Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

If we had all the time in the world then absolutely it would probably be my most wanted/ favorite pack. Unfortunately we don’t have time. So no, but seriously it would be my favorite pack ever:

  1. Burrowing owl
  2. Wild Turkey
  3. Mallard duck/ wood duck
  4. American flamingo
  5. Scarlet ibis
  6. Brown pelican
  7. Greater rhea
  8. Hummingbirds for walk through
Everytime i see the american flamingo mentioned instead of the roseate spoonbill i die a little.

A bird pack has to be all around the world, that I’m sure of. Getting a birds pack that has zero focus on Africa or Asia which have some of the coolest bird species like Secretary, grey crowned crane, pheasant, ground hornbill, marabou stork, etc. Trading any of these for something like a turkey, flamingo, or burrowing owl which don’t do anything for me would be really annoying.

"around the world or whatever name they cook up" or bust
Sorry but i disagree. As much as i still want some animals from around the world, Asia, África, Oceania and Europe all had dedicated packs (even more than one) and were the focus of last year DLCs. It will be extremely unfair if the Américas, specially LATAM, doesn't get another pack. Not only that but it is also the región that is most lacking in essential animals, the rest of the animals to add to the other continents are just nice extras but they have their basics and iconic species covered whole LATAM and SA is still missing things like rhea, coati and monkeys which are pretty basic animals for the region.

Woah woah hold on

I refuse to believe that this one is an extra. Baboons are iconic and are a key species of Africa, I know it’s just one species but it needs to get in. A casual player won’t know what a Rhea or coati is and they aren’t as noticeably missing as a baboon.

Yeah Frontier never really had a fair approach on their dlcs

Yeah this is my main one aswell.
An antelope or deer and a monkey are also missing essentials for india. And mandarin duck and golden pheasant are also desperately missing not only to represent east asia, but to represent incredibly common groups of zoo animals that we completely missing

No shade to people expecting the American Flamingo but wouldn't you prefer species with new models instead of species that modders can do (and have already done)? I mean if we're about to have the last DLC I would definitely root for different models than what we already have even though I know it's not going to have much new models.

PS: remember that I like all species. But I would for example prefer the roseate spoonbill than a new flamingo.

Oh yeah I understand that standpoint, but at this point most modders can do most animals. I want the American Flamingo for a number of reasons, but I don’t doubt the roseate spoonbill would probably be better. I want the American flamingo for the same reason we got the bengal tiger and Siberian tiger, or bonobo and chimp, or lar gibbon and siamang. I would like a flamingo to simply have the new world species that is more common in my local zoos. Same reason some people want the Sumatran tiger, or European brown bear.
  1. Frontier polish
  2. Official representation (may seem like a weird thing, but it’s nice to have frontier recognize an animal and put them in game)
  3. Isn’t a mod so a new update wouldn’t be a worry
  4. It’s the representation that matters
So if a roseate spoonbill gets put in instead of the flamingo I wouldn’t mind at all! I just really like my beautiful pink bird (in my opinion it should have been the flamingo we got in base game)

I think both flamingos should've been in the base game just like with the tigers, tortoises, chimp/bonobo and Brown bears.

I agree! Honestly it’s so weird they doubled up on most animals but none of the birds! I almost wonder if they did birds last. We got the ostrich, but no emu. The flamingo, but not the other flamingo species. The peacock, but no other pheasant species. I also always found it weird that penguins and the mute swan weren’t base game animals, they just seem so obvious. I know I’m not saying something new but it’s weird how weird Frontier is with birds.
