Also im still unsure about how birds will work, i definetly want them in my world and i want them to be able to fly, but idk how them will be able to interact with the world, like not having hands and all (for now my idea is that they have fingers on their wings, like dinosaurs had
You could always go the Donald Duck approach and make the feathers at the end of the wing curve around things like fingers

Does anyone else collect Schleich here? My little brother got me the mandrill, Malayan tapir, and koala for Christmas. Im looking to get the salamander, sea turtle, Japanese macaque, black Bear, and African buffalo when I get back. I’m even debating buying some of the older animals they don’t sell anymore, like the cobra, rattlesnake, or pelican.

I did as a kid. Still got a big bin full of them on the attic :)
But the only one i got in the last like 15 years was the spinosaurus

More ideas for @Marvinb
. Sparrow hawk Archer. Once you figure out the hands, it could work. Any bird of prey really, you could also probably do a falcon. Think “Eagle Eye” but not an eagle cuz they’re too big
. Give the jerboa a Corsac Fox as a companion and to help carry his things (would probably be sentient too, helps out in the trading business)
. Mink or Weasel Farmer. farms Sow Bugs (for obvious reasons) and other insects
. Ninja Bat. Hangs upside down from trees and uses its swift flight to surprise attack.

Neat Ideas! Im still unsure about the lifestock and "animals" in this world. Currently mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians are all sentient being, so essentiall people. Idk if invertebrates and fish should stay as just animals. I think the idea of some being magically infused or selectivly bred to be larger so they can function as lifestock, mounts and work"horses" is cool.
I case of the jerboa trader a big scarabbeetle being essentially a wagon with all the goods on the back seems pretty dope

From what I've seen, bird figures seem to have normal hands which may be odd if other characters don't

Yeah bird people having either six limbs or using their primary feathers as fingers seems to be the most common solutions
What if in this world, since birds don’t have hands, they have little arm-band like things that they can sort of climb things on to?

Oh definitely! I have probably at least 150 animal figures (not all Schleich though!) My favorite brand is probably Papo...

I used to. Mostly the farm ones, but a few wild animals too. My mom’s side of the family would go to East Hill Farm every year when I was younger, and every year I got a new Schleich figure. I would also beg my mom for them every time we went to Michael’s. I have a whole bin of them in storage somewhere…

Yeah I think inverts & fish should be non-sentient, that way we can have the scarab beetle pack animal and the otter & kingfisher fisher/crabber duo.

I was going to draw the Jerboa and beetle, but man Scarabs are hard to draw, even for someone with no skill 🤣

I stopped at a local LEGO store today and picked some animal up for a future build.
(Yes, I’m not a kid. Yes, I build LEGO. We exist)
Can you guess the theme?

Man i love lego, but its so ridiculosly expensive. I rebuild alot of my old childhood sets a couple weeks back so i could sell them. Was so much fun and nostalgic
Really cool that there are alternative options like bluebricks.
Ah, I remember loving legos way back in the day. My favorite series was the LEGO Monster Fighters.

Off topic: Ive made a series of sculptures set in my fantasy universe that i work on between orders for customers, its kinda like DnD but with forest critters (rabbit knights, squirrel sorceres and so on). Has anyone a cool idea for a character?
Just curious: how good are you with more human-like figures?

So I was playing around with the workshop dinosaur blueprints for future work on my zoo and started with the spinosaurus. I edited the spino to look a little more like the one at the zoo and well...

Me Mom can we get spinosaurus Mom We got spinosaurus at home Spinosaurus at home.jpg

The old spino doesn't hold up very well with the proportions for the newer one :ROFLMAO: I might aswell just throw the actual spinosaurus blueprint in my zoo and recolor it, it looks like:
