleep in the position in the same spot in his habitat. They replaced him with harbor seals.

Yeah, luckily SeaWorld San Diego is using their abomination of a polar bear enclosure for harbor seals. I tried to avoid spoiling my experience too much by watching walking tours of the parks, but I'm going to assume that their Wild Arctic in San Diego is probably fairly similar their Arctic exhibit in Orlando. No need to reinvent the wheel.

On a bit of a happier note! I'm going to a beach where there are wild Californian sea lions and harbor seals! Pinninpeds are some on my favorite animals, so it's safe to say I'm going to loose my mind seeing wild ones.

Yeah, I think I went pretty short after they lost the bear. I remember people saying he was there but he wasn't.

Yeah. He is the literal perfect size to fit in a velociraptors mouth, i checked with my raptor model πŸ˜…
There, perfectly bite sized πŸ˜‚
