Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Speaking of which, has anyone else wondered about why they chose SEA and wetlands as the first ones to go with the console release?
Probably the popularity of the packs along with the animal species within. Capybara, ASC otter, platypus, sun bear, clouded leopard, binturong, and babirusa are all really strong adds and several of them are pretty essential zoo animals.

They chose packs with animals that aren’t extremely popular so that they could leave the really popular ones for the pass, yet both SEA and Wetlands both have a few animals that are enough to sell the deluxe edition like Capybara and Clouded Leopard.

But you can find similar examples in more or less all animal packs
But comparing the most known species of each pack to each-other, some are more essential than the others. For example, the stars of the wetlands pack like Capy and Platypus aren’t as known as the North America animal packs stars (beaver and moose). Since the wetlands pack has a few stars but stars that aren’t huge of names as some of the other pack mascots, I’m assuming that’s why it got picked in the deluxe edition.

I still think the Eurasia pack has even less big names. Like you have the swan, boar and? The rest are pretty obscure choices for the general audience. Same with Arid. You have porcupine, dromedary and rhino... rest are pretty much randos. Grasslands though great for us has even more less known animals. Sure has the wallaby and butterflies going for it and those are pretty Big sellers on their own and i assume emus are rather well known but other than that is pretty much the same situation.

Guys I just had a wild idea; what if we do not get an anniversary animal but an ANNIVERSARY PACK lol.
I mean it's goona be the 5th year for Planet Zoo and there'd be plenty of time to warm up for an unprecedented number of animals in a single DLC. Even if it's like six months worth of species we could expect like at least 12 species. But we'll never know. :p

12 species of rodents no one asked for!
Interesting 🤣. Lemme list out for devs to reference lol.

Malayan Porcupine
Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat
Patagonian Mara
Red-lumped Agouti
Common Degu
North American Porcupine
Long-tailed Chinchilla
Springhare
Prevost's Squirrel (Ex)
Siberian Chipmunk (Ex)
Red Squirrel (Ex)
Naked Mole-rat (Ex)

PS: Jokes aside, what do you guys think could be a plausible roster? I mean over the 4 years time the team usually went at least 1:1 ratio for new and reused animations so I can imagine them going for hoofstock once again lol.

Pretty sure platypus and capybara got a chance of winning a popularity contest over moose and beaver.

Might not be more well-known to every person on the planet, but people who play Planet Zoo got access to the Internet and know pop-culture and here platypus and capybaras are stars.

I'm thinking they wanted two packs of a similar theme/climate, to basically treat as a single DLC. I'm thinking that might also be the idea for future bundles, and might pair them something like this:
  • North America & Aquatic
  • Africa & Arid
  • Australia & Oceania
  • Arctic & Eurasia
  • Grasslands & Conservation
  • South America & Tropical
  • Europe & Twilight
Granted, North America instead of SEA would probably end up neater, pairing SEA with Tropical, and South America with Aquatic.

Folks...I keep seeing this, they're NOT going to release the DLC concurrently with the console!!!
NO. WAY.
It'd be a marketing oversaturation nightmare, too many eggs in one basket, and Easter isn't even that big of holiday sales point since it's on a Sunday AND EVERYONE HAS SUNDAYS OFF ANYWAY!!!
IF THEY RELEASE THE DLC WITH THE CONSOLE, SCREENSHOT THIS, BECAUSE I'LL MAKE A VIDEO AND DRESS IN DRAG AND DO THE HULA!!!!!!
